Slimbean uses semaphore, so the semaphore manager app.
On the live oc part you can put the slider up to 110% (1.10ghz) or 114% (1.14ghz) when i try 120% (1.2ghz) my phone bootloops

Galaxian-Soup AOSP rom comes with motley kernel and it can be overclocked.
thanks very much, guys!!

[Q] How to Overclock my Galaxy Note GT N7000

Hi...
I am currently running the Ultimate N7000 XXLSC JellyBean 4.1.2 v5.1 with NEW Philz Safe Kernel 3.73 for XXLSC and New CWM Touch 6.0.1.9... Can anyone assist with how i can overclock this kernel.
Also i am pretty new to flashing ROMs and a NOOB so please help...
Philz kernel doesnt support OC yet, since JB is still not official, there are no source-codes for the kernel.
however, some users have reported that Tegrak is working with the new JB leaks so that might be worth a shot, Personally I dont like it very much, but some people do so at least test it for your self.
Be careful when messing with frequencies and voltages etc, dont set anything on boot until you know its working safely. otherwise it can cause more harm than good.
Also keep an eye on the hydracore thread as maxfu has managed to make the hydracore work with TWJB leaks. So if he has released it, it might have an OC version

You may try to use Hydracore kernel (please, use search for more details), there are some modifications with overclocked kernel (up to 1.6 GHz). But do you really need overclocking?
hycracore nirvana have some problem with the camera recording and also wacthing streaming movie and video...so beware. the respond of this kernel is good and fast no lagging, i'm using the latest one update 26 jun one. so still waiting man fu to update the kernel. the kernel are almost perfect. cheers
I am use tegrak overclock. All works perfectly. Also i really advice 2 use this programm. Only 2.5 buckses.
Tegrak

[Q] Semaphore kernel 2.9.9 on Cyanogenmod 10.1 AT&T Samsung Galaxy Captivate I897

Ok I recently got a Galaxy Captivate and want to update it to Cyanogenmod 10.1 but I can't find any good guides on what kernel I should use. I know that the semaphore kernel works with Cyanogenmod 10. So I guess my question is, does the latest Semaphore kernel (2.9.9) work with the latest version of Cyanogenmod (10.1) for the AT&T Samsung Galaxy Captivate I897?

Yes indeed.
Just make sure when you grab Semaphore that you get the one for 4.2 firmware.
Thanks

Although the semaphore kernel works I wouldn't recommend it with the Samsung Galaxy Captivate because it only has 3 available overclocking governors and the battery life wasn't very good although I'm not sure if the kernel is at fault. I'm currently using the kernel that comes built into CM10.1 for the Captivate and seems to work fine so far.

[Q&A] Speed up my SGS

Hey there,
I currently have my SGS running the latest official Baked 8 ROM 4.2.2 and its amazing! It's definitely my new ROM brand of choice (came from CM) Anywho lately my phone has started to lag up. The keypad needs a 0.5 second breather and things take longer to load like the lock and home screen and I was just wanting to know how I could make it faster. Would a custom kernel help?
Thanks in advance.

I recommend you to install SuperNexus2 or SlimBean ROM.
SuperNexus2 is super fast and it has Aways kernel which can be overclocked to 1.2 Mhz.
SlimBean is also great and it has semaphore kernel.
Also try build.prop tweaks :good:
Advanced task manager ..kill those pesky apps when screens off

You can try Greenify app to hibernate few applications you do not use. It'll be activated when you launch them. This saves some ram. Also use some build.prop tweaks, and some system performance tweaks
