So I'm having the issue where the battery isn't charging. Left it to charge for a couple of hours. Came back, still no charge. Read on a different android forum that someone pop the back cover, pulled the plug and reconnected the battery.
Well as I did that, I noticed that one of the wires from the pin connector to the battery is broken off from the battery itself (see below)
Just got this as of today. So what do I do? Return it to amazon?
This is the picture if it didn't post previously.
Send it back, thats the easiest way.

Send it back (and don't say you removed the back).

Thanks guys. Already put it in for a return with amazon. Hopefully I get one that isn't broken.

Hi, since yesterday night (I always charge my phone at night) I experienced a weird battery issue. When I plugged off the charger the battery looked like it was still charging. I went in settings > system info > status and it showed "Charging (AC)" then "Not charging" (this two messages kept switching for 10 minutes or more). I also looked to mAh and it was like 5000+ mAh. My battery is the original Samsung 3.7V 2500mAh. I get this problem with both original AC charger and pc USB cable.
Yeah, I also tried wiping battery stats following the steps.
try cleaning the usb port.
I don't want to damage it.. how can I clean it safely?

remove the battery .. use a toothpik, clean cloth, pressurized air may help too.. nothing to be done forcefully.. u wont damage it.
Will try when I'll be at home. Thanks for your help mate.

sure.. let the forum know how it goes
Sure

Cleaned the USB port using a toothpik and pressurized air but still getting that problem.
In the image (sorry for italian language) it says overvoltage after a few seconds I plugged off the charger.
Add: My phone was plugged off, but in the stats tab it said that my phone was plugged in with AC.
so does it say changing even when the charger is not in?
Yes

I'll try.. tomorrow I'll ask to a friend to land me his note battery and try if it's a battery or charging problem.

Update: today I tried my friend's battery and it didn't give any problems, so I think my battery is damaged.
I'm still wondering how (and why) could this happen.

Update: I cleaned the USB port with a toothpik and a hairdrier (sorry if not typed correctly) and now seems to work properly, will let the forum know if not

Hi, I have broken nexus 7 (dropped) with working battery. I bought new nexus 7 few months ago. I also bought leather case. I took battery out of my old nexus and it's slim enought to fit inside case without any notecible bumps. I wonder how could I connect it to my new nexus to get that extra battery life. I assume usb port would be just fine, but what about charging? Any ideas are wellcome. Also I know my way around soldering gun.

I assume that black wires are negative (ground), red are positive. And white with yellow should be data to inform device on battery stats/charging etc.
Sent from my LG-P760 using xda app-developers app
I could get micro usb connector and solder wires to apropriate pins. But I don't know about data pins. How could I charge it? And how I would know if it's charged. Is that board soldered with battery capable telling me if battery is charged with added led diode or something.
Sent from my LG-P760 using xda app-developers app
So after googling for a while I found out that white and yellow wires should be data/trehmal. Don't know wich is wich yet. And don't know how to read it. I pressume I should create extra board for reading battery charge and adding basic led indicator for charging/charged information.

Anyone else seeing battery drain with their s view cover???
I just got mine today and almost immediately felt like I started seeing excessive battery drain.
Not sure if I'm going crazy or what.

Ok. Pretty sure I'm not crazy. 37 to 34 percent in about twenty minutes with phone in my pocket with s view cover.
Put on oem back and I've gone 34 to 32 in about the same time with screen on. The

Ok, day 2 with s view cover and battery drain isn't seeming to be an issue. Not sure what to think of it.

I have the s view and it works fine for me.

I ran battery stats pro and better battery stats and they both found an app "mobile tracker" to be draining battery.
I got paranoid and did factory reset. Seems to be okay now and battery drain was not related to s view cover.

I have the s-view and I also noticed battery drain. I have only had it a day so time will tell if it continues.

Let me know what you see. I'm still not sure if it is or isn't draining battery.

I also noticed my battery is draining pretty fast since i got the s view cover :/ I'm not sure what to do, i don't want to master reset my device and I'm not rooted (I miss TiBu)
Is there any solution?
I have had the S view cover for months ,,,no drain ..I get 4 days off charge.,,,,

My s view original Samsung case exhibits very strange behaviour, when I plug in my charger the s view comes on for 5s then off then on for 5s then off and repeats until either I open the cover or unplug, then when cover closed again it goes through sane cycle, plus I too have massive battery drain - it is the wireless charging cover

Returned mine after the first day. It let's a little light in and screen will come on, thus draining the battery. It's junk until it gets broken in so it stays closed. Even then though it still won't stay closed enough to stop the screen from coming on randomly.

YES!
YES it is the s view ive gotten my note 3, on the first day the battery was AMAZING it lasted the whole day with the s view. But then the next day came and it started dropping, i asked my friends (they have the note 3) and they said theirs lasted sometimes 2 days!

I purchased the s-view cover that supports wireless charging. I went all out and purchased one of those hardened "real glass" screen protctors, and reading up about how the s-view doesn't quite close all the way, I also got one of those small magnetic clips that attaches really NICE to my s-view cover.
I'm telling you guys, it's the BOMB! I never ever need to actually plug my phone in anymore. I just set it on its wireless charging pad every night. The cover always stays closed, and since it's an official one, I just simply open it to turn on my phone.
never really notice any battery drain though.

I had buggy touch bug but it was loooooong time ago. It was loking like that :
When have opened app drawer or any app it started running and i always end at homescreen when i was trying to do something on my phone while battery was charging.
But i cant remember how and when this problem was gone but i can said this :
One day touch was buggy and in second it was OK (not buggy)
If this problem will exist very long go to service. May your microusb port is touching LCD. And when you connect charger LCD feels power as a touch and starts bugging.

It exists in battery. I charged with a non-original charger (or it was a blackberry charger lol i don't remember exactly) and battery damaged. Then I switched another original battery and never used non-original charger, now it's okay. Changing voltages probably won't help, I recommend you to take a samsung charger and samsung 1500mAh battery then you can play with voltages too.
Thanks all at first.
But guys. A new batery here is R$130 ($60). I have already bought one new 2 months ago.
Cant a just make my batery get used to the original charger voltage?
Sent from my GT-I9070 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
If you buy it only for 2 months ago, then you still have warranty and must return to seller for change it.
Correct?
Powered by CM10.2
Indeed. So i tell them that my phone batery has got addicted to another voltage then the original samsung charger?
I will do that. But for those that doesnt have warranty and are running out of money, is tjere something they can do?

One question! Today i decided to charge my phone with its original charger for the first time! I plugged in the charger and after 20 mins or so i smelled like something was burning! Went to check the charger and it was halfway melted but the phone was still showing like it was charging! I disconnected it immediately and continued charging it with another charger! Now after fully charged my battery drops like a stopwatch! I wanted to ask a question ! Has anything happened to the phone or it is just a coincidence??

Well if it still charges then it's ok. I had a similar issue but it cooked the USB port on the phone end. Give it a few full charge and discharge cycles. If the battery is draining quick then I'd do a warranty job

Battery seems ok now after a day! Same screen on time and everything seems ok! Guess htc have implemented a safety mechanism on chargers end to protect the phone!
