Windows Phone - LG Optimus 2x

No one frome the developers can port windows phone 7 or 8 to optimus 2x? I'm verry curious how it is the wp7 or 8 on android devices
P.S. and NO I wil not buy a windows phone 7/8 smartphone because I'm not a millionaire, its not what I asked for. This is just a simple coriousity question

The only way is installing wp apps from play store (launcher, lock screen, contacts etc), there's no way to get to work proper WP on our phones. I think the only possible phone is HTC HD 2 (which is originally a WP6.5 phone), that can run Android and WP7 the same time.

[Q] Windows Phone 7 for O2X

Is it possible to install Windows Phone 7 (or 7.5) on LG Optimus 2X? Or is it not possible because of the hardware?
No it isnt, you would need bootloader, drivers and w7 source for that. And lot lot lot of skill, reverse engeneering and a lot of spare o2xs.

Why is there always people wanting to install Windows on Android devices... Same on my Asus tablet, people complain that Windows is not available.....
Buy a Windows device!
I was the same back in hd2 times. When wp7 came to it i was realy exited about it until i flashed it wp7 reminds me some dump one purpose only phone. The apps are bad joke and games as well.

Why would you want to do this?! As already said, buy a Windows phone!
LG E900 Optimus 7 (used) is quite cheap ...
You can try Launcher 7, i'ts a launcher witch imitates the WP7 style. Pretty good

HTC One X is a Android phone..... Do you want to try android?
TBH its really up to you, Android is better app wise then windows phone but can be complicated to some people while wp7 is much more easier.
If you like downloading apps and like customisation by the One X if not stick with your windows phone.
Best way is to play with the device if you can get hold of in a retail shop or if one of your friends have it and then make up your mind.
Agree with tfn.
maybe you can still foreign apps

I have both phones and if you had the choice between the two, I would say getting the One X is a no brainer. Better screen, better camera, better battery life, better customization, more apps, better development, etc, etc.. I actually can't think of one thing that the hd7 does better. It was so frustrating how locked down the wp7 os is and they did a great job with android 4.0.
With all that said I am still going to keep my hd7 as a backup phone and to be able to test apps on a real device for when I'm doing wp7 app development.

[Q] Windows Phone 7?

Is it possible to port/flash Windows Phone 7 to Optimus Black? I really want to give it a try if it is possible. If HTC HD2 got it, why can't OB?

yep
But that's probably because HD2's internal architecture is very likeable... It support Windows Mobile 6.5, WP7, Android (Froyo-Jelly bean )
Porting another OS on an Android device would be extremely hard!!! The only ones I know is ICS in a Nokia N9 and the HD2..
If you want to port WP for Optimus Black, you should just wait WP8 which will be far better than WP7 (But I don't really see the point in having WP on our device)
(Well, I'll look into porting Firefox OS when it'll be stable enough (We can currently run it on Crespo, SGSII, and GNex) or Open webOS)
Actually Windows Phone 7 OS only support snapdragon processors and our lg optimus black has an cortex A8 processor which is not supported by windows phone 7 hecne we cannot port it to optimus black

[Q] Which WIN8 Phone does what the HTC HD2 did?

Hi:
I current have an HTC HD2 Telstra, and it came with Windows Mobile. Thanks to the brilliant folks at XDA, I have been successfully running Android, and every time I want to upgrade the type of Android I use, I simply replace the Android folder….simply brilliant.
So I now have no need for Windows Mobile, and am looking to do the same with Windows 8 and Android, and I am trying to find which phone out there is as versatile as the HTC HD2 Telstra, and comes with Windows Phone 8 installed.
How will I know which phone with Windows 8 installed will enable me to also install Android in the same fashion? If I could create the phone, it would be a 5” screen, Windows 8, and a lot of power. Anything close to that would be acceptable, but it must be Windows 8. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Chaz
With Windows Phone 7 there was never a port of Android to any device and given that WP8 employs Secure Boot to make sure only verified OS-code is loaded and executed I highly doubt we will see anything similar to the HD2 with WP8. Aside from that no one would be able to say that beforehand.
No Windows Phones do what you want.
Why not just buy an Android phone if that's what you want (for some inexplicable reason)?

Because I can....lol I like the flexibility of running two different OS, and the additional apps I can use as a result. Keep in mind, I really don't need anything, but if its possible with WIN8 and Android....why wouldn't anyone want two OS on one phone?

Firstly, Windows 8 does not run on phones.
Secondly, Windows Phone 8 devices will not be able to run Android (thankfully).
Thirdly, no Android device will be able to run Windows Phone 8.
I think you will need 2 separate phones, or you will have to choose one or the other if you only want one phone.

OK....it seems that XDA haven't cracked code that disables other OS on Windows Phone. I'm counting on that, but I wont go two phones, I would just buy a cheap tablet.
Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Only if you have an emulator. Windows phone 8 and windows 8 share a common kernel and a lot of cross platform ability however an app will need to be written for the phone or for windows 8. That said in most cases this is just a case of how you compile it or a very small amount of code change so you can expect the growth of windows 8 and windows phone 8 to push each others markets up.

One word...wait... Android for the HD2 did not come out the day the phone was released. The ONLY reason why it had Windows Phone 7 is because Microsoft used it in their testing of WP7, so drivers were leaked and everyone built on it as they learned more. Android was ported to Windows Mobile devices and most, if not all of them were able to run some flavor of Android, even if was just the SDcard boot method.
Time will tell if there will be that magic device that Microsoft MIGHT of used in testing that ran all OS's (WM, WP7 and WP8) and then you might have a earier chance but, I would not count on it.
The only thing you can do is wait, one of the hacker will attempt one device at one point, if they succeed AND release it, you might have it.
Right now, the odds of it happening is very low on phones that have not been released yet and even for months after.
I wish you luck but, if you really want Android more than Windows Phone, I might suggest to just pick up a Android device.
Good luck

There are advantages to each OS. I presently have dual boot Wp7.8 (pdaimatejam) and Android on the same HD2 (with 32gb SDcard). It is just brilliant. I can run either and both the latest in these are very smooth. Got the best of both worlds - pretty unique.

Turn my Note into a Windows Phone for a while

In the old days of the HD2, I used to dual boot Android and Windows Phone and loved the two different user experiences.
I would love to be able to flash a Windows Phone Rom on the Note to test out, but wondered if there is another way.
What would be the best base Rom to start, I know there are WP launchers on the market, but whats the most accurate, can I get notifications, sounds, gallery, music etc....similar to WP
I know you may find this crazy as Android is the greatest, but I want to get this feeling of trying Windows Phone without actually having to buy one
It will remain a fantasy... microsoft doesnt release its os roms. So you cant dual boot ur android. Microsoft could have released their os lisence for other android phones. But that would have been a risk and a lot of work to do to optimize win phone 8 for a variey of hardware. So they have kept it in nokia. Plus thesedays its not hard to get a new device than switcing os on just one phone.
Yes for usability i think win phone is easy to use than android. But android is becoming the new phone standard. So ppl will learn it quickly. Like i did a year back. I was a symbian lover before than.
