Yes
Oficially it doesn't, but like the T and TL it works. I think that it needs to be formatted as ext

It works, but only in FAT32 on the stock rom. You'll be limited to a 4GB file size.

I want to storage a FLAC music ^^

Hi,
May I know what we need to do after bought the card in order to get it working in Xperia V? Format in Fat32 or NTFS and what is the maximum file size we can use?

Just to update that Xperia V can support and read 64GB MicroSD Card and I have bought the Ultra Speed or Class 10, 64GB MicroSD card.
All you have to do when you insert the card into the phone and power on the phone, it will prompt you that it is an empty card so you have to format it and start using it after that.
Space available after formatting is : 59.45 GB

Xperia T - 64Gb micro SD use
Just to confirm that on my stock ROM, I can only support 64Gb cards when formatted by a Sony device.
Trying to format on a Samsung S3 first to use ext3/4 format does not work
I asked a nice chap in an EE store to format the card and it did not work, all it did was make me jelous of the S3 screen and 4G speeds vs O2...
Do we know which modded ROMs supported other formats, or is it only custom ROMs like CM?

Partition/disk problem

Hey guys,
I want to restore some lost files of my xperia z with easeus data recovery, however it doesnt detect the phone because its listed as xperia Z in explorer and when u open it u see 2 disks, internal storage and SD storage. But because its packed inside the head xperia z it cant be detected by the third party software.. any idea how to just show internal storage and SD as stand alone disks?

You can root the phone if you haven't done so already and use the app undelete to recover lost files.
Or you can mount the phone in mass storage mode from the settings in xperia then usb connectivity.
Press thanks if I have helped

Mounting in mass storage only displays my SD card, which i dont want to recover files from.
I really need the internal storage to be shown without it being wrapped up in the header 'Xperia Z' so it can be detected by the recovery 3rd party software i have on my PC. My phone is already rooted by the way.. and the app undelete only supports external SD cards.. which is exactly what i dont need ..
Use another file recovery program, some support right clicking in a folder to recover files. For example back2life by grandutils

not true .. installed it, it also works by disk detection, did not detect phone..
If you want to mount a certain part as a disk try android commander.

It may be difficult since I doubt MTP will allow recovery tools to function properly, plus, the device doesn't let you mount internal storage in mass storage for obvious reasons.

Merge the interal storage to one partition

I just bought a new 32gb memory card, and im curious if it's possible to merge my two internal storage partition into one big ROM partition?
Currently the interal storage is divided like this:

}
Is it possible to merge this in to one partition, so that I don't need to have 3 different partitions when I use my SD card?
nope thats not possible at all. not in my knowledge. both are totally different type of storage with different allocated addresses, one being much faster than other. plus when u plug ur phone to a computer or to a usb
the memory card is not readable by the phone during that time. So no you cant merge the two.

Ah, okay. I thought the two partitions came from the 16 GB storage.
If I recall correctly, I think I saw a post on how to it do a long time ago. Couldn't seem to find it again though.

Is your sd-ext partition format in ext4? What is the amount of Mb (R/W speed) tweaked to your sdcard?
Class 10 is always better than 2,4,6....
And IMO int2ext4+ is always better than link2sd using whichever sdcard class xDDDDD

Sony Xperia phones can now move apps to SD cards

17 July, 2014
Sony began rolling out Android 4.4.2 KitKat-based firmware update yesterday for the mid-range Xperia T2 Ultra. It brought the new OS version plus updated system and Sony exclusive apps. What we missed to notice the first time is the awesome function to move apps to the SD card.

Once you go to application manager in your Settings menu and select an app, you'll notice the new Move to SD card option. There is even a new column that shows only the apps installed on your microSD card.
This particular feature is priceless for the mid and low-end phones, which come with very limited internal storage and system partition. It isn't available with the KitKat updates on the Xperia Z top lineup, but as it turns out Sony has different plans for the less-capable devices.
Currently Sony is still prepping the KitKat updates for Xperia M2 and Xperia E1 and we bet we'll see Move to SD card feature premiering on those with the new firmware as well. Maybe the KitKat-running Xperia smartphones will get it with the next update, too.

Lets hope that it will come for our Xperia ZR too.
This was the only reason for root for me.
Hoping that the fix the akku drain problem soon and bringing this update to us.
Right now I am back to Android 4.3 cause of the draining of my akku.
Good news!
Greetings Lemmi.

Format your microSD as "internal memory" (adopted storage), this feature available on Android OS starts from Marshmallow. When your microSD have been formatted as adopted storage phone automatically offer you to transfer data on SD card. Wait for transfer complete. Now all data, including app data, that can be moved will be store on your MicroSD, all feauture data (if it possible) will be stored on your SD card too. The only drawback of adopted storage - you can't use this microSD on any other device, only in this phone (!) (because if formatted as ext4 partition and it's crypted), and if you do hard reset a phone - all your data on SD can become inaccessible.
Thanks bro . Maybe i need to buy a 32 gb sd first . I have a 16 gb now.
Question : if i have picture or music on the sd is the same .. i cant copy to another Phone ...

If you format your SD as adopted storage (internal memory), you will be able to tranfer music, photos and other data to PC - just by connected phone with SD insterted to it. I was trying to say that if you extracted this SD from phone - it will not read in any other devices, except this phone. To access data on this is SD it must be inserted in phone in which it formatted.

Data on SD is crypted, you can't to anything with is without phone in which this SD is formatted. It makes no difference - have you root or not. To access data on adopted storage - you'll need phone.
Thanks
