[Q] Kindle HD7 Restore - 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi all
im sorry for posting but i have been searching forums for about a day and have no answers.
i rooted my kindle fire hd 7 using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2051270&highlight=restore and followed all of the steps.
Basically something has come up and i need to get rid of my kindle, i did a factory reset which deleted all of my data but kept the root. Because i of what i saw, i went on super su and pressed the delete root button or something? i currently have a problem where my computer is not picking up my kindle in adb mode so i cant install twrp.
I am trying to get my kindle to how it would have been out of the box

ive factory reset and the google play store is still there and im missing the kindle app and kindle store :?

UPDATE **
I now have all my drivers installed and my device is re rooted any help now please ?

You have to remove anything you changed in the system folder.
First make sure you install superuser.apk as a user app. If it is a system app delete it from the system/app folder then install from the play store. Or move the .apk to data/app folder
Then delete the vending.apk or phonesky.apk from system/app folder. This will get rid of play store(after factory reset)
Remove any other mods you made to system folders ie:launchers
Lastly you have to delete the su binary, it is located in the system/xbin folder.
Now you can perform factory reset and it should be back to stock.

To return to stock:
1. Make sure that superuser is installed as a user app. If not just uninstall/delete from system/app folder, then reinstall from the play store or sideloaded copy.
2. Unistall/delete any mods you have made to any folder outside sdcard, ie: launchers in system/app folder
3. Delete the su binary from system/xbin folder
4. Uninstall superuser
5. Factory reset
i factory resetted my kindle after rooting it now the teamwin loading screen just keeps flashing what to do

[Q] Want to unroot my Kindle

Hi,
Brand new to this site so no idea what I'm doing but I'll explain my problem, and I am a bit of a n00b when it comes to technical speak so bear with me!
Rooted my Kindle Fire HD 7" to get the Playstore and to disable the ads
Working well, but then I decided to get rid of automatic updates as whenever one came along, all my hard work was erased
Now I feel my Kindle is running slowly and I want to un-root all the work I did, and get it back to the way it was
I have performed a factory reset (probably a massive mistake!) and attempted to un-root it. But whenever I go on my Bin4ry program, and click to unroot, it says "Error: Device not found"
It comes up when I go into My Computer, and I have installed all necessary drivers, and enabled ADB...
I have tried to install the latest update for the Kindle Fire HD from the Amazon site as some people have said that worked, but I assume because I disabled automatic updates, it didn't work.
I am using Windows 7
I have a Kindle Fire HD 7"
So how can I unroot it? Please help me!

Use KFFA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2096888 You can do about anything from that tool. Just don't try to install TWRP or 2nd bootloader from there.
Try this dude

Many Superuser apps include the 'unroot' function in their settings. If the one you installed doesn't have the setting, just install supersu or CWM's Superuser app from the market, boot it up, let it take over the su and then use that app to unroot. (Choose "Install", Do Not Choose "Recovery Install"! ;p)
The fact your Kindle Fire isn't recognized by your bin4ry tool is maybe because of your factory reset resetting the Debug over USB setting in your settings. Re-enabling that will probably make it visible again to Bin4ry, since Bin4ry uses ADB (Android Debugging Bridge).

need to send kindle fire hd 7 back

as the title says, need to send it back as it is having volume problems,it keeps turning itslef up.i have done a factory reset etc etc but its still the same,,,,whats the best tool now to return it completely to how it was when i got it with no trace of roms or twrp
thankyou
What I would do is use kindle fire first aid to restore it to stock, then manually unroot it by first deleting the superuser apk from the system partition, then deleting the su binary. Seem's like the updates from their site used to be flash able from twrp if you changed the extension, you could always let it ota or manually update it after using kffa to restore it, that would also take care of root.

It should be ready now, once a stock ota image updates the kindle it basically wipes all changes you made from the system partition.

[Q] How to root kindle fire HD 7" version 7.4.8?

I've been browsing Kindle fire HD root videos and forums all day. There seem to be almost none for the 7.4.8 version. I cannot find any videos or tutorials for my kindle version. Do I need to downgrade? If so, how? Where do I begin? I'm a newbie.
Root it just like you would the other versions. Binary's root or kffa root, if nothing else works just downgrade it, those are prerooted.

Asides this, will I also be able to successfully root through the tutorials on youtube which are meant for version 7.4.6?
They should work, as far as I know nothing has ever changed in the rooting process for this device.

Thank you
I also lost root with the update to 7.4.8 a few days ago.
I originally rooted my kindle with bin4ary's root, but that program was able to re-root it.
Thank you for suggesting KFFirstAide because that program was able to restore root for me.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I rooted a 7.4.8 this week, it was no different to do than before it was upgraded, I think the user had upgraded the firmware to 7.4.8 and caused a boot loop problem, so it had to be put back to stock and then re-rooted, just take your time and follow all the instructions to the letter, I used "Root Many Android" as the software, also ensure the ADB drivers are correctly installed >and working< and you set the windows Enviromental Variables path correctly, ensure the kindle is charged up before you start. Good luck
Downgrade 7.4.8

I have been trying to root my Kindle all morning, searching through videos here and downloading links. All I have ended up doing is getting a bunch of malware on my computer which I can't remove! And now when I go to uninstall programs it only shows I have 3 programs installed. I'm so frustrated and I just want my computer back to normal. Please, can anyone help me?

Eh... Not exactly the best place to ask for help fixing your pc. That can be more difficult to explain how to fix over the net, If you want someone to repair your pc for free then pm me or hit me up on skype, i can fix pc's remotely assuming it still gives you network access and lets you install programs, and also assuming the virus isnt the kind that prevents me from fixing it short of pulling the hard drive and scanning it remotely. However i will say this, if your programs list only has 3 programs on teh add remove page, its possible some registry keys were deleted.
If however you are looking for the kindle fire 7 hd 2012 root utility, use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2096888
if its the 2013 model, don't use that there's another tool for it.

[Q] google play cant establish reliable connection

hey i had to do a factory restart on my kindle fire hd and blah blah. before google play was working, i installed it with KFfirst aid. ok so im on the step that i need to log into android market before upgradeing to google play, but i get a very annoying "cant establish a reliable connection to the server" ive done all the truble shooting like redoing it re rooting re booting reinstalling did another factory whipe all with no avail. i did it on my moms kindle and its working perfectly, i also did it on another kindle just today and it was working perfectly untill it came up with a hardware malfunction. so why is it not working on this one? i used same exact method for all of them.
