Problem is mentioned in the title. Every time when I turn my phone off in the night (5 min ago for example ) it reboots instead of turning off.
Everything stock, no root, not unlocked, nothing. Software .195
Any ideas? I don't get it, after the reboot it doesn't ask for pin but I get a signal, after second time turning it off it is really off...
Thanks.

This happens to me sometimes, but I always thought it was my ROM.
You could try a force shutdown. (Keep down both volume up and power button)

What Rom do you mean? A modified stock one or Cm10 too? It's no big deal but it is boring to turn the phone off always twice...

I too noticed this on .195, on a couple of occasions it rebooted instead of shutting down. I have no idea why this occured, but it seems to have stopped after upgrade to .223.
perhaps it's a bug that Sony themselves recognised in 195 and fixed.

I'm on .303 and mine does this from time to time. Not updated my Xperia T yet. Must be a bug prior to the latest fw

LOOOL - you must have had finger on side of the phone, as that is where power button is !!!!!!!!!!! and it is right next to Vol+ !!!!!!!
But i am not saying it is your fault either, it's just possible we all did this, just as it is possible it is a glitch in the matrix (bug on younger f/w)
Either way, worth knowing if it happens again!!!

no i don't have to have my finger there.
i have the finger on the power button 1 second then the menu pops up on the screen, i can wait nothing happens, then i press TURN OFF on the screen so no possibility that i have my finger again near the volume up button. and it still rebooted before the latest update.
certainly on my 195 it can happen. Some say if you remove the SIM and or SD card in NEVER happens, but not sure how useful the phone is then...

I am on latest Nova rom & Harsh kernel, and sometimes my o2x turns itself off when locked. Don’t know what can cause it, mostly it works great, but, for example yesterday I wanted to use it, and it was turned off. I pressed power button, typed the pin and put it back to my pocket, then after 10 minutes I grabbed it again and voila, it was off. It havent done it today so I'm really helpless why is this happening. Any clue?

What is Force Restart?
When phones is not responding and hanged up, most of users pull battery out and start their phone up. This action cause serious damages to eMMC Chip. So, most of smartphone manufacturer include a key combination to do force restart in their product.
How:
Volume Down + Volume Up + Power for few sec.
My Test: On Icecoldsandwitch 7.2, Cyanogen 7.1 and Virtuous Quattro RC3 custom roms
You can also test on your phone; test it and replay your result with roms' names
I'm very interested to know how it works on Official rom
good to know - im one of the battery pulling majority and as a result the indent on the case where you put your nail in to prise the case off has become quite rough with the black plastic coming off!
wish i'd known this 14 months ago!

Playgound ICS, newest version. And it is a hard freeze. Even the charging light remains on, until battery literally runs out or gets removed. No button (soft or hardware) is responding to anything.
Tested on Virtuous Quattro RC3 , works successfully even in hanging

Yes, It will, let me give you an example, It's not perfect one but it's similar situation. when your computer does not respond, you hold the power button and computer turning off, or in laptops when your system is hanged up are you holding power button or pull your laptop's battery?
ofcourse we cannot compare smartphones with computer systems but what should you do if - for example - htc one s hanged up? (soft freeze) you can't pull battery out
so according to my tests, in soft freeze situation, you can force restart

When my phone is freezing I give it a blanket... if that doesn't work I throw it in the sauna.
Anyway, I've to pull the battery if it hangs since no buttons/keys are working.

Hi, i tried the remove bloatware (Safe List) here under Q/A..
I took first the ones that i know i never would use.. the phone seems fine.
Then i decided to take everyone from the top to customize it more..
BUT now after i removed everything it DONT work, the lock screen seems fine but as soon as i opened the lock screen its COMPLETELY BLACK and i cant even turn it off i can wait til the lockscreen comes back and then i can turn it off.. !
What the hell do i do now.. ?
I have tried to do a hard reset but when it runs the "startup" setting thingy it says failed.. :S
So i cant even restore it now do i have a ruíned phone for life.. ?
Try a kdz reflash, that should hopefully fix it.

That option don't work always. If the settings are loaded in startup the problem remains.
I already had that problem but I was able to fix it with factory reset in ARS. Was the only solution cause the issued app was only frozen, if was un-installed, only re-flashing...

It looks like Sony messed it up again after it was prevalent in arc. The below video shows how the pinch to zoom works jerky and doesn't work properly at times. To better illustrate,
* I have zoomed in using default Album app
* Used QuickPic as well
* Zoomed in a website in Chrome
In all cases, the zoom doesn't work. It simply doesn't record my gestures properly. Many of the users have reported in the issue, I'm hoping myself that it's a firmware issue. But as time passes, it makes me think that my panel is faulty as well. Please report or suggest guys. If you haven't tried this yet, then please do across all apps which this zooming feature.
Steps taken:
* Ran Xperia Diagnostics app.
* Full repair in PCC and also in FT as well.
Note: The video is hefty at 78 megs, sorry in order to show you how clearly it was misbehaving, I couldn't compromise on quality. Please do watch.
Box link: https://app.box.com/s/mas3tj8gvaqctn19dq1n
Update: It's a hardware issue. Gave my device for replacement today.

Hmm have to say not come across this issue, pinching and zooming is fine for me. Things that you can try: Update the phone to the latest firmware to rule that out, if you still have an issue then it is a hardware fault with your panel, i really do hate how people are so quick to bash Sony. Things like this happen, hardware faults do occur from time to time, get a replacement if that is the case, warranty should cover it.

Do you know what? When I gave the device, the issues I mentioned were the zoom and yellow hue issue. The rep didn't agree with the hue issue although he agreed with the zoom issue. But after he started using the device, two additional issues were found. SoD and random reboot. My Z1 started rebooting randomly.Phew, I gave it at last. The problem sheet of my Z1 has four issues in total now.

Same, same same!!! I had the same issue too after disabling it. Don't worry. A few reboots should do. Also you can leave as it is for some time then try again. If not, then start the device - Power off using the red colored switch present in the SIM card slot. Reboot again.

Ill try to explain my problem in detail...
I have an unlocked bootloader Xperia Z
I flashed first 4.4 build to try the new kitkat android....
On these build i have incredible battery life but, obviously other kind of stability problem....
Then I reverted back to Monxified 4.2.2 rom, and I make a little mistake (flashing new rom with phone at 40% battery with cable plugged in.....
After this i start experiencing bad battery life and suddently shut down at 30-40% battery level....
I tried various full charge (even with phone shuttend down) and long time charging even after the battery indicator is full......
Nothing changed and situation get worse with phone shutting down at 60%...
After this i tried move to 4.4.2 beanstalk.....
It seems to work a little better but again phone suddently shut down during usage and start to be unable to go after boot logo (before bootanimation)
If I power on phone i see the kernel logo and when boot animation must came in phone simply shut down.....(it doesn't reboot or go in bootloop it shut down and I have to push the power button to see the same crap)
With power cable plugged in phone work without problem, but even after startup if I remove cable phone shut down after 30sec-1 min....
BUT, and this is the strange one...
If I boot in recovery i can do what i want....even withoud external power in recovery i can use phone for 30 minutes adn over without shutdown...i can flash rom and other stuff and my Xperia Z doesn't turn off....
I'ave also tried to flash a completely stock FTF with sony official kernel (4.2.2 and 4.3 versions) but nothing chage....
Leaving aside recovery...every rom i flash simply can't go after kernel logo without external power
,
I often flash new roms with cable plugged in... So, you have already done a full wipe, so try to use the battery calibration app, maybe the battery stats are corrupted.

Indeed. The option to delete batterystats.bin was removed from most custom recoveries long ago as it does nothing.
