Ill try to explain my problem in detail...
I have an unlocked bootloader Xperia Z
I flashed first 4.4 build to try the new kitkat android....
On these build i have incredible battery life but, obviously other kind of stability problem....
Then I reverted back to Monxified 4.2.2 rom, and I make a little mistake (flashing new rom with phone at 40% battery with cable plugged in.....
After this i start experiencing bad battery life and suddently shut down at 30-40% battery level....
I tried various full charge (even with phone shuttend down) and long time charging even after the battery indicator is full......
Nothing changed and situation get worse with phone shutting down at 60%...
After this i tried move to 4.4.2 beanstalk.....
It seems to work a little better but again phone suddently shut down during usage and start to be unable to go after boot logo (before bootanimation)
If I power on phone i see the kernel logo and when boot animation must came in phone simply shut down.....(it doesn't reboot or go in bootloop it shut down and I have to push the power button to see the same crap)
With power cable plugged in phone work without problem, but even after startup if I remove cable phone shut down after 30sec-1 min....
BUT, and this is the strange one...
If I boot in recovery i can do what i want....even withoud external power in recovery i can use phone for 30 minutes adn over without shutdown...i can flash rom and other stuff and my Xperia Z doesn't turn off....
I'ave also tried to flash a completely stock FTF with sony official kernel (4.2.2 and 4.3 versions) but nothing chage....
Leaving aside recovery...every rom i flash simply can't go after kernel logo without external power
,
I often flash new roms with cable plugged in... So, you have already done a full wipe, so try to use the battery calibration app, maybe the battery stats are corrupted.

Omg i can't believe people still try that rubbish that app does absolutely nothing as every time the phone is shut down and restarted it creates a fresh battery stats file every time.

Indeed. The option to delete batterystats.bin was removed from most custom recoveries long ago as it does nothing.

what make it worse is after several flashing ROM and fresh FTF,suddenly my phone cannot on. push the power button, its vibrate and boot till sony logo and then shutdown. if i turn it on while pluggin charger is also the same, shutdown after sony logo and repeated itself.
any suggestion?
some one said the culprit is chargemon.stock ..but i already flash a fresh FTF.and if i plug on my pc, it will automaticly boot to flashmode without me pushing vol+ button, but it will shutdown after 30sec.

Thanks so much for this information, my phone was having exactly the same issue. It's awfully hard to find this thread among all the other "battery dead" xperia z posts. I'm going to buy another phone battery from eBay now.

Try to completely empty the battery by rebooting after your phone shuts down because of low battery. Keep rebooting it after it shuts down again till it doesn't want to boot anymore. Till the battery is completely empty.
Then Charge it again and leave it on the charger for more then 20 hours.
Don't know if it's gonna work but give it a try
EDIT: Q? are you using a custom ROM ??
Ok I'll give it a try, thank you. I have this problem since i flashed a modaco firmware and wiped my battery cache via cwm. Anyone else having those issues?

Sorry, should have given more detail. That 48 hours is with general browsing and social networking with a fair bit of video recording and camera use. No 3G though. All data was over WiFi.
Certainly not just stand-by though.

i thought i had the problem too with the MDC fear 5.3 but it just jumped from 98% to 100 after 10 minutes so its probably a mistake which solved itselve if you charge it long enough.

Didn't work for me, i did it exactly this way, charged it for about 10 hours, booted in recovery, wiped the battery stats and it stills shows 97% when i boot it. However, it's not a disastrous failure, i can live with it and hopefully it gets fixed sometime.
Finally, i found the solution for me. After i reflashed the stock rom, where this problem doesn't occur, i flashed a modaco rom again WITHOUT WIPING THE BATTERY STATS. Now it's all working fine, i charged my phone to 100% a few minutes ago. Hope it will help some of the people, who are still having problems.
Does kernel version has anything to do with this issue?
Don't think so, i tried the stock, Paul's kernel from FR12 and the EternityProject Kernels 1.3 and 1.4, it was all the same until i tried reflashing without wiping battery stats. For the record, i flashed the new TK-Rom V 0.6 with the EternityProject Kernel 1.4.
Hi, maybe you can help me
Last two weeks I am having some problems behavior with my battery, after unplugging the phone from overnight charge the battery drains pretty fast, after 5 minutes goes from 100 to 97 or 95. Yesterday decided to reboot the phone when it was 92 but after that the phone reboot with 88 percent.
The day before I let the phone went to 6% and started to navigate and use some apps trying to reach 1% so I can plugged to the charger and see if the problem get solved but, after 30 minutes went from 6 to 4%
I don't know what to do
I am using battery stats since the problem started but I cannot see anything weird, also wakelock detector is going well
Any clues?
Thanks in advanced

So you are using an Xperia z.. This kind of problem is quite unseen in such a good smartphone.. Switch on your Sony pc companion and see if updates are available and if not try installing the stock firmware through pc companion.. It will show you repair your phone option... Try it.. In the meanwhile I will search if any other solution is available

Happened to me before, what i did is:
Charge your phone to 100%,unplug the charger and do a hard shutdown(volume up+power 15 seconds).
Keep it off and charge it offline till the battery animation shows full.
Unplug the charger and turn the phone on,you will notice it's not @ 100% so plug the charger again till 100% and done.
Long but good

Google services had short of 200 wakeups and system processes produced 300+ wakeups. That's already not so good for a starter. And there's the msm_hsic_host wakelock, which IIRC originates from the modem on the latest Qualcomm boards; they stupidly (?) chose to attach the modem via a usb interface which causes wakelocks, I believe.
Anyway, can you give me Better Battery Stats "Other", "Kernel wakelocks" and "Partial wakelocks" as well as "Alarms", please?

How long the "off" charge took with you, and what is the "full battery" animation?
Is it full green battery with the lightning bolt (something like on attached picture), or should it change to something different ?

Again the usb modem wakelock is there for 1h+ and 1h powermanager. Of 4h waketime you had 2h screentime.
I see AudioOut_2, appears often when having screen and ui feedback enabled. I'd suggest to disable all 4 options at the bottom at "Settings > Tones".
Do you live/work/be in an area with weak or no signal? I see 2h 44 no data connection. Could the phone be constantly searching for signal in that time?

Just to correct a misconception on battery stats. The option to wipe the batterystats.bin file was removed from newer versions of CWM (and TWRP) because it does precisely nothing that is useful.
That file is deleted and recreated every time your phone is fully charged and has no effect on the percentage of battery shown to you.

tried it, and i think this method is working!
my phone battery dropped to 13% and was still on, warning message also pop up at 15% as usual.
P.S. i charged it again at 13% coz i needed to use it, will test it later
THIS BUG CAN DO HARM TO YOUR BATTERY! BECAUSE YOU WILL NEVER KNOW WHEN THE BATTERY DRAINS!
As we all may encounter the battery bug after upgrading to .423 fw. When one restarts his phone, he has chances that the battery level of the phone rises (e.g., I turned off mine just now at 26% and turned it on showing 51%). This has been confirmed by many users in the forum, so I believe it is a firmware level bug of 4.2.2.
Is there any one willing to pay some time on fixing it? Coz this is a quite crucial bug for us, we dont know when will our phones automatically turn off! Thanks in advance
I believe its not a caliboration thing coz we also upgrade or wipe our devices before, and no such thing happened. I think its a firmware or kernel level bug. Does anyone who flashes a custom kernel also encounter the same problem?
It seems that Spanish FW is free from this bug.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43261281
plz report your rom or base FW in the reply. Thanks.
[NEW EDIT]
It seems that I fix the bug. The battery jumps when the phone restarts, so I think there is something during boot which causes the issue. I delete the XZDualRecovery, and test the phone several times, and its fine!
Deleting XZDualRecovery might be a temporary fix, so you can choose what to do
[NEW EDIT 2]
someone reports that they dont encounter the bug and believes that its the calibration thing. i declare again that i DID the calibration and the issue was still there. for me, at least, deleting XZDualRecovery fixes the bug. plz report more details in the reply, like fw, root or not, recoveries. Thank you
I don't think there is a bug here.
Never happened to me,cause i did full wipe while flashing.
Maybe it happens only for users that didn't wiped everything.

I experiencing the same issue. 2% to 55% after reboot. wow... 4.2.2 doesn't bring anything for me to consider to keep it. so back to 4.1.2 (.4.3.4)
But one thing for sure (never discharge a lithium ion / polymer battery from full to 0 they don't like it) you could do that with nickel cadmium/ metal hydride batteries ant they really thank for that if you keep doing that you just kill your battery before its due time.
Hi to all, I've trouble in this day with random reboots when I make a call or using data connection. After battery is completely drained and phone starts to bootloop.
Then when I plug the phone to the elettricity, it shows me up 50% of the battery.
If I left it in stand by or using sms, it has no reboot, if I make a call or something "strange" with 3g starts to bootloop.
What should I do? :banghead:

If I left it in stand by or using sms, it has no reboot, if I make a call or something "strange" with 3g starts to bootloop.
What should I do? :banghead:
I've dmod v6 and AMA4 baseband

Root and omnirom on SIIImini
After flashing die Rom I don't have possibilities to root my SIIImini. With CM 11 I don't have this problem.
What can I do?
It's the same on me. I flashed different rom more than one and wiped cache, data, dalvik and still reboot. Can anyone confirm that buying a new battery solve this issue?
@Gad81's right and I can confirm that it's the battery, happened to me half a year ago

I confirm it is because of a dead battery
Hi
I was going to start a new thread on this issue.
The same is happening to me. I'm using right now R-Mod by ronin790, great ROM BTW. I tried wiping dalvik and normal cache, installing different kernels and issue is still present.
Weird thing, though, when I go to recovery (TWRP 2.7.1.0 by Android-Andi) my battery doesn't drain nor the phone reboots. It stays "normal". Only when booting to system the issue starts. In my case random reboots and abnormal battery charge starts between 30-50%.
It's a shame that our batteries came out defective. I'm afraid this is not covered under warranty, right?
Best
I think not, but you can get an extended 3600mah battery from eBay. I'm currently waiting for mine
Yes, it does make the phone thicker, but it's worth the extra battery time you're going to get.
