Hi there,
I would just wanted to share what I'm using to keep phone standing in landscape mode. It's standing to enough screen pressure either with pen or finger. And since 2-3 days I'm using it without problem. If you put it good, it will stand easily.
Just if you wish, a side info
(if you don't see the picture, please refresh the page)
Pic please.
I now know why I got an extra pen lol.

Thanks for sharing that.
what are you actually doing would be helpful!
Thanks for your replies.. I've fixed the picture URL, should be shown good now.
There is another way and using this you wont even need the flip cover and can be used with any case out there.
It is pretty stable and you can use touch screen or additional spen if you wish using this as well. Pretty useful if you use high desk like I do. Even stable on the lunch trays on trains and flights. Been watching movies on flight during recent trips like this. You just need to get hang of ideal position and then its 5 second job.
Here are the pics.

Thanks for sharing this way, it looks very easy and useful in any situation. (Took my 2-3 mins to practise but really hard to find that hang-able spot. Once you're done, then pretty perfect)

Brilliant! Somebody should really notify Samsung about this and maybe they'll redesign the slot in a future version of the Note.

Interesting, looks great for a stationary desk. But will it stand the rattle and shake of a commercial airplane? Or train? Doesn't look like it. (I don't have a Note 2 yet to test)
Sometimes it's even hard to sip the coffee, let alone watch the movie on the little snack tray on cattle class.
Good tip still, tho.
Is actually stable for flight after initial ascend is over. We had minor turbulence on one of the flights and it held up well there. Thanks to my case it actually gets grip on the surface of the tray.
It just does not have enough angle to be stable during initial ascend on flights.

Yeah I'm really happy with it. It's a lot more stable than I was expecting.
The front "cradle" part has metal inside the CF so you can form it to perfectly fit your phone.
Would you ever consider making me one to sell?
Yeah I could probably do that, I'd have to check to see if I have another good piece of carbon for it though

I was just wondering, what would be the price if you were to sell one? Or maybe just the cost of goods needed to make that (mainly the carbon fiber).

Well I'm using a special CF that already has the resin sort of soaked in already so the weave doesn't come apart. I haven't seen this online anywhere so I'm not sure how much it costs.
If I were to sell one, maybe around 20 bucks shipped?

Its nice but its to general for me. But its nice that its so general you can probably use it for your next phone.
Good job.
I made a car nav mount that also acts as a pivoting desk stand. It's nice when you have it mounted in the car you can take stable video while driving without having to hold the phone.
Wow thats nice
Add me to the list if you decide to sell a few of these, I'd buy one for 20!
Very cool. I have always wanted to do some work with Carbon Fiber. I have heard mixed reviews on its difficulty factor. I think seeing this gives me more confidence to try it myself.. Thanks for posting pics!
Hi guys thought you might like to make one of these... dead easy.
Use a piece of string to hold a case from opening flat, and use the little tabs which usually hold the game / dvd booklet inside the case as perfect little feet to hold your tablet.
Just bend the booklet tabs outwards and the Nexus 7 fits PERFECTLY on them. It's funny how perfect the tablet sits on the case. It's nearly identically DVD size, if the case was just a little larger it would double as a carry case AND stand

Broke it!
I ended up making this case in much the same way, though my string was actually some spare ribbon I found on a cat toy. Worked perfectly, but I ended up breaking one of the little booklet holders on the DVD case which made my stand lopsided.
Shouldn't be a problem on the next one now that I know to push more slowly. Cool DIY, thanks!
I like this idea. I love homemade options.
Another cheap trick is to use one of the stands from a one-a-day tear off desk calendar.... you know the black plastic, with a kick stand in the back and two tabs on the front that hold up the paper, and are sold at those calendar kiosks around Christmas...... works great....once the pages are gone
This is great, thanks for sharing.

I discovered the NXE ActiveRIDE Bike Mount at a local Sports Authority for $30. Note 2 fits perfectly in it and there's plenty of room for wallet, keys, and other miscellany. Seems really well constructed, but I haven't put it through its paces yet.
I can't post a link since this my maiden post. :\
Wanted to rejuvenate this thread and see if anyone has found an acceptable bike mount for the Note 2.
I'm looking for something that ideally secures to the handle bar in either vertical or horizontal layout and, more importantly, keeps the phone enclosed while keeping screen access. If the phone isn't enclosed, it's just a matter of time before it flies out of it's carrier.
Below are two cases I've come across that meet what I'm looking for. Anyone have any experience with these or find another solution?

Arkon is releasing a new bike mount, secure and quick changeable. Also heavy duty aluminum mount. I had a chance to see in person the other day and I'll have a review in a bit. Trust me, once you see them, this will be your perfect solution for, I'm enjoying them already.
I know the note is a big phone, but I doubt it's big enough to hold a bike

http://dx.com/p/bike-protective-wat...-samsung-galaxy-note-i9220-n7100-black-175949
same as posted above different source. hopefully its big enough for me to leave my Note II in its case. it should be since it claims to hold a note i as well which is wider.
will report back with pics and review once I get it.
mopar. you got bigger balls than I do man. I would not risk my phone like that though it sure looks pretty
for my S2 and or S3 I use my modified arkon mount. VERY expensive but nice
http://www.arkon.com/accessories/smart-phone-tripod-camera-stand.html
I REMOVED the spring in the back and add an elastic band around the two halves.
this allows it to open "wider" than normal so it holds my S2 or S3 IN their hybrid multipart (heavy duty thick cases) cases without any trouble and EXTREMELY securely. the phone "can not" fall out.
I got a 1/4 threaded bike mount tripod adapter and attached the mount.
I have not tried but I do not think it opens wide enough for the Note II - at least not inside a case and i won't have it any other way.
Here is some pics of the modded arkon mount

edit: here is another one, a zip up pouch style that specifically says it works on the Note 2

How does it fit and work now that its springish, have you tested it out on a ride yet? Does it have sufficient space for a headphone jack to plug in and also how is the manuevering with that plastic screen in front. I'd love to have an option where i can store keys and wallet especially while riding. Wish I would have looked here first as I just ordered this yesterday pm if interested

Yea. Had to remove the bottom brace but it pops right off. If you offset the phone a little you can avoid the volume and power buttons. Just be sure everything is good and tight. Have a case on mine so I didnt use the extra inserts they provide. Gonna slap a NFC sticker on it tomorrow since I decided thats going to be my long term mount.
The work truck I use is very rough on anything mounted. Im not kidding my truck eats anything it dosnt like. This mount once set is rock solid im still impressed.

Got mine today. I like how it's made just wish the release button was on the side and it didn't block the display of my radio.
Does no one seem to mind it severely limits the use of the controls to the head unit?
In fact, I would say it's a danger while driving that you would have to look at the controls for some time to manoeuvre your fingers around it to touch a radio preset button etc.

It depends on where your cd player is. I never mess with things when I'm driving just when I'm stopped. I don't even talk on my phone that much in the car. It's crazy what you see people doing while driving these days. Saw a lady reading a book the other day. Yikes!

Got this a few days ago for $30 on ebay and love it. I honestly couldn't go with anything other than magnetic - it's so easy and convenient to just quickly sit your phone against the mount or pull it back for texting at a light, etc. There really isn't much to say since the concept is pretty simple. The suction base works well on my textured dash and the magnet grips well. I haven't used it on a race track or anything but I don't take corners or always accelerate super slow either and the phone never budges. It's also great that the dock works with any phone so if you share your car or get a new device, you don't have to change mounts or have more than one. The only way it could be improved is if it had wireless charging built in too (though for verizon versions this wouldn't help most). But the phones battery is good enough that it shouldn't need to be plugged in for any trips that aren't very long anyways.
Also, I recommend the free app "IntelliScreen" with this. The app makes it so the screen won't timeout when certain apps are up on the screen (and it does some other stuff too). I made it so the music and maps app don't timeout so that I don't have to constantly hit the screen button while driving to see and control things.

I'm not positive but when the phone is put around half an inch from it or so, it easily sticks to the mount. It's not strong enough where it's difficult to pull off, but I actually believe I could go to a race track and record video from my phone's camera while it is on the mount and not have any problems with it moving/falling. I had seen the imagnet at first on amazon and was going to get that, but this one doesn't look like it's an iphone accessory so I won't have people asking/thinking I have an iphone that I give rides to, if I don't put my phone on it.

I didn't think of the spen because I don't ever really use it. I just tried it out and it doesn't work where the magnet is. However, it's so quick to take it off the mount and imo it's a lot more convenient to write/draw on it in your hand, so it shouldn't be a problem for a lot of people if not most. Navigation and everything else still works though.
I will also get a picture of the phone on the mount tonight.
