HTC Desire HD Silverback™

Hola!
I got bored today and decided that i was really tired of the fugly brown-ish color on my Desire HD, so i removed it and voila! I haven't polished it, but i think the industrial look looks good! And yes i know the back now looks like the first iPhone

I think it needs a nice emblem on the back. Something with a matte finish.

Btw, i did break one thing...i think.. When i removed the part with the LEDs i managed to break one of the GPS connectors (if that was it), but i haven't tested the GPS yet so i don't know. But i never use the GPS so it's not that big of a deal really

I still want to do it when i have some spare time, probably next week.
But how did you protect the plastic arround the LED's? Tape it off? Or did you leave all the plastic parts on the device and sanded arround it?

Looks nice I also like unpolished (Did on m Desire Z back ) Shame SGS2 has a plastic one

No I mean like they have in the one thread where the guy actually put "XDA DEVELOPERS" and the Android logo. Screw apple. Have the Android screwing the apple for all you like, it's your phone lol

I removed all the plastic and used tape on and around the screen and the opening at the bottom with the SIM and SD.
- I used a sand paper (P240)
- Then a 3M "Fine" sanding sponge ((Pic)
- Then i used a very fine nagel file sponge (pic)

The GPS antenna is behind the LED cover so when i removed it i saw that one of the gold connectors was bent, so i was trying to bend it back and then a piece of it snapped
I'll try the GPS tomorrow and see if it's totally useless or not.

Aha! You have to remove the battery cover and the battery, then you'll need to use a long thin thing and press a clip and then the cover will lift itself up a little, and then you use another thin "thing" and "unhook" the other clips.
There are some videos on YouTube that shows you how to do it, but be VERY careful so you don't break it.

Does it come any other colors?

It must've just gotten put up. It doesn't have any colors yet. I'm going to wait till August 10th because I have a feeling there will be other cases available that are similar to this.

This does not mention ability to act a a stand either..I'll wait, the perfect case is coming!

the creases make it look like it has stand function but there are no pictures of it using the stand. That would be the determining factor for me. I need it to have a case that stand up.

I have one from that same manufacturer for my ipad and it's quite nice!

I like it! Thanks for posting this. I'll bookmark it and wait for the price to drop.

If i can use it as a stand and it comes in COLORS... then we might have a winner

that's the one for me. Hope it's available in Amazon UK.

Best case so far. Shame that we never get a front only case , but i hope we get something close. I quite like the back as is, without adding an additional case.

really? the only similarity i can see, is that it is a case for the nexus 7...

That's definitely what I've been looking for too. Just need too make sure the cover folds all the way back and it works well as a stand.

Bro,in fact I can't see the photo of your case mentioned,Yet in my impression that otterbox defender could be a best choice if you're of a good attention on brand cases,otherwise,protective cases from China also do good job on protection as well as design, we heard a lot on ROCK Case and HOCO case, and icarer etc brand from China, their case also have distinctive style even you have a strict eyes on fashion, generally speaking,ROCK always in line with a fashion style,HOCO pay attention on genuine leather case series and icarer have some similar elements with HOCO,anyway,I'm also a fans of Samsung Note 2 and armed my GN2 with a HOCO genuine leather case with flip cover,I should say it's a case I'm looking for as you could also see here:

I got the same case, it's very hot sexy and it fits right on the phone.....don't add any bulk...it's only good for scratches, and dust....or keys, just like a screen protector....enjoy it.

I think it's called the invisi-barely-there case.

Acrylic dock for nexus 10 and pogo cable

Hello,
After a long search on the internet to find a dock for my nexus 10 and my pogo cable, I decided to make my own.
I started by making some prototypes made with a sheet of depron and then I made my first with acrylic.

Simple, nice looking and functional. Is it "unmountable"? I mean, you get the pieces and put it togheter, and you can undo it? I would also be interested in this thing (15€ + shipping looks like a good price to me).
Just for help, you can ask some labs to produce this for you if you can model pieces in AutoCAD. I have seen them use the same machine they use with waveguides and PCBs, Maybe you can find some company that accepts this kind of works in metacrilate (not sure if correct word) or PCB material.

Haha harsh, I don't find the case bad looking lol and idk though I myself have a hard time trusting cases not made by otterbox or ballistic, at least when it comes to ruggedized cases with dual layers

I was pretty much planning to alter it if I ended up buying it. Basically to remove the flap that covers the bottom, and I had no intentions to use a screen protector.
I have quite a few different cases I was looking at, but this was just a curiosity

Personally though, not a fan of these types of cases. They're really bulky and I think they completely ruin the look of the phone and makes it look cheap.

I don't sell anything online. I'm just looking for something that with offer a decent amount of protection. I don't want a lot of bulk, but I want something that is sturdy enough offer that much. I've seen drops cracking the screen and figured I may as well look for a case to pop the phone in when I get it. I don't usually punish my phones, but I figured I'd rather be safe than sorry.

i have the otterbox defender. I dropped it onto my garage floor from about shoulder height, not really sure how, just did, and the phone landed pretty much on the corner and the phone was fine.
got it off ebay for 40.

I was looking at the otterbox too. Not too sure though. Ob are usually really bulky. :/
