I am planning to buy a Windfire but the thing that would make it stand up for me (instead of a BADA powered phone) is support for flash 10 from adobe. Here on forum there is a ported flash version for Android 2.1 here.
My worry is that the Wildfire does not have the steam to run in a reasonable way flash enabled sites. I've seen demos on Desire and flash was running ok. Did anyone tested it ?
Well, the stock flash does not play any videos. (There is a youtube app, but dailymotion and others I tested are not supported and won't play in the browser.)
I did try listening to an engadget (embedded flash) podcast, but it was waaaaay slower than preferrable and even lagged (i.e: every 1-2 secs, it seemingly stopped for 1/10th).
Again, this was with the stock flash. (I don't have the phone any more.)
It works on wildfire Rom ported for HTC Tattoo, with lesser hardware, so I'd imagine it'll be fine

But Jacob stated that it works on the Tattoo and this has the same processor as the Wildfire?
Thanks mate!

We used flash 10.1 ported for Sense on Android 2.1 on a Wildfire ROM which had been ported to Tattoo, which has the same CPU and resolution.
i have flash 10.x on 2.1 rom. will release a beta in a few so ppl can test
If it works on eclair and sense, would it be possible to port to froyo?

Should be, I was looking through the 2.2 ROM and it seems possible
I thought it wouldn't work due to the CPU

Use gingerDX as ur ROM..
Launcher pro as ur launcher
and use overclock to get smoothness on ur phone...
Using ram manager or supercharger won't hurt either.
Sent from my... I forget.
My opinion:
1.Dont use different launchers(use the Rom lanchuer)you install GDX use that installed launcher
2.You can use Ram manager or supercharger
3.Overclock it
4.Use fast and smooth rom
5.thats it,if i remember of something else will write it down
freeze (at least) unneeded system apps. uninstall unused user apps. no live wallpapers for me. odex if needed. simple yet effective.
just try some roms here. GDX, FroyoPro, Haka's Prime...just be carefull not to get flash addicted like us here
I wonder, even if I HAD the perfect rom, could I not try to change it or flash a new one?
LOL

Lol, Im already a flash addict mate, been flashing phones since very early days of XDA
I use PrimeHD v8 (stock kernel), with default launchers. No overclock, and minimal(only a must have) app installed. it works great, with no lags. and I enjoy it.
I also had RAM Manager installed. It helps a lot!

yes, i supposed so. Im think all senior members are. Just I was launching in the abiss....
Me, after trying all there is for stock, locked bootloader, I have to say that FroyoPro is the one answering my demands.(I mean over 1700 in Antutu, and over 600 for 2d)
Of course GDX and PrimeHD are also good, but in my oppinion they do not bring out the best in our X8, and ro support that is enough to compare test results in Froyo and Ginger.

hi friendz..
can any one tell me which one is the best STOCK ROM for gaming(games like nfs, dead space...etc hd games..)
im using gingerDX v028 now but the dead space game in closing after sometime :crying::crying:
plzzzzz tell me mates....
For those games u mentioned : none of them
Playing those games with custom kernel & popular performance ROMs is a pain.(nearly impossible)
Now consider playing them with stock kernel under the hood.
Is it important how did i send this?
I'm not playing games so much, but you can try my ROM MV3,but it isn't uploaded yet. I think it's great for gaming!

He means Stock 2.1.1. Eclair rom is the best for gaming.
+ 1 to that. I also used a long time stock 2.1.1.C.0.0., enable everything using x8toolbox (it becomes almost like matej's rom) and do not forget to update Busybox to the latest, and SU to 3.1. Surprisingly, stock rom is the only one to support busybox bigger, like 19. The other roms still use old version and they brick if you try to update.
But still, there is another Rom with very good behaviour, and I think slightly better than stock in gaming, even I did not try all games: FroyoPro by Irakkarl. It scores better in Antutu as well, even if 2d is smaller, but the 3d values are close to 500 which is great.
Cheers,

Yeah that changes everything. But that won't chang the nature of our device... playing DEAD Space in x8?
No multi touch (not cypress)
Adreno 200
256 MB RAM
max 825 mhz armv6
3.0 inch display
That doesn't make sense 4 me

yup, you would be right, but the issue here I think is a bit diferent (angle): is it working?
DEADSPACE runs in stock and also FroyoPro. All GB roms that I have tried FC. So at least it works. and that's stock [email protected], no OC...

I have install busybox to latest 19. ...,but I can't install xrecovery then. So I install 18... and it's works.
I had everything installed by x8toolbox, including busybox 1.19.4 and dual recovery and it worked on stock....see that also new update for 1.20., did not try yet.

If no, well, can anyone here suggest the best kernel for ICS based ROM for our IncS in term of performance and battery life. Thanks in advance.
XS-ICS.
What's the benefit of this kernel over another? I am sorry I am also new to this. If you can just provide some high level overview

Hi. From my point of view, each kernel has it's own advantages and disadvantages in terms of performance, battery life and etc. For custom kernel like X2 ICS (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851121), you can overclock your IncS to higher CPU speed but PLEASE bare in mind, even though our device is the same, but that doesn't mean the optimized value to overclock is the same. My suggestion, please look carefully for pro n cons for each kernel in the forum because some kernel is not supported for certain ROMs. For me, I just flashed ICS Sense G11 v2.0.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1887379) and it went smoothly with my Android Revolution HD 3.01 ROM.
I have used a couple of custom ICS ROMs (Nik's and IceCold) and I find that the following gives the best choice of governors, clocking variability and battery life.
Choosing the right governor and clock speed will of course impact on your performance.
Also recommend XS ICS 2.2... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851121

Hello,
I'm new here and I'm looking for a good stable rom for my daily use (fully functional) and most importantly stable , I'm actually tired of how my phone performs on the stock rom, I would like to have fast and smooth performance. Is there anything possible? Help and suggesstions will be highly appreciated.
I'm using the Rogers HTC Raider 4G.
Regards.
No one?
I think the best way to do it is to try each one for a couple of days, while making notes about their pros & cons. One person could tell you that one rom is the best, while another could tell you a different rom is the best. It's all up to you.

This is a developers forum, there are a lot of roms here for one device, I'm not a developer, I'm just an individual looking for one or two. All I'm saying is that, a developer has knowledge and experience, if a developer would care to suggest one or two, I would be out of the scenario of trying each one, because for a daily user like me, it would be a pain. You know what I'm saying, right?

OK...
I hate to do this...
But
CM 11 is nice and stable... But old...
PAC 4.4.4 is stable-ish... Has some bugs... But its in nightlies... So bugs come and go...
Ressurection Remix is really nice and stable... But very old... So you'll have some compatibility issues with things...
Any of the CM 10.2 ROMs are bad battery drainers due to old kernel issues...
Ditto for the CM 10 ROMs...
I hate sense... But any of the sense based ROMs are really stable... If you go with those... Kozmik's kernel is very nice... The senseless sense ROMs are a little messy... But very usable...

One more thing, the CM 11 is the 4.2.2 Rom isn't it? I've seen it on some Raiders these days, is it good for daily use?
Thankyou again.

I'm restricted to post in the other thread, is Kozmik's kernel compatible with the stock ICS sense 3.6 rom?
And if so, is it possible to flash it via fastboot through pc? Because I'm currently S-on and don't plan to go S-off.
Mentioning again that I have a Roger's HTC Raider.
