Need some help with a boot animation?

So im making a boot animation and I have all the png pictures labeled in order and in a "part0" folder. Is there anything else that needs to be added to the zip in order for the boot animation to work? Also would anyone like to be my "guinea pig" to test it since im not rooted? The animation is the Xbox 360 ring of lights animation.

the most important part is when you zip it to chose "store"

removing boot animation

is there a way to remove boot animation ?
debug.sf.nobootanimation ?

it looks like the animation is stored in /system/media/video/shutdown as a series of PNG's
I guess you could replace them all with a black image and the animation would no longer display on boot just a black screen.
Alternatively you could replace the PNG's with your own animation. I might try it later tonight.

Going along with this does anybody know where the boot audio file is....... i like the boot animation but hate the boot sound.

Also, in /system/media/audio/ui you can find a whole lot of interesting soundfiles to play with

deleted the startup and shutdown noise.... was annoying me.

a little tip for how to do this:
open a terminal, I use BetterTerminal and type

su
for getting superuser permission because poweron is a system file
Code:
mv /system/etc/PowerOn.wav /system/etc/PowerOn.wav[B]old[/B]
rename the file just in case you want it back
than you can verify with Astro if everything has worked fine.

to complete this, if you don't like the animation do this as root:
mv /system/bin/playlogos1 /system/bin/playlogos1.BAK

How to disalbe screen-on animation?

Hi,
I'm on V20L and the screen-on effect is very slow.
So, how can I remove the screen-on effect (only this)?

Just delete the bootanimation.zip file in system/media folder. This will show the default animation (ANDROID).
If you want to disable, i mean, no animation, the apk Root Toolbox can do that (Advanced - Disable boot animation).

I don't mean the bootscreen, I mean the animation when I turn the display on (after standby).
Which xml in the framework-res.apk do I have to edit?

are you talking about the setting in Cyanogen, display animation On and Off?

I don't use CM, but my problem is solved:
I added CRT animation in my framework, and now the screen on animation is super smooth.

hi, im currently trying to create a boot animation for my HD+ but i dont know what size to make it in. the screen resolution is 1200x1920 but that cant be the resolution of the boot so what should it be?? if it is does that mean that i have to use a boot with that resolution?? im trying to use the android green gears boot from an eeepad transformer which has a resolution of 1280x800. any and all help is greatly appreciated! thanks in advance.

find and download that animation (if you have not already)
It should be called animation.zip, open it to see if it contains a folder or several folders and a txt file,
if it does you're good to go.
then using es file explorer or some file manager with root access, navigate to /system/media/
you'll see a boot animation.zip in there, rename it .bak or something else, then copy your animation.zip
there and set the permissions to rw-- r--- r---
reboot your tab and it should play.
I just changed my nook hd+ boot animation to the jellybean animated X.

[Q] Sometime No see Bootanimation.

I am currently working on some boot animations.
I could change bootanimation .zip file.
However, Sometimes..(about 50%) I can't see bootanimation on boot time and play music only.
Tell me cause, please..
