Hi, I've rooted my new Kindle7 and changed my lock screen etc.
I was wondering, how can I check which version of Android I'm running and you update it easily? If so, what Android version do people recommend?

Can anyone help in understanding what is wrong with JD?
I'm using a GT - P1000, Clockwork Recovery and Cyanogenmod 10 Jellybean 4.1.2.
JuiceDefender is the beta version.
I heard the Ultimate version might be able to work properly... Is that true?
Any other suggestions?

clear cache, clear data and DON'T restore your profile when you get back on it.
also i have jd ultimate beta runing on my tab p1000 aokp rom no problems.

Also, I almost forgot, I think the nightly rom is from November 2012 or December.
Do you think upgrading to the latest rom would help?

As I am tinkering with my tablet, I wanted to make a stock ROM with the use of the XDA guide. Unfortunately that did not work and I bricked my tablet.
Fortunately I bought the same tablet for my mother and I was able to use a twrp backup to get my tablet up and running again... After installing and deinstalling twrp.
But, her tablet had an error in updating the Acer patch, hence my tablet has the same problem as well.
So now I am looking for a stock ROM for the tablet, which has no problem updating or is already updated with lollipop and the stagefright patch.
Does anybody know where to find it? On Google I can only find some shady sites...

Many thanks to you bg100106, i was able to get my tablet running again. I just want to ask the others if you were able to update your build number to 1.015.01?
So I am on version 6.4 with ads removed and root enabled. I remember reading about 6.6 locking the bootloader and everyone not updating their device.
This is where I have been out of the loop. Has the latest update with band 12 been given the green light to update?

I am in the same situation. Everything is working fine on 6.4 debloated except no security updates. I don't want to risk upsetting that apple cart but if there was a way to get the security updates I would love to.

Just flash this in twrp on top of the rom. I was on 6.4 and now i'm on 7 without wiping anything. No problems.

Did what you said and upgraded just fine. VoLTE seems to not work but it seems others are having the same problem as me.
The rom works fine. In about it shows android security update to Oct 5, 2016. It shows as version 6.0 though. Is it 7? I did the update to get security update. Not sure what other differences there are to 6.4. Anyone know?

The difference is just security updates and band 12. This phone will probably never see version 7.0 of Android.

Xposed is out of the question. It is not available for 7.0. There are a few tuts but you will have to root and I am not sure if it is available for 7.x at all.
