ICS+CAMERA
sample Video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVoxtLPoxXg&feature=youtu.be
for Stock ROM ICS.
we need for installation
1.Phone should have root
2.Phone should have installed busy box
3.The phone is connected to a computer with USB deburg mode
4.Open the archive and press install_camera_mod
wait untill the process will be finished.
This mode will be good working with ICS+ OR ICS FREE CAMERA in MARKET
If you ICS+ OR ICS FREE CAMERA will install this mode will be working perfectly, if you use JB CAMERA bitrate will be twice as bad
After this library originally camera works better too
This mode works with (2X mod)1920x1088 bitrate 38000 and 24 frame second and with continouos autofocus
mod (normal) 1920x1088 bitrate 19000 and 24 frame second and with continouos autofocus
Dont forget press thank you

Great!!
What about increasing audio quality (also decreasing a bit the video quality -38K maybe is unnecessary high -)?
Maybe, at least at 720p, you could increase audio quality to:
bitrate: at least 125kbps
sample rate: 44kHz

How abt 30fps? Is it possible because. Kernel camera driver supports 30fps natively.

all the pictures are blurry and the videos taken with the camera stops eventually for half a second (I guess this is because of the stock sdcard).
Is there any possibility to improve the camera performance to get clean pictures?
Thank you in advance,
Haitzo
I've no problem with my camera (good picture) or for video recording (except strange ration for 720p).
I think it's maybe your LG black who has defect ?
I agree with guyTam
I mean with not good light conditions, all the pictures are blurry. I have read the same problem on other users. The video issue is probably because of the stock sd card.

That's with all phone cameras. They only work in perfect conditions. Sensor is too small for quality photo taking. Maybe with some Carl Zeiss, yes, you will get some nice looking photos.
Does that happen when you take landscape photos or with closer objects too?
I had similar problems with video recording but since started to use NOVA ROM, I don't any more. I have stock SD card.
No problems taking photos to landscapes, just in interiors and night pictures. I am using Pays rom, do you recommend me using nova? I am reading the thread and I thinks is still a little bit buggy?
Thank you
They both work better than stock. Tried both, I like Nova ROM more because of longer (by a lot) battery life. I don't play games so I don't know if they perform different speed wise. There is some bug with SD card but that's all.
If there will be some update for camera app, it will be from LG in next update (I hope). I don't think that anyone else can make any tweaks for stock app. Maybe some other app with filters like unsharp mask in Photoshop could do the trick.

that's what i've noticed also... whenever i take videos and play them on the phone's video player, it looks fine, but when i transfer it to my laptop it looks kinda weird.
btw, the 5mp camera takes very nice stills. best one i had so far.
yeah because the lens sensor is too small; ƒ, shutter speed, can't be compared to real camera & the preview is only 4 inches resized to 800x480 obviously it looks good on phone, for excellent result you may not move/shake at all while taking a shot (if it possible, use a tripod). if the outdoor light is not enough... it can't be helped. ISO adjustment just makes your result even worse. here the example for outdoor shot from my phone:

I agree this one....the video format should be mp4.
I dont know what I did, But i just installed the stock rom after removing Nova. And surprisingly, the camera is taking awesome clicks. No speed lags for shutter/review. Aspect ratios seem fine for videos. And the video quality is amazingly improved.
Did someone just mention that Nova has better battery life ? What about pays ? hows the battery life on that ?
At first: http://groleo.wordpress.com/2012/07/31/jelly-bean-codec-infrastructure/
Here we can take: https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_hardware_qcom_media/tree/jellybean/libstagefrighthw and adapt from msm7x30 to msm7x27
Who have any info about codec related problem can share it right here
what about ics?

Forgive me for offtop, but, if we will have codecs the video in youtube will works and we will have the working camcorder? And what about zoom?
ohh...wtf!
WE DO NOT HAVE OPTICAL ZOOM!!!!
we just have digital, and the "zoom" effect is only made by reducing px/quality.
(btw: why no ics? cuz 4.2 is already around the corner maybe?)

I think ICS/JB have same codec architecture
Instead of porting the codecs from msm7x30 we could try to replace them with a ffmpeg based codec. I'm not much of a programmer, but take a look at these:

What about MX Player? Videos work just fine with it using software decoder on ICS/JB. You can even even watch YouTube videos.
http://limoa.sourceforge.net/node
im no android dev, but decoding and encoding arent the same thing.
(bad) example: to build a house need months. afterwards looking how it looks need some minutes.
you have to compress the raw data from "cam" into a (more or less) little file.
currently im compressing 72,5GB of raw video data. using x264 and a phenom 2 x3 i need around 45min. BUT: the vid is opend in seconds and lasts around 15 min.
i hope i could explain it.
Guys, relax software cant replace hardware decoding, understand that we want hardware decoding to work, if it works cam too will work, ics and jb have same, if we get it done on ics, it will work on jb too.
A little more info on hardware decoding, but this is just for knowledge ( but few technical aspects are there )

My experience with FOCAL recording videos at 120 fps. With a resolution of 1080p is video is useless (extremely pixelated) like you said, but I got better results by reducing the resolution to 720p. The only problem is that the audio is not synchronized (sounds at the beginning of the video at normal speed).
However this is the only app that works recording videos to a fps greater than 30.

also i have take video with this app but i didnt upload
sorry for bad topic
it sounds great, but the link of the apk doesn't work
Link doesnt work, attach it to post or set to gdrive. Some people just doesnt like unknown upload sites
I see that you used libs from other forum, it would be nice if you add link to original topic.
Also having working app and having good results are two different things, so maybe you could post sample or at least post info from it(framerate, bitrate, res etc.)
As I said in other topic, technically XZ is capable to record 120fps videos. Oppo Find 5 have the same chip and camera sensor like XZ, and it record slomo videos, but Sony just didnt implement it, and none of Devs knew how to port this from oppo or fix it. Its just one of many Sony fails :]
link repaird sorry for late
and akinaro sony xperia z can record 60frame in slowmotion and this app recording 60frame
And that's why it not real time shift /slomo video.
Video should be recorded at minimum of 100fps to get good results.
At stock 60fps you can just record normal video and slow it down with any video app.
Later I'm gonna try this mod, but I don't expect anything special because of that limitation that sony made without a reason.

For your info guys. The 60fps is actually 30fps, only the camera distributes it as 60fps, because in fact the camera apk is meant for Pixel devices. For 30fps+ recording we'd need a tweaked software. There was a guy who enabled the 60fps and even 120/320fps on Nexus 5. The developer of LCamera (search on github).

60fps (only 720p) is real. Not is slowmotion, but video @60fps.

Does it mean that it records 60frames pet second? It's a software limitation, that could only be enabled through reverse engineering.

I have doubts too. but if you can sense the difference of 30fps and 60fps when recording, it has a very good chance 60fps working.
Better put the video on PC to check it, or MX player.
you are right.... even if the properties of the file is assigned 60fps, the video is not fluid seen on pc
I took the same video at 30 and 60 fps ..... They have the same kbps!
