Hi, guys. I have the canadian Lg optimus 2x
tired of the leggy stock 2.3.4 rom. Want to use ICS
Is there any really stable rom I can use?
For this, ( canada is not supported)?

I have to flash a service pack, but how to flash a service pack?

According to the above post, the Canadian O2X is called P999 (G2X). Flashing a P990 ROM will likely cause a brick to your device.

That's not necessarily correct... Canadian O2X may very well be P990hn (you can still get it today from Fido), which works just fine with any P990 ROM. P999 is another model for AWS frequencies used by Wind in Canada.

I am not sure what you mean by "not supported"... True, V30 (either A or B) has not been officially released for Canada (or North America, for that matter), but both versions actually work in Canada. V30B (unlike V30A) doesn't have a Canadian English language option, but US English is still there. I am currently running a clean stock V30B, and I am happy with it. However, I would refrain from recommending a particular ROM, as it's mostly a personal choice...

One if a froyo based rom and the other is a gingerbread leaked rom.
Biggest difference is in battery life and speed

I think there wasn't any difference at all. I ran V20e for some reason when I got mine and for some crazy idea that I want to test 'if LG really sucks at software' notion I tried to update, I went back to V10e running at 2.2.2
Very bad mistake

i disagrre with u bro..its very difference between 10e and 20e, 10e for froyo n 20e for gingerbread.all system between those versions is very different too
There are a few differences.
1. 10E is official 20E is a leaked rom.
2. 10E is Froyo 20E is Gingerbread.
3. As stated in 1. the only one actually supported by LG is 10E so flashing 20E will remove your warranty.
Of course there are more differences then these but then a normal Gingerbread vs Froyo thread will serve for that purpose.

Yeah I know, what I meant was there was no difference with performance. I mean yeah V10e is froyo and V20e is GB so its really a huge difference on system but on the performance, not so much. Sorry if that made a misconception or something.

No, flashing custom rom on your LG phone doesn't void your warranty. This was stated directly by LG Italy.
Yes i can confirm it me too.
Custom Roms don't touch the warranty.only if you brick or damage your phone installing a custom will be customer fault.
But if you have an hardware problem and you have a custom Rom you're ok.

Okey, I wrote supported by LG first. But okey.. Maybe Italy is different from the rest of the world. And its free to flash and still keep your warranty's intact. But if they by any means find any reason to why your flashing is the fault for breaking the device you will be the one paying the repairs. And normally they do "find" stuff like that. I my self ended up paying the repairs on a laptop because it was linux on it and not vista. (And here you think your free to install whatever OS you want on a pc.)
PS local agreements may vary to make sure contact your local LG office.
I was wondering if anyone knew what the differences (if any) there are between these 2 models?
Essentially, they appear to be the same, but I am reluctant to apply a P970 ROM to my wife's P970g in fear of bricking it. BTW, the P970g is on Telus in Canada.
Anyone have any thoughts on the subject?
The version belongs to Telus carrier from your Country bundled with Skype App, also known as LG Optimus Black Skype Edition. Hardware = same.

Awesome that's good news. Does that mean it should be able to handle Nova or CM7?

Are there any special precautions? Are you using that Euro V10e on the Telus network?
Thanks!

I just follow the upgrade guide and try a few times, no issues. I am on Rogers.
Hi, I've just bought an OB and my carrier, Telcel-Mexico, has released GB, but many people are complaining in the LG mobile Mexico FB page that this release has many bugs, apparently due to being V20a (LG is only stating it is V20, no suffix). Can anyone describe the differences between V20a, V20n and any other official release? Do you guys know if v20a is in fact buggy?
Thanks in advance.
I don't know if the verison is buggy. But i tried too. My country also has V20a version. I didn't see any bugs. But i saw this. In V10b there were stupid programs of the GSM company which brought the phone to my country. In V10c some of them gone. In v20a none of them exists but there are still some stupid programs that only exists in our rom. the tech guys here install it i guess. And also our V20a doesn't have FM radio. Since v10b we don't have that.
So i flashed V20b from the thread. Only had default crappy Lg apps. i removed them. It's very stable. Has FM radio. Haven't encountered any bug yet. Bu my battery doesn't last a day. The programs i use has a contribution on that too but still... First i thought the a,b,c,n,..x letters are only for dividing, you know "a" for these countries, "n" for those, for language packages an etc.. But now i see the further the letter the better the rom. Not %100 true but %90 true in my opinion.

I tried to buy from China original LG P970, but I got a counterfeit
The body and some parts was taken from the P970, but the mainboard was of the KU5900. Be careful! When you have a guess that you get a phone like my, in this case I can help renew ROM and get root, without losing Baseband, SIM and IMEI. Feel free ask me.
Sorry for my bad english...

Hi everyone.
I have an LG P880 (LG 4X HD) that I bought in Peru, it came with Android 4.0.3 I (V10b). I want to upgrade to JB to unlock the bootloader but in the list of official updates my country is not listed.
Someone told me that it can be an issue with the frequencies, Peru uses 850Mhz/1900Mhz bands like American countries but many other countries (including those of the official update list) use 900Mhz/1800Mhz.
My question is: There would be any problem if I upgrade using the file from another country?
My phone is rooted
Thanks to all comments.
PS: Sorry for my English.
