OK so I got two nexus 4's and I just moved to T-Mobile and honestly I need two more phones and it kinda doesn't make sense to buy any used phone with the nexus price so low.
So if I was to get a replacement and hypothetically dropped it and wanted to keep my phone could Google just charge me for it and I get to keep it. It kinda the same as buying it right.

Lol its kind of a good idea i don't feel like there's anything morally wrong about it except lying to get the first RMA cause its not like he's not gonna pay for it and yea he's skipping the line but he already waited too but hey that's just my two cents bro just make sure they don't ruin your credit when u keep it Lol

I mean this is hardly fraud Google made it this way. I have no problem paying for the phone.

Well I cracked the rear of my nexus 4, not sure how but a crack appeared. I sent it to my insurance who accepted the claim, but are trying to fob me off with a S3 as a replacement. Even though the S3 is alot older than the Nexus they seem to think its the same specfications. Annoying

What kind of insurance are you talking about? Insurance through a carrier, third party insurance like Square Trade, or something like renter's insurance? Whichever it is, it seems pretty dodgy. My experience with insurance providers is that they can do/not do whatever they feel like. If it isn't something huge like a house or a car, I don't usually buy insurance for just that reason.
My bank provides me phone insurance through aviva

was it really necessary to open a thread for this ?
It would seem that they are offering you this s3 because they might not have any nexus 4 to give you.

Accept S3. Sell it. Buy N4. Profit.

If they can't replace it, then they should simply cut you a check to buy it again (minus the deduction). The S4 is more similar then the S3.
Tell them you want an S4 or $350.
The S3 is similar to the Galaxy Nexus (last gen).
I love the Nexus Line, but with the S4 being AOSP now, I wouldn't mind picking up the S4.

that's why SquareTrade is awesome...and only it's $6 a month
I would only accept the s3 if you can somehow sell it and get a Nexus 4 again

You wouldn't make enough money back. The change from the old to the new isn't exactly warranted for the price. Isn't it 230? I paid 200 for mine and it's insured til 2015 of March.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Nah, not different enough for an upgrade. Good for new buyers though.
I just sold mine to a family member at $150 getting the new N7 in a few days.

I'd sell mine in a heartbeat if I could get $150 for it. I checked a couple places on Friday and the best price for "trade-in" was $65. I'm not giving it up for that.

Bought my N7 for £185. Sold it a month or so ago for £130 - before the announcement of a new N7 dented the resale value some more.
That's £50 to have a Nexus 7 for about a year which is a bargain.
Might buy a new N7, might not. My HTC One is fulfilling a lot of my app needs.
If I did buy another tablet it would probably be a 10" one.
I would sell it but not many people want the old one now that the new one has been released
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I did, and I'm glad I did. The new one is better in every way.
I don't have an old N7, but I'm considering selling my ipad mini for a new N7.

Don't consider that option, just do it. The Nexus tablets are better in every way imaginable. Besides, you'll have money left over and can buy a keyboard case or an additional warranty on your Nexus 7. Or go out to dinner, lol.

If it had a better screen, maybe. Current iPad mini is crap
I would like to upgrade to the 7.2 but my wife won't allow it as it's still running fine and dandy.
TBH I only want it for the screen.

while i think the new N7 is a great deal, i think i'm going to skip this one. based on my usage of the first gen model, it still gets the job done. at their price point it certainly makes upgrading every year feasible, but i think i'm going to wait until v3 to upgrade again.
Nope, I'm not. (;
The only thing I'm jealous about the new one, is that it has a notification LED.. Except this, no need to upgrade...

Stickin with my trusty nexus 7. Still gets the job done so no reason to upgrade.

If better LTE is something you're interested in.. Then trade.. I'd jump on it if a friend would offer me that trade. HTC One destroys it in almost all other categories though.

Agreed. But if they did....I would like to give LG a spin I think.
D
Never had much loyalty to any brand. Whatever is the best, or one of the best phones in two years will be my upgrade.
I know it won't be a Samsung though. Unless they do a 180 in regards to phone build quality.
not lg if i could id get a sony phone they have very good support for devs, but then again the note series is awesome...
I would probably go nexus and GSM carrier
I would also hold onto to my one until it stops working

Tmo for me too
T-Mobile and Nexus probably, although I wouldn't mind holding onto my One to use it as a voice/text (+bad 3G) phone.
hmm, maybe Moto once Google does their thing....
Wouldn't matter, my purchase is not dictated by brand.

How about making a ONE Max 10" tablet first
Lol cuz never going to happen.
But if they sold out, then my next phone will certainly be an HTC One Max
Nexus or moto or Oppo. Samsung's phones have gotten so flimsy looking and feeling.
Sony's phones are laggy as hell. I've never really trusted LG, but I have no reason for that, so that would be my fourth choice.
Nexus or Moto as well for me. Might go that way even if HTC doesn't sell out.
Sent from my One using Tapatalk 4
Nexus, moto, sony, oppo. LG seems like too much of an also-ran to me- maybe the G2 will change that, though . And Samsung is just... Just no.
No OEM loyalty, though.

since they were all over the leaks before launch, now everybody is just silent about the bad joke that is actually getting your phone in your hands.

It went up for sale, I ordered it, and then 4 days later it showed up on my doorstep. What's the story?
Why would they fill a blog with the fact that the nexus 5 sold well and are in short supply. It happens with lots of phones. Nothing new here.

This because it depends a lot on where you are and the stock levels as well...
Some people have a great experience but don't necessarily need to go on a forum to shout about it...
For what it's worth, in the UK, I ordered mine on a Thursday afternoon, received it the next day
The blogs and sites didn't report this either..

I don't think it's as big of an issue as you perceive it to be. I think the majority of people who ordered got their phone in a reasonable time. But LG can only crank these things out so fast, once Google's warehouse runs out, some unlucky people are gonna wind up waiting for the next shipload to come in. That's life...
Please use one of the existing shipping/ordering threads for this discussion
