When extracting "hidden.img" it grew over 8gb. Is there a better way to get the hidden.img than
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p12 of=/sdcard/hidden.img
?

I meant when we were dumping it from the device. We may need to dump the hidden.img /preload but i am not advanced enough to know how.
from what i understood hidden.img has carrier branding stuff? this isn't branded i guess, and if it did get pulled it would be in the 300mb range.

We could never finish creating the hidden.img file. It went up to 8 GB and was still growing... Anyway, apristel added some more files. Folks, please make something happen! Hope that you have all that you need.
Nice job everyone, been following the other thread since the beginning.

Hey all. Since Eugene's Froyo Roms support bootanimations.zip, let the bootanimation mods begin.
The one i am using now, is R2D2, ripped from a Droid2 in this link:
http://www.droid-life.com/2010/09/08/download-official-r2-d2-droid-2-boot-animation/
The original DL link is dead so you will need to use this one.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=K03CII0G
It says it is tweaked to work on the D1, but it works like a champ on my vibrant.
enjoy
Not my fault if this kills your phone.
How to:
1: Find and download the bootanimation.zip you would like to use.
2: using root explorer(or whatever you want) go to /system/media/ and either backup/rename/remove bootanimation.zip
3: place the bootanimation.zip that you want to use in /system/media
4: reboot and watch the animation goodness.

theres a program that you execute via CMD(forget what its called) that takes the file and converts it from a .bmp file to a .img file. And most photo editing softwares can resize images and convert normal pictures to .bmp files. Then you just get rid of the extra extension the program adds and flash

For those of you having problems updating your P3100 via Samsung Kies, here is the .tar.md5 file which can be flashed via Odin.
*Tested on my P3100*:
NOTE: I am not responsible for bricked devices or dead SD Cards, you are doing this at your own risk.

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Installation Instructions:
1. Download and extract the file, you will get a file ending with "HOME.tar.md5".
2. Download the appropriate .pit file for your P3100 from here and Odin3 v1.85 (or above).
3. Connect your phone in download mode (Volume Down + Power Button).
4. Run Odin and find the .tar.md5 file and mount it as PDA and the .pit file as PIT. You should see your phone in yellow labelled as COM:*something*. Tick the Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time options.
5. Lastly, Flash! (Don't forget to end Samsung Kies or any other process from the task manager that might interfere in the process.).
That's it, you now have the latest official firmware.
If your phone gets stuck at the bootlogo, enter recovery and wipe data/factory reset.
To root your phone running 4.0.4, follow this guide. (credits: Fz.hary)

it will be a huge help for us if this happens as planned .THANK YOU for your effort.

I think Kidney Poker is making one so there would be no point in making another.
Besides, I am using CyanogenMod 9, so I'll have to flash back to the stock ROM to dump the system and data files and I do not like it one bit because my SD card does not have much space so I can make a nandroid backup of only one ROM at a time, either the stock one or CM9.
So maybe you should wait a bit for Kidney Poker to release it.
regards
I'll post a cwm flash able first thing in the morning. Getting a real file host setup first. As for a pre rooted Odin flash ill try to post one later in the day.

Hm. It got corrupt while uploading. I'll upload a new file by tomorrow. Cause if it wasn't signed, how could I flash it and have posted its screenshots? Lol.

i appreciate you uploading a new file but this not safe at all man.. some corrupt flash can brick the phone.. please always test a flashable zip before posting it even if you have full confidence with uploaded file.. I'm not saying you know less about android but we gotta make sure our devices remain okay! lol.
P.S. thank u very much for the theme.
Uploaded new file.

There you go.
Replace those font files with your current ones using root explore or something and reboot. You're done
P.S. I am busy with my school and stuff so sorry for the late reply.
