Hi all.
My S3 Mini is lagging. For example; Phone is running the Modern Combat 4 but this game is lagging. Modern Combat 3, Modern Combat 4, Gangstar Rio City Of Saints like games very fluently running on Xperia P. While Xperia P is not lagging in this games but S3 Mini lagging. The only problem I wonder is optimization it's? Or are we kidding ourselves? Is Xperia P better than S3 Mini?
I'm so sorry for my bad english. I hope I had a descriptive.

Strange. I`ve installed alot of games and everything works fine.
I will try to install Modern Combat 4. Will give some info in 10 minutes.
P.S. I heard that MC4 is lagging when internet is turned off (FPS reduced to 10-15)

You are right. It lags on s3mini =(
First Thanks for reply my question. S3 Mini running fluently some games ( GTA Vice City, Real Racing 2, Asphalt 7, NFS Most Wanted etc.) but I'm so sorry about these games (Modern Combat 4, Modern Combat 3, Gangstar Rio City of Saints) not fluently. :crying:
Hi, in the next days comes a rom update by faria. We have activate the init.d support for stock rom and stock kernel with a lot of tweaks (build.prop, V6 120 MB LMK, Adrenaline booster +). I have (formerly Prototyp1981) been studying about 9 months with tweaks and modifications, and I was not happy with any smartphone (HTC, Motorola +++) with the pure stock rom. I personally do not play but I hope that you might less or even no longer lags, we will see. The testing for the rom update is running. I hope you understand my bad english?
I wish a nice Sunday,

I am not very graphically inclined and I usually focus on a clean stable core ROM. I let the themers do there thing. I am sure you will see some themes pop up. Some may already be compatible. Not sure though...
Build it and they will come!

Osirus my friend! How it going? I plan top be around for a while. I thought phone ROMS were fun.. Been doing them for 6+ years... Then I did a Tab ROM. Its like love all over again. This thing is INSANE! I got my hands on a 7" tab and realized I needed the 10.1.. lol All of this in less than a week! I have only had the 10.1 for a couple days now but its by far my most favorite device... EVER!
Just had to get a that damn bloat off it, lol. You know how I am with bloat. This is version 1.0 so there are bounds to be opportunities for improvement. Let me know what you find!

For what is worth, Pershoot enlisted quite a few of us to help debug the hell out of his kernel before he ever released it. By far it is the best kernel out there, and as far as stability goes, i probably fastboot'ed, wiped and reflashed a thousand times to make sure everything was rock solid.
As far as themes go, Boosted is where its at, IMHO. I haven't flashed anything new in a long time, but he's been awesome about dropping updates when a dev pumps out something new.
Glad to have you onboard and can't wait to get home so I can use the bandwidth god gave me (and comcast) to get this rom on my tab.

Do you guys care to elaborate your answers?
1) Remove useless bloatware
2) Speed up/optimize the phone
3) Create full system images for restoration if necessary
4) Titanium Backup
5) Flash Custom Roms
6) Install Custom Kernels
7) Customize your phone to no end
8) ????
9) Profit
Tell him he'll get more chicks with a rooted phone. Chicks dig rooted phones.
lovin that gun, not gona get on ur bad side LOL
so many benefits, for those who don't know, have root access is like having Administrative access on your computer so it allows you to do certain things that you wouldn't be able to out of the box. here's a video to check out
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LaNara54r8
it's always good to go to the forum of your phone and see for your self, check out all the sections, see how's out there.
i personally have never used a phone all stock, there's always so many good things to do that improve the experience of the phone, however it's not all roses and butterflies, there are risks, probably not with rooting so much but when flashing roms or radios or things like that. so if this is something your friend wants to get into, he/she should take the time and get know everything.
good luck
It makes your phone suck water from the ground and its hard to pull the roots out once in?

GTR already has turbo and intercooler stock. Perhaps you meant GTR with massive custom twins, 3-row custom front mount, 4" downpipe, and a wee bit of NOS for those days you're feeling frisky.
Another benefit is getting the latest versions of Android before your manufacturer or carrier releases them, or of course even if the latest version never will be released for your device. You can even run ICS on a G1
Tbh, the Skyeocket is pretty great without root. The reason I did it was to get the leaked ics and remove the bloatware. Those are my main reasons.
No! You don't understand! Do not let your friend's phone be rooted! He will regret it... His soul will be sold to XDA... Please....

Why would you root someone else's phone if you can't even explain TO THEM WHY THEY SHOULD DO IT??
And given the issues you had in Amaze forum not knowing what hboot you needed for super CID, I recommend you do allot more research before becoming responsible for possibly damaging someone else's device.

Just got my Xperia V a couple of hours ago and for the short time I've tries it I must say that I like what I got.
It's fast, great screen, feels light and fits my hands perfectly since i have quite big hands. But ppl with small hands might think it's a little big.
The only thing I miss from my old P is the camera button but I can live with that. Will report more later on when I've had the chance to go over it a bit more since 5h isnt enough to give a good review.

Only on the markets with delayed rls. In Sweden and other markets where it will be released soon it will run ICS first and then get JB when its time for release on the other markets that dont get it now.

It's fast, good bulid quality, great screen, fits good in my hands, all in all a really good phone. It's a little bit to soon to say something about batterylife but it looks quite good for the time being.
I've not used the camera that much so cant say to much about overall performance of it but Sony normally makes good cameras so I think this one will shot some nice pics aswell.
Sent from my Xperia V via Tapatalk 2
Nice one, does anyone know how to port the notification toggles from the V to the Xperia T? I've been waiting to do this. They look really good, i believe bravia engine 2 is already ported.
This is a thread to vent a little so here goes. OK this will not be a news flash to most users here but something that is becoming a HUGE pet peeve of mine. I guess this is happening more lately because many of our regulars have left for other phones and what we have left are noobs. But what is the deal with the same old questions being asked over and over and over and over and over again (and same people answering them over and over)?! How hard is it to use the search box around here?
Let's see if we've heard these before:
1. What are the best tweaks for this phone?
2. What are the best ROMs for this phone?
3. How do I install this ROM/kernel? Gee IDK, maybe read the OP!
4. How do I get better battery life?
5. Where is that 3.0 kernel?
6. (Statement) "My benchmark is..." and then (never fails) "how do you get that score?" Ask, rinse and repeat 10 times.
7. When is there going to be an update?
8. What should I OC to?
9. When will the camera be working with this ROM/kernel?!
10. Statement: "This ROM/kernel is so fast and smooth"...Next day, next week or next month the same person says this about some other ROM. I'll plead guilty to some extent due to the fact I've switched a million times after stating how great this, that and the other is. Nonetheless still annoying to read these kinds of statements being repeated until the next flavor of the month shows up.
I know it's getting to the point there are things running out of to talk about this phone anymore, and again I don't claim to be squeaky clean. Not that anyone has ever listened to this advice from others, but I'll say it anyway. Will some of you PLEASE do some research on your questions before you ask them? I want to emphasize the is not a knock & bash on certain users, just stating what could help keep this place (I mean the SGE4G forum) from dying a faster death & running off devs sooner than later. I still enjoy the forum around here. Just my two cents so disagree if you care to. Keep in mind the guilty parties are always the most defensive!
Well if you're gonna post all these questions you may as well post the answers....

Exactly. It's not a FAQ/then answer type list, just a list of redundant questions. Besides even if I did answer 'em, others will come along different answers and then the questions will get asked again elsewhere anyway. As you stated, subjective anyway. There are no right or wrong answers half the time.
BTW I'm not saying it's always wrong to ask some of those things, especially if it's something brand new. Problem really is the same questions in the same thread get asked all the time when a simple query in the search box would take care of it.

Well kernel is level 1 ROM is level 2. That's the most simplistic way of saying it. Kernel is directly with hardware. Google stuff fro more info

+1. Sometimes we just cannot find the suitable thread so ..
99.9% of the time these questions can be answered with a simple search
Maybe we should all try answering these questions together!

LOL, thanks for updating this thread although when you mention Xquizit we are going back in time a bit!
Yeah, I just did a full wipe on my old Exhibit, then installed TWRP 2.5.0.0 non-themed version, then installed a Holo theme, then installed AOIP and my AdBlock Hosts file. Pretty much getting it set up to give to one of my younger siblings to use as a wifi device.
But I had some good ol' days with XquiziT when I first got it a year ago! (Wow, it really has been 1 year! Just look at my join date!)

Me too. BTW Xquizit was the very first custom ROM I tried. It's a wonder I tried any more after as it was a cluster. Probably because I was so green and had much to learn. Still learning now too.
I hope I'm in the right place for this.. I just wanted to say hello I'm Alex aka. Mysticfrog.. I've been a serious fanboy of Samsung phones until late last one being a note 3.. Great phone but just really got tired of the whole gimmick it was turning out to be. So I decided to check out the nexus 5... Big time different from the Samsung series of phones but I Love it!! It's fast sleek and just all around incredible.. This is the total Android experience I have been waiting for.. anyhow I just wanted to introduce myself so hi all... I've read a lot of threads here and y'all seem like a bunch of cool guys and girls I'm just glad I made the step.. The development here is amazing so I'm looking forward to hanging and having fun

Embrace the sense of freedom, it feels amazing when you're coming from a HTC or Sammy device... so, SO many roms and kernels to chose from and they all mostly work together, unlike for example HTC One X where half the kernels dont work with the other half of the roms and you gotta repack and flash the kernel through fastboot... what a chore just to switch kernel. And S-off... ffff... Anyways welcome to the world of Nexus and hope all your flashing experiences go smoothly! :good::good::good:
and LOOOOL at the S5 comparison with the bandaid ahahahah! good one

yeah you hit the nail right on the head a phone full of junk!!! that and knox I really dont understand why sammy added that..
All i actually did was roll into tmobile to pay my bill and while i was waiting I saw this device just chilling there looking like a chocolate bar so as i started messing with it I realized that some of the roms i flashed on my note 3that i really liked originated from this devise.. So i sat down looked it up, checked out some reviews played with it some more and realized this is the true android experience i crave.. well actually i pulled up the xda site to see how much "love" this device was getting and that kinda sold me.. the development is huge here... Im running droidkang right now which im loving..
one question tho is there any way when i flash a rom how do i keep my music from being deleted?? What i do is basically just redownload it from my laptop, is there an easier way?? Im just used to having that internal mem card... thanks for the warm welcome all..
WELCOME

I read that Samsung is planning on making the wearable electronics compatible with all Android devices soon.
Just ordered the Nexus from Tmobile.com
Had the s3 for 2 years, was considering the Note 3 and S5 (i have a love/hate relationship with the S5)
But like somebody earlier said I crave for stock android plus it helps that my mother has a nexus 5 and 7(2013).
