First time Samsung user here. I'm trying to make life without CM a bit more pleasant (yes I actually want to use the stock firmware for a while, it's kinda nice ). Does anyone have a list of TouchWiz components that can be disabled natively or with Titanium Backup without any negative effects?

Anyhow, I suggest to freeze app before remove if you not sure that it can be removed.

Thanks, but surely Touchwiz has changed a bit since the Galaxy 3? I have already disabled some of the more prominent bloat btw.

I am not rooted and want to know other than using ATK, is there anyway to stop Sprint TV and Sprint V-Mail to load on start up, I know we cannot uninstall if not rooted but don't want them running in the background every time I reboot, other than ending the task on every reboot any other suggestion if possible
Not that I'm aware of.
Even though they come on at start-up, they really don't drain that much on your active memory or battery because they don't get used, so after a little while Android kinda shifts them into the background basically. So while it still looks like they're running, Android's default memory management is such that those programs/services won't really hurt your performance since they aren't being actively used.
There is no way to do that without rooting.

No. But why would you want to? It won't slow down your phone (I promise )
Just install a task manager and if you're seeing it, add it to the ignore list.

Just know that adding a program to Ignore doesn't actually kill/end the app. It only makes it not show up in the list of running/active programs. There will also be some kind of kill/end option which does close the app. (at least that's the way it is in the couple task managers I've used)

You are correct thus the reason I did away with the TK, and you are all right as it does not really use up much memory, as I downloaded Spare Parts and those both apps when I check the battery stats in the CPU usage they don't even show up. I promise boys one day I will Root just for the experience and I know I may never look back, the only reason why I have not yet is because ever since I did away with Sense UI and have been using Launcher Pro my lag has been much much less and the phone is working much better, and the sleep mode issue I have been having only happens once a week now, thanks all

Yeah dude, it's your phone...so do whatever it is that you want/need to make it good for you. That's a main reason we're here -- to help users get their phones working just the way want them to. Last time I checked we weren't running ppl off for not being rooted
Ha, I think I rooted my phone within an hour of getting it in the mail from Sprint, just to remove the bloatware.
I ran the super rooter extreme and it removed all the bloatware. Only problem is I actually liked the memo app. I've searched around but can't seem to find it... Does anyone know where I can download it?

Most likely referring to 3banana Notes: http://www.androidcentral.com/android-quick-app-3-banana-notes (App review and Market QR code at the bottom) or from AppBrain http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.threebanana.notes

That's what I did. I also liked the memo app, and after my experience with the all-in-one updater I got constant force closes. So I reflashed back to stock, and used Titanium back up (after rooted) to remove the bloatware I did not want.
yeah. Some of the ROMs and stuff they are coming up wiht look pretty good, except they are all removing all 'bloatware'. There are a couple of the apps I want to keep: Allshare (would actually like something better, but not finding an alternative); and the AT&T Hotspots app (Maybe there is a replacement?).
I put up all the stock captivate packages HERE.
The whole rar is HERE.

At that pace you look like you will get 20+ hours of moderate usage. I'd say that's pretty darn good, wouldn't you?
I suppose so. Usage was pretty light - it was just in my pocket most of the day. But, if that would last the day for me, then all is well.

are you on GB or ICS?
If you're on ICS, is it stock or custom ROMS? Could you tell me which one is it? And did you delete all the bloatware using Titanium Backup?
Thanks

I'm running a non-rooted version of the stock ICS ROM for the UK. I haven't used Titanium Backup to delete bloatware, but rather just disabled apps such as the Social Hub, built in file manager (I use Astro), calculator and weather widgets. There's a list of save to disable apps on here somwhere. By disabling them, they're removed from your app menu and never run in the background again. I've also got power saving mode on.

ICS?? amazing.. i need to flash stock ICS soon then. Because whichever ICS roms/stock ones i used, they gave me half the battery life than what I used to obtain using gingerbread.
Thanks for your reply bud

You're welcome. That battery life isn't the best either, as according to CPU spy my phone doesn't even deep sleep.
Hi guys, so i just rooted my T-mobile galaxy note 4 yesterday using the guideline. However, i have been experienced some problems with the phone:
1. Increase lagging when using Go keyboard, GoSMS,launch app, sometime freeze when flip through stock launcher...
2. Softcard is not working, so i install Xposed framework and download RootCloak. I dont know if this can intefere with the system?also no longer using update software in setting.
3. The stock camera occasionally failed to launch,or if it does launch, all i see is a black screen, and i can't figure out the reason?
Please help, any suggestion at all to what maybe the cause of all this?
PS: If i want to unroot and go back to stock T-mobile rom before how can i do it? And is it possible to un trip Knox?
Thanks!

With all of those play store apps you have installed it's a wonder
that you don't have even more issues than you are already having.
Uninstall the Go keyboard and all the Go applications then reboot
your phone so you can find out whether they are to blame for your
lagging and freezing. Be sure to make the stock keyboard as default.
None of the play store apps have yet been updated for our new phones
so many of them are not fully compatible yet and some of them do not
play nice with some of the default apps which comes with our phones.
Especially the xposed and it's modules can and sometimes do interfere
with the normal operation of our new phones and some of it's apps.
The developers of xposed will hopefully start updating it soon so it will
be a lot more compatible with our phones and will no longer have issues.
I am fairly confident that if you uninstall xposed framework and it's modules
then reboot the phone you will no longer have those issues you mentioned.
And no, you cannot un-trip knox...........
Good luck!

In all honesty this lag issue is a wide spread issue, not sure if it's a phone batch issue or what but I took mine back to tmobile and even they say people have called to exchange device due to extreme lag where the phone will be un responsive, the camera won't work, switching between apps can to 10 to 30 seconds to switch, and I'm sure most these are normal users. In terms of performance the note 3 ran circles around the note 4 so far until we can a debloated custom rim, I think we're finally seeing that bloat ware be phone experience killers. Just to see the difference I had over 400 apps, xposed mods, etc installed on my note3, everything handled smooth even while trying to make it crash running a tweaked rom.

Try a benchmark test a few times. I think that ***** slaps the cpu and wakes it up. Seriously, it helped on my phone.
BTW. My geekbench score was lower than an 801 snapdragon.
so i install Xposed framework and download RootCloak.

yes, but no. I think it was more of a root problem since root broke S health which made our phones lag like a mother. I really havent noticed any lag with exception of the task manager since having it though.

I would used xposed and use wanam. Use it to use the secure storage fix. Clear s health cache and data and reboot. This will fix the lag.
Not really a developer so would it be possible for someone to make me a flashable zip that adds the clear all button like in the screen shot to the stock rom? Don't really want to run a custom rom, but this is the only feature I want.
Never seen that button on stock.

I've wanted such a feature, but I've never seen that button on stock.
I doubt it could be made for stock. It would be easy enough to make one for AOSP, though since it's a battery drain by killing all your apps then re-opening them, it's unlikely many people would be interested in making them. A better mod would be to limit recents to only show cached apps. I assume most people want to clear them because its clutter. There is no functional reason to clear all. In fact it reduces functionality clearing all, by wasting your battery every time you restart an app you cleared from recents
Did not know that.

Yep it does. Android caches apps. It uses far fewer CPU cycles to retrieve an application from cache than to start it up from "cold". If you don't use an app much, fine - clear it. If you use it a lot, if you clear it it will use more CPU. The more you do this, the bigger the effect.
I'm using "recent app cleaner" and "custom notification ex".

With Chainfire app called Recently you can do this and some more things, only need Root:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.recently
I purchased the pro version.
So you can do with Xposed and GravityBox LP, but with Recently is more easiest.
