If that does not work, try to change the router wifi to open for testing and check.

After I ve solved my first problem getting ICS on, I have the next one.
I tend to lose my wifi and carrier connection after a while with Medroid v6.1.
It says, it is connected, but instead of displaying the symbols in blue, it is in grey and I have not a connection. Sometimes the Wifi cannot find my Wireless n Router aswell.
I don't know if the problem started with rooting my phone with blackrose and later with bexboot as well because after I installed bexboot, I did not even find my Wireless n Router with Stockrom.
How do I get rid of bexboot if it is the problem.
I cannot post into the Rom Development thread of Medroid since I have less than 10 post. I hope somebody else here can help me.
i know nothing about bexboot--maybe delete out of sysytem apps thru root explorer
network connection issues are documented in the thread--need to scan/search and may be on OP
wifi may be you bexboot
you try a clean install with wiping ALL including System 3x
Where do I find the bexboot file? I thought it roots through boot.img and is gone once I ve installed a new rom. The full mobile was wiped before I installed it and the network carrier problem starts when the router does not receive any connection for internet although it is connected to the router....all other devices work with the router.
I know nothing about bexboot, so don't know where it is located. If it changes your hboot you may need to fastboot a stock one. I would restore a nandroid and see what happens.
Good luck
a second person has the issue and after researching bexboot, i would ask/pm dev
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1300356&highlight=bexboot
Do you have by any chance a stock HBoot? It would definetly help.
sorry--no atm at work
there is a link in Blackrose thread or check the two ics threads
maybe even google

it is on Blackrose OP
nandroid first
I installed lyriquidperfection's stock pre-rooted ROM (here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942150), everything seems to work ok so far except for Wi-Fi.
The phone will not connect to my home network, telling me the password is incorrect and displaying 'authentication error'. WPA2 password is definitely correct.
Can anyone suggest what might be the problem?
I'm also getting a new symbol in the right hand side of the notification bar, it is a big N with what looks like a wifi signal next to it.. what does that mean?

I hope you didn't do this... you flashed a I9305 firmware on a I9300 device? Or you just asked on the wrong Q&A section? There's a separate Q&A section for the I9305 device so...

Oh right, it appears I've posted in the wrong section. I definitely have an i9305.
Like I said almost everything seems to be working fine (in fact other than the boot screen I noticed almost no difference after flashing) except for Wi-Fi.
But I have also noticed one more issue, the phone will not connect to my PC in "Media Player" mode. It connects fine in "camera" mode. My old phone (galaxy W) used to connect fine in all modes and I have transferred files to this phone in Media Player mode before flashing this ROM...
Anyways most important issue is getting Wi-Fi to work.. any ideas?
I have no idea since I don't own a I9305 device. I'll just report this post to be moved to the I9305 Q&A section and from there maybe you'll get a solution to your problem.

Clear any caches ie Dalvik, system and user.
Then shut down and pull the battery for a min of 20 seconds.
Reset your modem / router if this fails to work try and connect without any security to see if this is an issue.
If all ok reactivate your security and try again.
As for your usb go to settings / advanced settings and make sure usb debugging is enabled.
Reinstall your Samsung drivers on your PC and remove Kies if you have it installed, reboot PC then all should be well. :good:
Final sanction if all else fails reinstall the rom but clear all your data first.
wifi is controlled by the baseband
try different baseband, especially the stock baseband

Simply Wrong please read the faqs and guides .
Wifi is not baseband .
another simple suggestion for you, why not try to set the network into connect without password, you can find out if the phone is ok in connecting with router.

Which is what I suggested in my previous post, please read before giving an answer.
I´ve had the same Problem with my S3 LTE and the Speedport router in germany.
There is a setting in the Wlan Menu ( Save energy on Wifi ) you have to disable it. You can also Update your Router to the newest Firmware.
After that it had worked for me

Hi. rooted my phone over a year ago, and never had any issues with it. I decided to flash a new rom over the weekend, and after flashing the wifi will not turn on. When I go to the settings to turn it on, it'll just sit in the off position while saying turning on, and eventually just says error.
I thought it was the rom, but at this point I've flashed 5 different roms and the issue persists on all of them.
I've been trying to get it working, but haven't come across anything that kicked it on. Does anyone have any ideas?
You most likely need to update firmware and modem

What is your fastboot getvar all output?
Hi. So, I just got a Samsung S3 GT-I9305 from Vodacom. Got it from eBay. But, I'm having trouble connecting to the wifi. Whenever I connect to the wifi it always says "Authentication error occurred". I turned off the wifi thingy using *#0011# and wiped the cache, I even reset the phone to its factory settings. I sometimes connect to a wifi, but it takes 1 hour or so before being connected. And I have trouble downloading from the playstore. Did everything I could find from the web. No luck.
So, I was thinking, If I would flash a custom rom to my device, will it fix the wifi issue? And would any stock firmware of the I9305 device work?
Thanks! Sorry for being noob.

Hi,
I think it could be a router issue. You should :
- reset your router and retry to connect with your i9305,
- play with WIFI network settings in router. Maybe something doesn't allow your i9305 connection (network type, firewall, etc.). I'm not an expert in router settings, so you could google this to help you.
- try another WIFI network (from a friend, at work, anywhere you can test )
I think that flashing a custom ROM won't change anything. First try to fix your problem with stock firmware.
After the last update OxygenOS 4.0.3 I can't get any internet access when connected to any wifi hotspot.
I've tried diferent wifi routers. I've tried disabling the Smart wifi switcher, the IPv6 support and it didn't work. I've tried reseting the wifi settings. I also tried to Wipe Cache Partition. I've tried forgetting specific wifi networks with no luck.
And desperate I upgrated to Open Beta 3 today and I still have the same issue.
I don't want to do a factory reset because it took me way too long to migrate from my previous android device.
Any advice?
Try To reset
Hi,
your wi fi setting and restart your mobile. I have same issue with my mobile. If its not working check out to update your apps update.
I think your only option is to factory reset as you've tried everything else. If that doesn't work, contact Oneplus support and if they concede, send back the phone.
