[Q][I9001] about CM9 WIFI connecting

i have somting wearid with my phone
i have flash the latest version from CM9 (CM9 Alpha 5) and the WIFI still dos't work with me, i can see the WIFI name and select it, and insert the password, but when i select connect, it is not connect and nothing happen, in addition i have make clean install,with format the system and wipe data .... etc, any help please!!!!

Same problem here. pretty weird :/

Wifi Problem
Are you suer you are in a good distance of wi-fi singal? Because sometimes it happens to me too... you see the wifi, so you click to connect and when you enter password a click connect, it disappers, becasue you are too far away from the wi-fi....

Yes, when i am trying to connect, i am at 2 meters of AP, the name of ESSID and passwords are correct ( verified with the connection info of the laptop).

I tried many (4 or maybe 5) differents versions of ROMS with ICS, and no version is capable to connect .
I reflashed a ROM with version 2.3.6 and this it's running fine, this night (GMT +1) i will try to change the WiFi security preferences for test in a diferent environment, i will tell later

same here i have tried many baseband roms and no roms is capable to connect .
and im waiting ;D.
hope that we can find solution.

my case is even stranger: i had cm9 alpha 4 and everything (apart camera and radio) worked like a charm, even wifi
then i tried the 'update' to fix the camera and camera worked but now that i'm back home (i was on a vacation when i modded the phone) i've noticed the wifi doesnt work no more.. now trying alpha 5
edit: everything works like a charm now : alpha 5 + update for camera.. remains radio and tethering to fix GO DEVS
edit 2: i'm having a hard time installing the gapps o.o i'm going to try again wiping once again everything
Edit 3: doesn't work.. i tried going back TO alpha 4 and again gapps don't work.. I tried downloading them again and nothing changed.. should I go back to 2.3.6 and wait????

Running CM9 Alpha 5 and i've changed the configuration of WIFI security... doesn't work.
I discard a problem with wpa_supplicant, someone knows where logs are located? i am reviewing the dsmeg output and... not seems to have any interesting information ... i will review carefully
PD: iwlist scan also doesn't work

[Q] P1: CM9-->CM10, all ok except wlan does not connect

Hi guys
I cannot post in the CM10 dev section because this is my first post.
I have flashed CM10-nightly-20121221 on my P1 Euro-Version with 3G. I have followed flashing procedures according to the CM10 announcement post. All seems to be good, except that my WLAN does not connect after entering the credentials. 3G works fine.
I have changed the ESSID of my router several times because in the Galaxy S3 CM10 section it was reported to solve that issue, but it did not work for me.
I have read somewhere that it might be because of the bootloader version that might be set in a wrong way coming from GB->CM9->CM10.
Please help.

Iterations ....
I booted back to CWM and flashed CM9 again. WLAn worked flawlessly afterward. Again rebooted to CWM and installed CM10, no able to connect to any access point. Strange.

More iterations
My router is running on channel 1.

I did a full restock, then overcome 4.0 kernel, flashed CM10, same problem.
When I flash CM10.1 on top i get flooded by "Com.Android.Phone has stopped unexpectedly" messages in order that I cannot even get through the inititial welcome config menu.
Help highly appreciated. My alternative at the moment is that I continue posting here until I have 10 posts and then post in the dev section where maybe someone has a clue. Here it seems that no one can help ...

You should be ggathering logs to post in dev then.

It's related to the router ...
It was X-mas. I was visiting some familiy members and connected fine with their wireless router. Back home it wouldn't connect to my DD-WRT Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH SVN revision 20119. But CM9 connected fine, never had problems with it.

Ok, I have changed my router to broadcast in mixed mode GN-Standard and now it works again. N-Standard only did not work under CM10.

[Q] Tethering Problem

Hey guys,
I have a Z1 C903, which doesn't work as a wifi tether nor bluetooth tether. I can turn it on, and other devices can see it, however when trying to connect, the signal drops completely.
If I wait the signal will restart and become full strength, where I will need to manually connect, which proceeds to the signal disappearing again. I've tried unsecure, wpa2, wpa to which I have no luck either. Devices such as laptop will say limited connection, whereas android tablets and phones will refuse to connect and will say "Saved, secured with WPA2" or something else if i change the password method.
I've tried searching for any reports of wifi tethering not working, but the problems seem to be different from my situation.
More details on my device:
It has an unlocked bootloader
Now running Paranoid android
Problem occurred on stock 4.3, nut 4.4 (I assumed it was a glitch on Sony's drivers, and have waited for months now for a patch)
Could a faulty TA do this?
Any ideas?

Flash your phone by flash tools including wipe apps log and cache and system
It should solve your problem
And of course first re-lock your BL and flash to stock Rom

Sorry about late reply, I am out in urban areas without internet connection. I'll try doing this tonight.
Am I right in assuming all Z1 CM ROMs have this problem, if I must install a stock-based ROM?

You can try to change the name of your phone (Network SSID) to a simpler form instead of default.

I got it working thanks to your suggestion, Saeed.
I flashed the stock ftf from the mega thread and that restored my tethering capabilities. I then proceeded to reinstall the ParanoidRom and now the tethering works as well.
I'm not sure what happened, but I'd assume something went wrong when upgrading to 4.3 and the problem stayed when I then upgraded again to 4.4 and then to paranoid.

Trouble on wifi. Will this fix it?

Hi. So, I just got a Samsung S3 GT-I9305 from Vodacom. Got it from eBay. But, I'm having trouble connecting to the wifi. Whenever I connect to the wifi it always says "Authentication error occurred". I turned off the wifi thingy using *#0011# and wiped the cache, I even reset the phone to its factory settings. I sometimes connect to a wifi, but it takes 1 hour or so before being connected. And I have trouble downloading from the playstore. Did everything I could find from the web. No luck.
So, I was thinking, If I would flash a custom rom to my device, will it fix the wifi issue? And would any stock firmware of the I9305 device work?

Hi,
I think it could be a router issue. You should :
- reset your router and retry to connect with your i9305,
- play with WIFI network settings in router. Maybe something doesn't allow your i9305 connection (network type, firewall, etc.). I'm not an expert in router settings, so you could google this to help you.
- try another WIFI network (from a friend, at work, anywhere you can test )
I think that flashing a custom ROM won't change anything. First try to fix your problem with stock firmware.

When i turn the netwerkmodus on LTE/WCDMA/GSM automatic i get Emergency calls only. When i turn the modus on only GSM(2g) i have signal back.
How can i fix this i run the stock android 5

Hi everybody (and sorry in advance for my poor english) !
I am having exactly the same problem as the OP. To explain the situation in a nutshell:
I have the SM-G800F, for about a month. It worked fine, until I moved to the other end of France (it probably has nothing to do, though). Passing on the highway, "Emergency calls only" showed up while I was looking at my emails. The problem is that things never got back to normal.
The situation :
As I said, the same as the OP. When I turn on my phone or I go out of airplane mode, my phone tries to connect to 2G, then 4G / H+. The process takes a few seconds, then any indicator (left of network "bars") disappears, and I can't issue or receive calls, nor use data.
But if I force "2G only", everything works just fine.
I was using a rooted 5.1.1.. In the meantime, I tried several suggestions found here or elsewhere:
-Turn off the phone and on again : Nothing
-Enable / Disable flight mode: Nothing
-Remove / Replace the SIM card: Nothing
-Putting the sim in another phone: everything works just fine, so the problem may not be a faulty sim card
-Wipe Data / Cache Data then use Odin to reinstall a stock 5.1.1 rom (I'm really a noob to find the right words, sorry in advance, but my phone says, under the "version number" field , LMY47X .G800FXXU1BPC4 and the ROM I used is named : -G800FXXU1AOG2_G800FOXX1AOG1_G800FXXU1AOG2_HOME.tar.md5 filename
Manual carrier selection : Nothing
-Turn on Data Roaming : Nothing
-Checker my APN : Everything seems just fine
I can't tell for sure but I do not think it is related to my home. My problem began on the road and took the rest of the trip (2h/3h), and even around in the city, it remains. Moreover, my backup phone and the other people on the same network as me (Orange) don't encounter this problem.
So, I'm a little bit confused and a bit worried because of Knox (0x1: /). If you have opinions, advice, guidance, thank you very much in advance!

Not yet ... I have another phone now but i still try now and then to fix my S5 mini.
So far, nothing worked. Some tech guy told me it was a common issue with that phone's antenna. Also read that from several forums.
Still, i read that some users were able to fix similar looking issues by flashing the modem file with Odin. I'm a bit n00b but i guess i'll give it a try.
Any success on your side ?

Did any of you manage to fix that by flashing your modem file with Odin ?
I've tried additional stuff but nothing seems to work. Back to stock Marshmallow. Still loosing radio signal whenever I enable 3/4G.
Maybe the bottomline is "hardware failure" but who knows...

Have you tried a deep reset? If it does not works, try a custom ROM...

I did try "Factory Reset" and "Wipe Cache" while in the Recovery Menu (Home+Power+Vol Up if I remember well). Is that what you were refering to ?
But I think I didn't try flashing a custom rom. Could you recommend one ?

Yes I was meaning this. For a custom ROM i can recommend One of the latest with NOUGAT like Lineage OS 14.1

Hi,
I installed Lineage OS 14.1, it's great but the same problem keeps happening. Everything works just fine in 2G, but whenever I enable 3G or 4G, my phone looses radio siglal and switches to "Emergency calls only" after a few seconds.
Any other thoughts ?

Flash the last modem/baseband, did yoy try *#*#4636#*#* ? You can manually select wcdma only(3g) or lte only(4g) (sorry for my bad english)

When I choose 3G/2G auto connect from 1 line ti go to 4 signal.. so no LTE /4G for now..
