I'm looking to sell my O2X and I'm wondering what's the best way to return it to pure stock for the new owner. I'm currently on cm10 unlocked boot loader. I'm thinking nvflash v20q or something, but I was also wondering whether the LG update tool updates to ICS yet, as there have been full leaks for v30a/b... thanks
Smart flash the V30 A/B ICS..
You can use the AIO toolkit to smartflash a stock firmware:
AIO toolkit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020737
Firmware Downloads: http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=3
By flashing one of the KDZs it will bring it back to complete stock settings etc.

So seeing as to how the jellybean discussion thread exploded over the last few days it's been very hard to follow what's been going on. Also, I know I'm not the only one with this question so he goes.
1) How do I upgrade from regular stock ics to jellybean v20a? I have v10d and I have cwm installed+ root if that matters. My phone firmware is from Taiwan as well.
2) After installing jellybean, how do I unlock the bootloader and root my 4x?

Get Kdz file from MEGA
https://mega.co.nz/#!eUFRwZTR!Q1nYdzjWM2WklQWVK2ih8mzqvhkZ-clA9raSZnDZgWQ
Use this method to install kdz from LG PC SUITE *Much better and faster than flashing IMO*
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2134192
Use this method for rooting. Easiest so far. THough you need to install BusyBox Yourself
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2180688
For unlocking and CWM *for EUR-XXX only*

Thanks! Followed your guide and am now on jellybean with root and unlocked bootloader!
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
I am planning to update to IZS v1 with the unlocked V30 u-boot. I have all the files but would also like to have my downgrade path back to Zeus 7.06 sorted. For that I need to be able to flash a locked V20 u-boot as far as I understand. Huexxx said in the IZS thread he would make a downgrade pack when he has time but it is not on his website yet. Is there a different way?
i usually keep a copy of the official LG v20g rom to flash back using smartflash tool.
get the official roms here:
http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=1
i used this tool to covert KDZ to a patched bin/fls

SmartFlash Tool will always help you in many situations...
The current official version for the carrier is 4.0.2 with firmware V10f.
I followed RadGasm's instructions over here in order to downgrade to V10c and thehn I used Bin4ry's method to gain root.
What are the next steps after this? I wanted to install one of the KitKat ROMs available for the phone, but when I installed CWM and attempted to flash and boot into recovery the phone soft-bricked, displaying the LGE_Security "unrecoverable boot loader error". I solved this by flashing back to V10c.
Does firmware or carrier matter when upgrading to a newer version of Android? Did I just get unlucky with CWM? I'd like to keep trying but with some guidance, because all these wasted procedures are getting to be quite annoying and time-consuming...
EDIT: so I gather Jelly Bean needs to be installed first? Can't figure out a way to do that...
Canadian p880 can't have jellybean, and thus cant have unlocked bootloader and custom roms. Sorry
edit:
some more info since this was written from my phone - canadian optimus 4x is actually branded p880g, and the firmwares for p880 simply can't be flashed. thus, the latest available version is ICS, unfortunately

That's unfortunate. I don't know about the versions for other countries, but my phone is an incredible piece of junk. It overheats, slows down over time, glitches, and drains the battery in record time. I was hoping new software might fix some of the issues.
WIND doesn't even offer this phone anymore... I'm a sucker for not having returned it within the first week.
Thanks for your reply!
I have CyanogenMod 11 made for the D415 LG L90, but I want to go back to stock because of screen problems and video problems. Can I use the flashing KDZ method with, say, KDZ 10e to go back to Stock Kitkat? Is there any extra steps or precautions while flashing from Cyanogen to Stock? I do not have an SD card, so I cannot flash a ROM through recovery.
Check this thread to offline flash kdz, this one for KK, and this one for lollipop

I know how to flash an offline KDZ, but is it possible to revert back to stock (10c/10e KDZ) through this method without bricking my device?

Follow this guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
Upgrade to lollipop 39b
Root your device using lg 1 click root.
Download Autorec for ur variant from playstore, and install TWRP
Update TWRP to latest . ( for these steps, there's a guide i have written , you can check it for info)
Make a backup of your rom, and u can install any custom rom and experience them before u decide to make one your daily driver.
