I was using my note to control my Google TV when it restarted. It stuck at the first splash screen, the black and white one before the Samsung boot animation. Restarting the phone either by holding the power button or pulling the battery has no effect. I booted to stock recovery and wiped the cache to see if that helped, but it didn't. And now I can't boot to recovery, it just restarts when it gets to the recovery screen now. I can still boot to download, and seeing as the symptoms looked similar to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2034859 I copied what he did and used Odin to flash the stock rooted gingerbread rom from the toolbox by dr.ketan http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1801341. The flash succeeded, but it still won't boot, and now I can't even get to the recovery screen, but download mode still works.
I'm not sure what to do, should I try and flash an unrooted GB rom?
BTW, I was using a rooted stock JB rom XXLSA before this went wrong, and I hadn't installed anything that day. Also, I hadn't noticed until today but although there is no yellow triangle the download mode has a count of 1, is there a way to fix this if I need to send it back?

Flash a gb rom with odin.. And Triangle away app will reset the flash counter in download mode
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
Its worth trying a GB rom which has WIPE written next to it from Dr Ketans thread. install using odin a see what happens
Not sure what fixed it, but it's working now.
I just left it plugged in to the mains on the boot screen and it eventually booted up into the stock GB rom, and now the recovery mode works. If I try flashing the XXLSA again it locks up still, not sure why, but it won't boot. I've gone back to using CM10.1 nightlies as I was before trying the stock JB, and that is working as well as can be expected.

Hi everyone,
I am honestly at a loss. I tried to flash back to stock using Odin (not the one click) because I was having multiple problems with my custom ROM. However, after Odin did it's magic (I got the green sign with PASS) my phone rebooted into the blue screen (Samsung recovery I assume) then I hit reboot phone now, it got stuck in a reboot loop! It won't go past the Galaxy "S" logo at all, or it flashes the "S" then the screen just goes black. Fortunately, I can still enter download mode but about nothing else, not even a recovery screen or anything. I am running a Rogers Captivate 2.2 (or at least I flashed back to stock 2.2 successfully according to Odin) but I can't actually check since I am on a reboot loop.
Can anyone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP?
Thank you so much!
Just reflash stock. Unless there is a good reason you are not using the one click odin I would use it

What's ur phone batch number? U wud be able to find under the battery in the format YY.MM
Problem solved...
Entered recovery mode, had a brain flash, reformatted internal card and wiped user data. Worked like magic. I am an idiot. Thanks for all the help though!
situation: was playing on galaxy note when battery died,
after battery died i tried to charge my phone and the batterylogo displayed but nothing happened.
so i tried to start up the phone and it got stuck at the bootscreen and after 10-15 seconds the screen dies and shows the bootscreen again,
and it goes on like that.
well then i tried flashing other roms to it and didn't succeed so now when i start up phone i get the "phone-----(!)--------computer" screen.
i still can go into download mode but no recovery mode.
so i tried flashing stock GB roms/ ICS roms but odin always get stuck at "zImage"
so can anyone help me with this issue?
the strange thing is i was running on official ICS(4.0.3) when this happened and never flashed my phone before that
I think you are affected with emmc bug

and can this be fixed then?
Hmm I am not sure whether it was the emmc problem
Wait for the others reply
Try all the sources you have and if nothing works, try this

Definitely works but you will be losing 3gb internal memory

Just flash gb rom in PC ODIN only and after automatically reboot if still stuck just go to recovery and wipe data and cache.
If you stuck in pc odin then it is a brick bug.
Try flashing notecore or speedmod kernel see if it wnet thru. If it does then try to see if you can access the recovery and wipe cache - dalvik or even data. If not try flashing again GB rom (preferred KJ11 by dr ketan) then update to ICS or you can try again ICS then root using safe kernel.
well first i tried to install stock GB rom open europe version, then tried stock ICS but nothing helped
So it might be emmc brick bug
Follow the guide i said in my previous post
You will surely get your phone back to work but it costs you 3gb of internal memory
But dont worry, after you get your phone working, clear your binary count
Then go to samsung service center and they will replace your motherboard under warrenty
I got the same problem in the past and got it solved in the same way
Hope it works for you too

Hi there,
I had similar problem.. later on i flashed stock ics 4.0.3 rom but with PIT file . In other words i repartitioned my galaxy note and that solved the problem.
I rooted my mums ace using this method. However I didn't install CWM, I just went straight ahead and stupidly installed the .zip straight from the recovery mode utility. I'm trying to install this ROM.
Now I'm stuck at this step and I think I may have softbricked it.... Youtube clip below:
http://youtu.be/gB-mfeePNRA
Basically it turns on, the sammy logo comes up and then it goes red and lines out. Then it just sits there with the backlight on.
I have a download jig at hand if I need it, so I can access download mode and I have the SD card to use.
Update: installed CWM through the .zip recovery file. i then installed the ROM above and it's now just stuck at the boot logo, with the cyanogenmod blue circle swirling around.

Did you factory reset in recovery?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using Tapatalk 2
Yep, it did nothing. I'm guessing that when I flashed the CM10 ROM it cleaned out the factory reset.
Ok, panic over!
I managed to get this ROM working.
I tried flashing to 2.3.5 after i got stuck on boot after flashing a CM nightly. This got me stuck into recovery and ended up getting a "E: Cant mount /sdcard/" error.
After this, i decided to try flashing back to stock using this Odin one click: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989
Now, my phone boots and gets stuck in a boot loop, constantly restarting the the white at&t startup screen. When i plug it in to my pc to access download mode, all i get is a grey battery screen with a spinning circle.
I now have a USB jig, so what should i do at this point to get my phone back into working condition? Hopefully to where i can flash a stable CM11 rom afterward.
UPDATE
so, i decided to run the same odin oneclick that i last used and the same thing happened on startup, white att logo boot loop and grey battery charging screen
Try one of these Stock Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread i897ucKK4 Odin or Heimdall One Clicks.
Here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18370912&postcount=3
Then proceed with using Odin to flash the KK4 Corn Kernel by mtcarey, if ya want CWM Recovery, etc.

Hello,
I have a GT-N7000 which I am only able to access via download mode. Recovery mode does not work at all.
Odin 3.09 runs the following successfully:
1. Flashing a stock rom: N7000JPLSB_N7000OJPLSB_N7000XXLSO_HOME.tar.md5
2. Flashing a pit file: Q1_20110914_16GB.pit
3. Flashing a safe kernel: PhilZ-cwm6-JPLSB-UAE-4.89.4.tar.md5
These steps however have not solved the problem.
I have read that I need to flash a bootloader, but I don't know how to do that.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

On a successful kernel flash, enter into recovery mode and flash raw kernel and its corresponding rom.
Unfortunately recovery does not work at all. The phone reboots when I attempt to enter recovery.

My phone has this thing where upon pressing the buttons for recovery, it will show the Samsung Galaxy Note screen twice before entering recovery. That means pressing the buttons until it finishes showing twice, or it will just reboots normally. Did you try it?
What I tried now was flashing the stock rom again. After Odin successfully flashed the rom, it went into a boot loop that lasted approximately 20 minutes, but I just let it loop without disturbing it. Eventually it stopped and switched itself off.
I tried to enter recovery and and it rebooted a few times as you mentioned, but eventually I now see the stock Recovery screen, but the Android is on his back with the red triangle on his chest.
I then performed a factory reset.
Phone reboots, I see the Samsung logo, I hear the jingle and then the phone switches off.
Edit:
Switch phone on: See message Android is upgrading. Reaches 33 of 73 apps and phone switches off.
Switch on again: Android is upgrading 1 of 41. Completes. Switches off.
Switch on again: See setup screen. Switches off.
Switch on again: Same thing.
Recovery still broken and can't setup phone as it switches itself off.

You need the stock recovery. Flash your rom in, reboot to stock recovery, then update with the corresponding Philz for your phone. If it works you should reboot and see philz recovery and your rom is unusable. Just flash raw kernel and any other rom after that
So all the random reboots were caused by a faulty battery.
I bought a new battery, followed steps 1,2 and 3 in my original post and my phone is working perfectly again.
