Just received my Sony Ericsson HBH-DS980 Stereo Bluetooth Headset. It's being charged up right now. I'll let everyone know hows the sound quality tonight.
Paid: 99.99 + 5.95 Shipping = 105.94
Edited: Here is what i have experienced with this unit.
Here are the Specs: http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/accessories/overview/hbh-ds980?cc=&lc=
Sound: Great Clarity and rich Bass( Sounds like your in a car thats equipped with Sound System)
Range: Since it is Bluetooth Version 2.0 , it has better range than any other bluetooth headset Version 1.2. ( My previous Stereo Bluetooth by LG HBS-110 was V1.2. While listening to music, it got cut off when i went into another room, and came back on when it was in line of sight.) On the Sony Ericsson, it was cutting off a little bit but not completely off, and can go farther than like the LG)
so far thats with the Music portion. Still have to play around with it more to see whats great about it.
Mind me asking where you ordered your ds980 from?

I ordered it on 12/11/07 at night and it got here 12/14/07 in the afternoon. I choose their cheapest shipping, but it got here faster than it was scheduled.

I think Sony DR-BT Serie is better. Its more a Headset for Bluetooth MP3 Player. They have better DA-Converter inside. I use in the moment ... DR-BT50.

i've been using the Sony DR-BT10CX for the past few months and am very pleased with the sound quality i am receiving. i am having two major problems that i do not know how to fix:
1. every time i go to connect the headset to the phone, i have to go into the bluetooth settings, uncheck the boxes a) wireless stereo and b) headset, then save those changes. then i have to go back into the settings and re-check the boxes and save. - this is a nightmare of an issue, when the headset should simply connect automatically when turned on.
2. making calls is fine, but when a call is received it does not answer through the headset, but through the phone. pointless if you are driving for example...
if anyone knows how i can fix this, i'd love to hear a solution...
MBR-100 Sony/Ericson stereo receiver
I'm using the MBR-100 Sony/Ericson stereo receiver to stream music to me car stereo via 3.5mm input cable and to me earbuds when I am riding on my motorcycle. It connects quickly, sounds good and lasts about a week between charges. I only commute about an hour a day. I got it for $80 at Fry Electronics. I have seen a few of them ob ebay as well.
HT820 + Telus P3050 Touch
I have the Motorola HT820 on a Telus Touch P3050 Vogue and it is very good. I am pleased with my choice.
Sadly I must say stay away from the BlueAnt X5's...horrid sound quality. It seems that the sony's have good sound quality, at least as good as a wired buds that are included. The X5's are much worse. Less spatial seperation, more "muddy" sound, just not good.
Everything I've heard and read about the Jawbone BT headset says that it's a very high quality unit, with excellent noise reduction/cancellation properties. I'll be getting one when I save up some pennies. (10,000 pennies to go!)
i'm using the BlueAnt Z9 with the new 3.4 firmware update and, for me, it's loud and clear with the Vogue. i actually have to turn it down...i have not had any complaints from others when using the headset. when i purchased the Z9 it had the 3.0 firmware and the volume was very acceptable to me. also, the 3.0 firmware allowed you to control the volume with the phone. with the 3.4 firmware, all volume is controlled by the headset.
Jawbone
I have the black jawbone best bluetooth I have used thus far and I have tested quite a few. connects flawlesly and quickly as soon as you turn it on and the noise cancelation that the jawbone is famous for actualy works
I have an old wep150 (samsung) I got it for another phone about a year and a half ago. Its sounds worse on the vogue than it did on my motorola phones. I hope to get a nice stero headset for listening to music and calls. I'm glad to hear the sound quality is good for these devices.
BT
I use the Jabra BT 5020 works awesome on my sprint (cdma) touch. Long life too.. I have always like the jabra products. You can also pair it with multiple devices. it has vibrate.
Timdawg
Just got the SE HBH-DS970 and it works pretty well. the call display only shows the number not the name unfortunetly. And My music tracks don't seem to show up on the screen. Any one else experience this?
I just got the new MOTOPURE H12 the other day and really like it. I got rid of the Jabra BT8010 because I felt like I had to yell into it. This new H12 is pricey at $129.00 but worth it because I am in the car alot. This thing is very small and very light. It comes with a cool desktop charger and carrying case that you can use as a charger also. Here is a link http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/h12/
Good question, CCRRAR!
Has anybody got a bluetooth to work with Voice Command??! The closest I've gotten has been with the Blue Ant Z9, I manage a RadioShack, and we just started carrying that unit. It is small, lightweight, comfortable, and very good volume. Better than almost any Motorola bluetooth re: volume. The plantronics are good volume as well, but a bit bulkier. But the Blue Ant actually recognizes Voice Command! The problem, like most, is it doesn't recognize the confirmation.
Very Frustrating!
Anyone found a fix? I've tried some that profess to be the "true fix" but no luck.

Morning All !!
Currently i have the HTC fuze (AT&T) aka Diamond. I just purchase the sony bluetooth headset DR-BT160AS. I have tried everyway possible i can think of to get more sound out of these headphones. It sound like im listening to music threw a bottle next door in MONO. I tryed adjusting the preset ( audio booster) with the help of tweaksdiamond. Nothing but here the knock why is it when i have the audio adapter plug into the phone i can get great sound and adjust the presets, But threw the bluetooth i get mono sound with no adjustments. Its pairs wirless headset, hands free, it work the fucntions of changing the track and adjusting volume and i can recive calls.... but with poor sound.
programs used :
blue audio
tweaksdiamond
Has anyone had this issue using wirless bluetooth stereo headsets w/a2dp enabled.
@LPHAR56 -aka- do you hear me now "HELL NO!"
I have a pair of Sony DR-BT140Q and they work/sound really great every time. They're not the same kind, but maybe yours are defective?
Try pairing it with a laptop or any other device to see if you get the same results
thanks i try to do it with a laptop. if i can see if it just my pair having issues.. just can figure out the issue
I have a problem using the bluetooth on my Optimus 2X in the car.
Bluetooth audio works fine for playing music from the phone through the car stereo, but when I try to use the hands-free function built into the car, there is no audio. Calls dial properly, including voice dialling, but there is no sound! I cannot answer calls because no ring tone sounds! There is no sound at the phone, so it thinks it is using the car.
I am using CM10.1.
I was previously on CM7, which worked properly.
I have tried an old Sony Ericsson K800i in the car, and that performs flawlessly, so the bluetooth hands-free sound problem is definitely at the phone end rather than the car.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.

It's a well known problem common to many JB 4.2.2 (and thus CM 10.1). The devs are working hard to resolve this problem but no solution yet.
The best ROMs for Bluetooth are the ones based on JB 4.1.2 (CM10)

Thanks for the reply. I'll give CM10 a go.
I just received my HTC BoomBass subwoofer as part of a promotion with my HTC One. The bluetooth device pairs perfectly with NFC but it ONLY plays through the BoomBass. The idea is that the BoomBass is supposed to be a subwoofer that supports the sound coming from your phone's speakers but those get turned off as soon as the BoomBass is connected. So I'm basically listening to muffled bass-only sound.
In a way I understand the logic behind turning off the phone speakers when you connect to a bluetooth device (headset, bluetooth speakers) usually that's what you want. Not here though.
Any ideas how I can keep both the phone speakers and the BoomBass on?

Pretty sure it only works with the One Max, Its something in the software that keeps them on, as far as I know, could be wrong.
EDIT: Link it with NFC, Turn on NFC and tap it on top of the speaker then see if it works.
Should work on all HTC One devices (Max, Mini and regular). It was a promotion from HTC Netherlands themselves: "buy an HTC One, get a BoomBass free". Would be very strange if it didn't work with the device they promoted it with. Linking the NFC isn't the problem, that works fine. Tapping the top of the speaker connects it and it starts playing, but it only plays through the BoomBass then.
UPDATE: the BoomBass needs Android 4.3 to work. I was running 4.2.2. Updated and works now.
So why does it need the 4.3? I cannot update to 4.3 due to problems with my appradio but I would like to use the boombass speaker. I get sound over the speaker but it''s only the bass, the phone speakers do not work anymore. I know wit android 4.3 they do work so what is the difference and can't we make a mod for it so it does work in android 4.2.2?
Is boom bass available in the US haven't hear day out it yet
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app

I think it mostly has to do with the Sense version since the Boom Bass is only usable on HTC One/Max/Mini.
Unless you get it for free in some kind of deal I wouldn't advice anyone to buy the Boom Bass. It's clearly a problem to perfectly sync the audio between the Boom Bass subwoofer and the device speakers over a bluetooth connection. Even the slightest miss match in sync you'll notice and that's especially the case when you're listening to music (because you're listening to a rhythm). The Boom Bass is just a fraction of a second off which makes a whole song feel distorted and simply awkward. Less so when you're watching a video on the device because the not-perfect sync doesn't matter as much then.
I got it for free so thats why i'm wondering It's strange that under sense 5.5 it does work and under sense 5.0 not. Cannot figure out why
Sorry to reheat this thread but I have the same problem. Just got the Boombass but its only playing through the bass not the phone speakers. I have Cyanogen with Kitkat 4.4. So its not the same problem? I guess? I dont know.
I even replaced the tfa folder after this suggestion but no difference. (It was suggested on a german forum with the same problem and this supposed to help, but it didnt.)
Does anyone have a solution? I would be very grateful. Thanks
Does anyone here using Bluetooth Earphones with Nokia 7 Plus? If yes, how is the sound quality? How good are base and treble?
I'm using the Jabra Move Wireless and the audio quality is really good. No need for eq, at least with these headphones. If you haven't already got Bluetooth headphones I recommend you take a look at the Jabra Move Wireless. They're good for the value and they work well with the 7 plus.

Well Bluetooth isn't flawless. I've had to reset my headphones once or twice but it took me 10 sec to get it back up and running. Try to reset your speakers before pairing. Remember you have to press "pair new device" in the Bluetooth menu on the 7 plus.
