On stock it's set to 600MHz. 748MHz works for me without any hiccups.
200min and 780max
Governor : smartassv2
Sent from my GT-S5570 using xda app-developers app
i set my cpu to 806mhz for playing games but always lower it to 480mhz for normal use
max should not be more than 800 and min could be 100

Your phone would lag on such a low freq. After waking it up from sleep...... max: not more than 748mhz.... min: 320mhz.... governor: smartassv2/ondemand... i/o scheduler: sio/deadline.... respectively.

and at min as 320mhz the battery would be sucked like hell even when the screen would be off
even my galaxy s with bigger screen don't lag with 100mhz clock speed
if the lag would be there it would be very small as till the lock screen is passed the processor would be at required speed
and setting it depends on person thats why i wrote "could be"

So, I think it's better to set min on 200mhz.

It would not drain the battery because when you put screen off the device goes to deep sleep mode.... and saves a lot juice..... and even on galaxy y and latest entry level phones of samsung the default clocking is min: 315mhz and max: 832mhz, that also on 1200mah battery....
Sent from my GT-S5570 using xda premium
If you can adjust the screen off frequency set it to 125MHz.
Set the max screen-on frequency to 758MHz. Min to 300Mhz
Note: The higher the frequency you set, the faster your battery drains out.
try an app call "system tuner pro" with it you can ajust the CPU frequently when the screen is in deep sleep... also does a lot more... try it

i dont think samsung give deep sleep functionality in stock kernel
and if deep sleep is there that means way too much lag while waking up device
Samsung is not giving 315mhz as min speed in any of its kernel, 315mhz is way too much for min

It has deep sleep.... every phone has it man.... .... I have a galaxy Y so I know which freq. is min. Its 315mhz.... If there would be no deep sleep... your phone would no last even half a day... Search and think before you post...

Hey guys i am currently using CM7 kittenlinux base (in fact autoradios cm7 light ics modded)
I just want to know which is a safe overclocking frequency for the mini. I plan to use 710hz but u guys tell me =)
Thank you.
Each phone have not same. ...not every phone stable in the same MHz like i am not stable in800MHz...but someone is stable..so try it by urself...and dont overclock too much...waste battery
Sent from my GT-S5570 using XDA
i always use 729-748 as max cpu frequency and the lowest frequency as min cpu frequency... as governor i use ondemand or lilgV2... for me works fine but you should find your own configuration because it depends from the use you mean to do with your device... for example if you use you phon for gaming so you need high freqency for lagless gaming experience but a governor and a shleuder that make long battery life... try by yourself xD
For maximum freq 710, for minimum freq 245 (less chance of hanging when waking device) and governor smartassv2. That's how I roll

By putting phone in horizontal position, display facing south-west, and perfectly balanced lol but really, you'll notice how it performs, any fc's or hangs or random reboots are bad signs
Hi!
I've found this thread which explains in detail all Governor/Schedulers characteristics and much more.
Even if the thread is SGS2 based, there is one thing that catched my attention.
It is written that setting the min CPU frequency @ 100 Mhz actually takes more power during phone standby then the 200 Mhz setting because of cpu voltages...
Does anybody has similare experiences with the Galaxy S i9000?
Which is the recommendable min CPU freq for the lowest battery consumption during Standby?
Thank you!
it depend on devices n true voltage lacking when cpu standby, but its dualcore vs single core

Nope, doesnt mean anything mate, juz info, actually u need to test it urself. as for me, locking min cpu doesnt solve battery drain in smartphone.

Okay sorry for my stupid question ...
i have min cpu by 100mhz ...and for me it is okay...
Sure and if you have apps which let the cpu not going to standby , it doesn`t take effect ...
What min cpu do yu have? Only for information ...

mine dont lock mincpu, as i let da gov do it, mincpu goes to any value cpu needed.but literally 100 was default. but i use script tweak on init.d to shut all background app/lagfree/sdread ahead/ n auto taskmanager to manage free RAM. So feel free to use any combo u feel battery saving as i m waiting tony stark to create a nuclearbased battery for smartfone
n no kidding mate, discussion on saving battery already been solved as not recommended topic, so try to find any setting that pleases u.
or maybe u can try slimbase ROM

200MHz is the best minimum CPU frequency for both performance and battery consumption for most cases. Leave your minimum at 200MHz.
What govenor do you use???

Ondemand. I also use SIO as a scheduler but cannot really feel any difference between it and other IO schedulers.
whats the difference between ondemand and interactive ...???
it is a little bit off-topic but what are the differences between the differnt I/O-Scheduler ...(actually i`m using row ...)
Thx

Let google be your friend. You will get great overviews. (There is as example a overview for governors - i thonk it was for SGS2 - but it is partly right on every phone)
i'm sorry i didnt remember the URL ;DD
which kernel and rom more save battery?? i want a save battery's rom
Go for stock rom with stock kernel.
It gives the best battery backup..
Or you can also go for primehd with naa kernel..
sent from my phone using hands and brain...
I think PrimeHD 10 with nAa-14 be the best power saver combination.

+1 "he's always right!"
And I could use my phone three days without simcard on gingerdxv31 plus nobodyAtall's nAa14 super kernel(medium usage ,2 hour gaming ,1hour music ,20min video ,1hour other #and still I've been got 20% left!?!)
In my opinion every rom has almost the same performance , all you have to do is to select "ondemand governor " + underclocked min freq to 19 mhz max to 480 or 600 , and cpu undervolt option (gingerdx31 doesn't suppurt this feature)
Currently on minicm10 ,drains battery like a monster! :/

Not so much diffrent comparing to 120mhz - 600mhz but phone will wake up a little later
(If you wanna play games set max to 600 or higher otherwise 480mhz is enough for scrolling , browsing ,running apps ,because our ram and I/o is slow so the cpu clock speed won't be important here)
#Voltage usage in diffrent freq:
320mhz=3mv
480mhz=5mv
600mhz=6mv
729mhz=7mv
#480 uses 20% less energy than 600 I think
#On sleep mode freq will stay on 19-120 mhz most of the time so its very helpful for saving energy.
(Usage on gb might be diff. Cause these numbers are for minicm10)

Min CPU is your choice and the safe and best setting for Max is 800-900mhz. Further overclocking than this will overheat the phone, decreases battery life and processor life.

800-900??? Your phone will reboot in 3 seconds! You are talking about Gio and Ace OC frequencies.
@op Just go with 320 min and 748 max with ondemand, smartassv2.

Just 800 will be safe but a very little temperature and battery decrease.
but one notch at time, wait a minute or two for each notch of overclocking.
Default settings should be better

SOME Minis can get to 800, but most of them stop at 787. The REALLY safe 748, mine can go up to 787.

245MHz min and 600MHz max are enough for daily usage in cm7.2 with onDemand or Smartassv2 governers..
for more performance set 748MHz as max...
Guys,
I'am wondering if its possible to set min CPU to lower than 200Mhz????
I used to have a HTC Incredible S and lowering the min CPU to 133Mhz it helped with battery saving.

Hi mate,
Have you tried playing with the CPU frequency settings located in:
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/pegasusq/
You will need Root Access and to mount the System as read/write in order to save the changes.
They are also referenced in /init.rc, so you can probably change the settings in the Kernel too
Have a great day!
-Shaz
if this trick works you can set it to 1MHz....But the big question: will the phone work normally? i mean if i get a call phone will act as normal?

No, in deep sleep the frequency is different. That's why a idling device wastes more battery than a deep sleep one.
