Min CPU is your choice and the safe and best setting for Max is 800-900mhz. Further overclocking than this will overheat the phone, decreases battery life and processor life.

800-900??? Your phone will reboot in 3 seconds! You are talking about Gio and Ace OC frequencies.
@op Just go with 320 min and 748 max with ondemand, smartassv2.

Just 800 will be safe but a very little temperature and battery decrease.
but one notch at time, wait a minute or two for each notch of overclocking.
Default settings should be better

SOME Minis can get to 800, but most of them stop at 787. The REALLY safe 748, mine can go up to 787.

245MHz min and 600MHz max are enough for daily usage in cm7.2 with onDemand or Smartassv2 governers..
for more performance set 748MHz as max...

No.. Do not set both min/max to 710. Just max to 710 and min to 245 or 320.. setting max freq higher than the default 604 is already overclocking..

No dont do that...its of no use nd it will only overheat ur device reducing the life of the phones battery...also the battery will drain will be verrrryyy fast..
So choose wisely nd choosing the governer is also very important..

If u want good battery set governer to - powersave.
If u want performance nd device to be snappy set it to but it reduces battery easily- performance.
So heres wat i do...i set min to 122mhz nd max to 480mhz as both run at same voltage and put the the governer as performance..it saves me a lot of juice
---------- Post added at 11:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:29 PM ----------
And it also smooth..well not sooo smooooth but just smooth.. hehe

Nice tip..thanx man !
If you set as performance it will just use max freq all the time... So better run with ondemand, Smartassv2 or lilgv2. They'll change frequency based on what's necessary, so it's best in terms of all-round battery life and performance.

Wat u said is correct but, always runnin at 480mhz in performance is better.
Cpu has to keep scaling from the thresholds so lag wil be very noticeble especially while using lower freqs..so i suggest my method only while usin lower frqs..
wat govs u suggest is for 600 nd above.
Smartasv2 nd lilgV2 are almost the same..checked their source myself..
Setting 480 with performance will drain more battery than 122/600 smartassv2. Just because the phone will run at 480 all tgh time instead of idling at 122 when you are using it.
It is allso very laggy. I would say setting 122/600 smartassv2 will give you the default performance for the best battery life. I personally overclock my phone only when charging it and never had battery problems.

for more info about governor see my signature and select by yourself
setting 480mhz as Max and governor as performance is same as setting min and Max as 480mhz and its is not that it will save memory but I will consume more battery than normal
so set min as about 100mhz and do not set Max more than 810mhz
choose governor by knowing them not by others thinking
No,just set max and min frequency higher, but don't set both of them with the same value, it will make your phone burning..haha..

Your phone would lag on such a low freq. After waking it up from sleep...... max: not more than 748mhz.... min: 320mhz.... governor: smartassv2/ondemand... i/o scheduler: sio/deadline.... respectively.

and at min as 320mhz the battery would be sucked like hell even when the screen would be off
even my galaxy s with bigger screen don't lag with 100mhz clock speed
if the lag would be there it would be very small as till the lock screen is passed the processor would be at required speed
and setting it depends on person thats why i wrote "could be"

It would not drain the battery because when you put screen off the device goes to deep sleep mode.... and saves a lot juice..... and even on galaxy y and latest entry level phones of samsung the default clocking is min: 315mhz and max: 832mhz, that also on 1200mah battery....

If you can adjust the screen off frequency set it to 125MHz.
Set the max screen-on frequency to 758MHz. Min to 300Mhz
Note: The higher the frequency you set, the faster your battery drains out.
try an app call "system tuner pro" with it you can ajust the CPU frequently when the screen is in deep sleep... also does a lot more... try it

i dont think samsung give deep sleep functionality in stock kernel
and if deep sleep is there that means way too much lag while waking up device
Samsung is not giving 315mhz as min speed in any of its kernel, 315mhz is way too much for min

what are the best settings for
1)overclocking: which governer should i use and what should i set as min. and max. cpu frequency to overclock
SAFELY.
2)same for underclocking.
also suppose i wish to set cpu frequency at 700Mhz max. can i also set 700 as min.?or is there a problem with that?

1) max- 729mhz, min- 320mhz, smartassV2, sio.
2) max- 480mhz,min- 245mhz, ondemand, deadline.
No, you can't because mini's processor's default max is 600mhz and keeping (forcing) it to min. 701mhz will probably ruin your processor so stay away from high min. frequencies.... Happy OC....

so basically my min freq should not go above 600mhz...?
min frequency should not go above 200mhz
if you will set min frequency as 700 your mobile may reboot
and you can't oc stock rom, you will need to have custom rom like emanon
If you OC a lot then the camera might not work also.
just check all the things before doing OC

Keep your phone in normal frequencies and use ondemand as governor 245-800mhz, if you want a better performance use smartassv2/3.
The high frequencies aren't good for a long time
I mean don't OC your phone for a long time, it's dangerous for your phone and your battery life.

Actually we do.. the stock kernel allows to overclock ( optimum performance power plan )

AFAIK, the power plan modifies the cpu frequency stepping, but still it doesn't allow surpassing the maximum CPU frequency of 1795 MHz.
And the only governor in our kernel is a version of hotplug.
Here's how it works in my understanding:
Quote: The “hotplug” governor scales CPU frequency based on load, similar to “ondemand”. It scales up to the highest frequency when “up_threshold” is crossed and scales down one frequency at a time when “down_threshold” is crossed.
The powerplan can modify the up- and down- threshold steps (so the device can use max frequency sooner and stay on higher frequencies longer), but that doesn't affect max frequency at all.
Hi!
This scripts is not overclock, but change/lock clock speed.
You need root, and any Script runner app.
Ddr_gpu=lock max speed ddr and gpu
ddr_gpu_cpu=lock max speed ddr, gpu and cpu
ddr_gpu_cpu_4core=lock max speed ddr, gpu, cpu and lock 4 core cpu
ddr_gpu_cpu_core_4core_stock=revert all to stock.
This scripts not pernement, if you restart the phone, all settings revert back to stock.
Ps: please when you download this files, delete the .zip.

Won't allow overclocking max frequency either... Just increasing min freq, and decreasing max freq.
Pretty much useless on P7, since we only have 1 governor and 3 I/O schedulers to chose from.

Easy, Ziółek You never said it did.
However, since No-Frills doesn't do any good in the terms of overclocking, why posting about it in the overclocking thread
Would you agree?

Try and check with cooltool.
