Hi, iv'e got the htc salsa at the moment but the internal memory is really getting on my nerves. I can't have twitter and facebook at once it seems and then I can't use the music app at times either. I've never touched a phone with rooting or anything like that, if someone could give me the simplest way to increase my internal memory I would be extremely grateful.
thanks!

Hi, i was wondering if you guys know of any good sense roms without the need for apps2sd? I remember using tinyhero and liked it, but cant find it anymore. Im sorry, i tried finding it on my own but i dont know how to search it without bringing up everything that requires apps2sd. I will be getting the Incredible in a few weeks so i dont wanna bother buying a new class6 sd for just that long.

close this thread mods.
Is that the only other one that doesn't require EXT? I've tried that one and had problems with not receiving all of my texts. Thanks for the quick reply tho!

Only one that I'm aware of.
I honestly won't waste my time though. Why would you want 1.5 when we are catching up on 2.1
1.5 to 1.6 to 2.0 to 2.1
That'll be like going back to RC17 and being content.
Haha good point. I just like the layout of sense and wanna play around with it sometimes. I'd probably get tired of the slowness after a day or so tho
If it does can someone give me a link to where i can find it?

No it does not. This is why we use Compcache or a Swap partition on our sd card.

No, and to continue to beat a dead f-ing horse:
<edit>Please</edit>Don't post questions in the dev section.
<edit>Please</edit>Do your own research. This has been brought up before and has been explained.
Because the ram hack takes away from 3D, the performance is actually worse off than helped.

No it doesn't because most CM followers want cool toys instead of stable phones. I don't play 3d games either, so there's a sacrifice I'm willing to make, but they don't understand that. I'm working on one, but with the job and family, it will be a while. I'll post it once it's stable.
That is no longer used, due to the fact that the new kernel branch isn't compatible with the ram hack at all. A kernel dev would have one avail if it was possible to make one.
You people are all missing the facts in this;
The reason there is no 10 MB hack is NOT because it isn't possible, or even because it is difficult.... it is because ECLAIRE DEPENDS ON 3D much more than previous android versions did. Take away 10 MB from the GPU and it all turns to crap -- whether you 3dgame or not.

Oh dang, shoulda known king lbcoder would come in and correct everyone.
Anyway, since we have no 10mb ram hack, we use compcache or a swap partition (at least on G1's) to make up for low memory. But this might not be fact...just what everyone is doing in the G1 Development Forum.

I suggest not using swap.... it is quite an ugly hack for android -- makes things slow. Let the android memory manager do its job -- it is very good at it.

If you're using ADW Launcher, try locking home in memory from spare parts. It fixed that issue for me.
nevermind found it.
I've been reading here for a few weeks now and I've had my cappy since about July and I really want to root my phone. I use my phone for music a lot in the bar I work and was wondering if I would lose my saved playlists on my phone if I did the root. If anyone can help please let me know, thanks.

No you will not lose anything when you root.
Root itself will not delete anything, just give you access to things you can not currently access
rooting doesnt remove anything, it adds more acess to the system files and stuff of the phone. I was worried about all this, did some research said what the hey rooted and flashed a rom
Holy Cap, you guys are fast. Thanks, I think I'm gonna try it. What do you think are the chances I'll totally screw up my phone?

Chances of a brick by rooting is ver very small. There is always a chance even it is .000000000000000000001%
You will be ok as long as you read up and follow the directions.
I've been searching around the internet and also XDA looking for a solution but came up with none
Has anyone been able to successfully root their HTC Salsa?
With any method at all??
Or is HTC going to be pushing their unlocked bootloaders for this officially as well???
I've tried Gingerbreak with no luck

maybe i should try SOC?
am also considering getting a xtc clip but it's pricey and i'm just hoping someone has come up with a method to root this phone
really want to get this phone s-off and rooted
need to move so many apps for my gf from phone to SD
sigh....
Same wish here... no sense having an android smartphone where you can only install a few apps. My GF bought this as replacement for an x10mini pro..
Salsa is a very cool little smartphone but... 123mb of free internal storage seems a joke. Install maps + street view, skype(on SD), vtok (because it has not the latest gtalk and can't make videocalls) and you are done.
I would definitely donate for some development.
to be fair i got rid of my desire as i got bored with after rooting and then s-off, i spent time on getting the most out of the phone but then felt what else can i possibly do to this phone, I moved to blackberry bad move then got the mini x10 pro too and felt the phone was a bit of a joke and only got the salsa cause it seemed pretty similar to other phone and has a dedicated button that can hopefully be remapped, The internal memory is pants but it does let you move apps to sd card which saves graze

it does allow movement of apps but not everything
and that's annoying me so much
i hope some developer of the alpharev team come up with something at least
dont really need custom roms on this and just the basic s-off and root
I keep getting low memory remove app. This sucks. This really could have been a really nice phone. As is its either going back or second string till rooted.

have you guys try alpharev to s-off salsa ? http://alpharev.nl/x/beta/
it is quite a hopeless phone, at least the cheaper phones can install their apps to SD cards. Android is sucks . I think I can explore something new, but salsa make me think that I wasted my money on the DUMP PHONE: SALSA
Please have some methods about it. I'm getting crazje!

that depends on the type of andro apps installed some of them can be moved to sd card but not all (go to application settings or run wizard to dump cache/move apps to sdcard)... if only they put 1GB memory it would be perfect
s-off coming soon to htc sensation perhaps next build will support salsa
NOTE:
you may also force unmovable apps to SD card thru ADB, applicable only apps resides on nonROM apps
I was just wondering if anyone has heard any more about a means by which this phone can be rooted. Really, it's pretty much worthless as a smart phone until it can be rooted. You install 4 apps and you're out of memory, meaning email apps stop working properly, the phone runs slowly and text messaging becomes problematic.
I spent good money on this phone and it does nothing really that my old one couldn't do. Make calls, send texts and use 2 or 3 apps at a time max.
Hi,
I have a problem Xperia Z1 with accessing certain applications on the memory card-some me reports that it is not writable (for example, Titanium Backup), in Total Commander I can't create a new folder, and so on, but on the other hand, need the camera stores the photos on the card without any problems. Is there any solution to memory card available for all applications?
Just for completeness, I add that it is a card of SanDisk 64 GB microSDXC UHS-I and the phone I have ROM 14.3.0.757. Thank you for your advice.
If this has already been dealt with here, I apologize for starting a new topic, but I failed to find it
Yes, the solution still on XDA from long time ago. Just a bit of search and sure you will read about it.

to see what the issue is, but the thread above will clear up your issue

Well, we are not here to hinder but to help
The user was not aware of the real problem so searching would not have been much help.
Notice I also told them where to find more information about the problem....

Of curse, I can't argue with that. You are more prepare logically to any event but if I have to remember any single thread on XDA I think I go crazy....
