I know...random but i kinda feel like ranting and seeing who agrees with me
Htc sense music player is the worst! The whole layout is terrible and you cant even skip songs from the status bar!!! I was hoping sense 4 would have a better music player but its worse then sense 3.6 music player!!!!
Its ugly and a pain to navigate...
Samsungs is easy, just swipe left or right to change sections (artist, albums, songs...etc)
Sonys is also similar to samsungs if i remember correctly
Idk about lg or motorola
Even the aosp music player is better lol (not referring to apollo/whats in cyanogenmod)
At the very least they need to add song skipping capabilities to the notification toggle! To make it more user friendly also remove the stupid menu to switch between sections (artists, albums, songs) and make it more like apollo or,samsungs music player layout where you just swipe to the left or right
Anyways...thats it lol...,so who else hates the htc sense music player? Whats bugs you the most about it?

Even though apollo is my current favorite and works on sense with no modifications...

I have always liked sense music player... the ONLY thing i didn't like about it was the EQ... or lack there of.. hence why i usually use poweramp for bass songs and stock for normal songs because it sounds nice

haha sometimes the layout pisses me off though i had always had one problem with it.. could be when i deleted connected media but for some reason it wouldn't use the scroll wheel in certain "lists' ex artist, songs, albums and i couldn't go by #,A,B and that irritated me. But hey if it sounds good i wont be picky

Really depends what you need from that and how you normally organise your music.
Personally I prefer to have a directory and file-based organisation, as most of the programs I've used until now tend to screw up and misread the albums especially if you've got various artists' albums. I do like listening to music, and rarely I'm shufflin'.
Anyway, recently I've started using MortPlayer Music: maybe it's not the best looking one, but does what I need and doesn't drain the battery too much.
poweramp has it all
Can't live without Google Music.
google music is my favourite, fits perfect to ics roms, and works really stable and looks quite good..
but its annoying that i can't choose ringtones with gmusic -.-
there is also a MIUI v4 music port on the net, looks really good but not stable at all
I really like cubed player.
Thanks for all your replies. I suppose I'll have to try them all out and decide for myself lol!

Apollo has been out for a while now and used as default media player on MANY ROMs. I admit, there are a few new features. But... From the older CM music player this feels like a downgrade. There are a lot less customization... In our actual settings panel now all we have is a theme setting coming from like 20 categories... AND it still takes up 30 MB of RAM whereas Google Music takes up 6-8 MB. I was expecting a lot more from Apollo... Hopefully if the app ever gets updated it will be A LOT better...
What do you guys think?

Agree, I don't like it at all, unfortunately.
Worst thing (to me) is the cover art grabbing, man it's so disappointing...
I did froze Apollo in almost every rom I used so far, think I'm going with Google Play Music.
I can agree, google music is always my stock app. I always go in and delete the apollo app... But since i started running aokp it dosent come with any music players pre installed. :highfive:
It sucks and is the same as Google music. Miui music player rocks!

MIUI takes up 25 MB of RAM (+ a little more because of its' own equalizer). I've tried it, its got features but I like the look up Apollo/Play Music better.

My stock is 90% of the time, the stock Google Music. I think it is just great and I love having everything integrated to the cloud instantly (Even for me as a Canadian ) But the Appollo app was a large disappointment. Not only did I find a lot of glitches and poor performance but it is not anything new either. Google Music, True, is not full featured but it with great ease gets the job done. My second choice is hands down MIUI Music, because the app is silky smooth! Fast, functional and wonderfully designed and featured. I would use it 24/7 if only it could sync to the cloud some how.
Tried it once, delete it every time I see it on a ROM. Devs should understand that people won't accept other players because most of us are used to the default one from stock versions of Android.
I also use Google Music.

I agree, I prefer MIUI music or TTPod
Hopefully it will eventually be my main music player but for now I'm still. using poweramp

No. As far as i know google hasn't released the code for google music to 3rd party yet.
this always freeze ,force close
Mine doesn't freeze or force close. Mine just has hitters when closing certain apps every so often. What in really upset about is the lack of features. The old CMplayer had more stuff in it than this one does.

If Apollo ever updated to a more stable release this would probably be the best player available. Well... given you add 1-3 more features like the older CM player. I love the widget. For that reason alone I can't ditch it. Yes it's a stupid reason, but it looks great on my home screen.

So who's thinking about subscribing to all access and keeping the service?
I'm on the trail version now but I think I maybe keeping it. I really like that you could listen to any song or album and let it play completely all the way through it. The new ui is nice and all but I like the color to stay blue.

I've been using Spotify Premium for over a year now, and I have to say that after trying Google Music the service is kind of disappointing. I mean, the service itself is great, but the UI, Apps and the fact that it's browser only is really really disappointing.
I used it for about 20 min and I just couldn't deal with it. Let me provide some details. If you're on your desktop with Spotify (Windows 7), you can hover over the Spotify tab and you will get backward, pause, and forward buttons on the live previews in Windows 7. This doesn't work in Music because it's a browser based app.
I also find the UI kind of hard to navigate through. It looks nice and all with the Google Now theme, but it's just not... intuitive IMO.
I really wanted to switch over, but it looks like I'm going to stick with Spotify for now.

Yes I'm talking about both versions. I've used the phone app and the Web app.
Also, I should note I don't own any actual music. I stream only/save on device.

I think its a good start. Yes it could be a little more intuitive but I don't have any real issues with it. I have been waiting for Google to release a music service as I have used Zune/Xbox Music when I had my windows phone and excited I can get the same service for cheaper on my Android now.
I was very excited about All Access after hearing about it this morning. I signed up for the trial but not sure if I will keep it. The biggest drawback for me is not being able to save an offline library on my phone. It looks like the phone has to be connected Internet and able to stream while playing. This is not practical because most people has capped data plans and not to mention we can't get reliable service everywhere. So anytime you are out of 3g area you won't be able to listen anything. I also have had Spotify since the launch and being able to keep offline list on three devices have been very nice. I hope to see a similar option on Google music otherwise I will stick to Spotify.

i use spotify on my phone and have always saved for offline. I want to switch to play music because i hate the spotify app and the lack of being able to sort by artist. i have remade most of my spotify playlists in play music and want to save for offline, but for some reason the download process is taking really long and keeps failing even though i am on wifi. its really annoying is anyone else having this problem?
edit: has been trying to download a single song for over an hour, really annoying because everything else is great besides this. i am going to try reinstalling to see if that helps
I think it gives the option to download for just one song (each song or album separate, not the entire library nor the list). Just to be clear, you guys are talking about the option that says 'keep on device'?

Ok, I haven't made a list yet but will try in few. Although one more thing that I wonder, if I have the song or the list on my device, does it still communicate with Google play music? I am just curious if I can listen in two devices at the same time from a downloaded list? I know it doesn't work while streaming. On Spotify I can just turn the offline MODE on and be able to listen in two devices independently. (good way to share the cost of the monthly fee, if you have a family in same household)

ive listened on both my computer and phone at the same time playing different songs and it works fine. i know when i did that with spotify it would stop the stream immediately unless you were offline but this is much easier
edit: nope, after about a minute it stops the stream. but it works great for a minute!
Ok.. the only thing I cant figure out.
Let's say I add an album to my library... How do I go about removing it via the app? I see every option but that

Thanks for the quick replies! I tried streaming from both computer and my phone earlier and it kicked me out from one multiple times. This doesn't happen right away but it happens after a minute or so. That's why I was wondering if having the song on the device could eliminate this problem.

What cheesy said. Look in your players settings and make sure Lyrics is checked..Then once you are playing a song, tap the little music note thingy in the top corner and it will bring up a Windows Media type screen with background animations AND the lyrics to your songs. I also have my WiFi only UNchecked so it will find the lyrics to anything I add on the fly

No need to mods, just install tunnel bear. I set to UK server then open and connect it. Then open your music and let it update to grace note server.
Note:
After atleast one of your music liyrics comes out, you can dissconnect your tunnel bear from server, its only need once to connect. Then you dont need it anymore.
