If you haven't unlocked it.. Then it's most probably locked

I mean, I've already done all the steps, and it appeared to be successful. But where in the phone could we see that the bootloader is unlocked?

well if you think it's unlocked, try flashing a ROM and a kernel, if it works, its unlocked, if doesn't then tough luck

Just try and get Superuser and busybox. It shouldn't work on locked bootloaders

....And when unlocked, did Mobile Bravia Engine 2 still works? Try to BE off then make a screenshot, the same goes to when BE is on. Make a comparison. This is a known bug for 2012 Xperia phones. Did Xperia V included?

SlenderMan,
I urged you to edit your thread to warn people if they decide to unlock the bootloader of their Xperia V smartphone. On my Walkman app you will get a security error when trying download music info. Yet I tried fixing but to no avail by using this thread:-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2006356
Also tried this :-
1.Move CredentialManagerService.apk from /system/app to your SD card.
2.Reboot your phone.
3.Move back CredentialManagerService.apk from SD card to /system/app
4.Change permissions to rw-r-r
5.Reboot your phone.
But still unsuccessful. I used the playerpro app anyway but to let you know this will happen to smartphone if they choose to unlock their bootloader.

I think my Mobile Bravia Engine 2 is fine but it broke the download music info using the walkman app.

Solved the download music info (security error)
I managed to solved the download music info for the walkman and it think it also fixed the mobile bravia engine 1/2 using this method by clicking on link below :-

Is it 100% impossible to unlock the phone?
Is there no other way?
Because I really need to use a different SIM on my phone.

I think there's a way. By using testpoints. But i'm not sure if it's available for the V

I got some troubles in step 7&8.
I switch the phone off.
I push and hold the volume up button to enter "fastboot".
The blue LED will turn on and then the first time I got a message that drivers where missing and I closed that message.
But then the blue LED turned off and I only can find "Sony USB storage" in my device manager.
I tried it several times again and now every time I enter "fastboot" the blue LED will only stay on for about 10 seconds.
I can not find the device (S1_fastboot or Android Phone) fast enough before the blue LED turns off and then I can only find again the "Sony USB storage" device.
Deleted the drivers of the device "Sony USB storage", but then after I enter fastboot (blue LED turns on) and the blue LED turns off again it will automatically install these drivers again (because I suppose as soon as the blue LED turns off I leave the "fastboot" mode).
Any suggestions anybody.
Please advice.

Ok it worked. I just had 10 seconds to install the driver as long as fastboot was "activated" (blue LED was on).
I had to do this in 3 times.
First to see in device manager where the device would appear (S1 fastboot).
Then to "right click" the device and select install driver. Select the driver folder.
Then again in fastboot and installed driver.

That is how it should be.Now in that state type fastboot device.
If there is not any listed you have problem with fastboot drivers.
Leave it that way and open on PC device manager and find one saying fastboot with yellow triangle, rigt click and do manual update of driverd pointing to extracted folder in attachment.
Install and in cmd window type fastboot devices to confirm it is ok, now type fastboot oem unlock and on phone select unlock with volume keys and confirm with power button. If you have that version that shows software version EUR-XXX it will wipe pone and unlock bootloader.

My problem is is that I was running v10e (BRAZIL) and flashed v20a. I don't see the EUR-xxx, I see P880020a-724-06.
I can't unlock my bootloader...is there a way to get to EUR-xxx?

[SOLVED] Bootloader unlock problem

Hello,
I was using EUR V10H firmware on my device and I upgraded to V20A_EUR leaked.
Then reboot and factory reset.
Then usb debuging mode activated and "adb reboot-bootloader" command.
Then rebooted and LG splash screen appears. Saying that "Running Factory Reset for the First Bootloader Unlock : : Please Wait..."
But nothing happens. What is the problem? Any idea?
Remove battery and restart the device, no problem.
NOTE : When I checked "Settings->About Phone->Software Info = P88020a-EUR-XXX

Unknown USB device error has been occured but it should not be because all LG drivers has been installed on my machine (Win7 Pro X64)

Maybe it unlocked already and you didn't notice.
It should appear "bootloader unlocked" on the "S/W" screen.

(XPERIA E1) Root and install cwm recovery.. Sony Xperia E1 D2005

OK Guys the e1 has been an absolute mare... to root or basically do anything with so heres a guide to finally root this thing and install a custom recovery WHOOO.......
OK FIRST THINGS FIRST... UNLOCK BOOT LOADER ABSOLUTE BEST WAY AND SAFEST WAY TO DO IT.........
Please note! It will only be possible to unlock the boot loader for certain releases. You can check if it is possible to unlock the boot loader of your device in the service menu by following the steps below:
In your device, open the dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
Tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.
Go here and check whether your smartphone is on the “unlock bootloader” list or not. If your phone is not listed there it means that you cannot use this guide for unlocking the system
.
Also, on your handset type and dial: *#*#7378423#*#*; then go to “Service info -> Configuration -> Rooting Status” and check if the “Bootloader unlock allowed” says yes. If the “no” answer will be displayed then you will not be able to unlock the bootloader of your device.
Now, extract the file named “downloadinf.zip” (which has been downloaded before) on your computer.
Then, copy the obtained file (“android_winusb.inf”) to path c:\android-sdk\extras\google\usb_driver.
Click yes if asked to overwrite something.
Type *#06# on your phone and get the IMEI number; write it down as you will need it a little bit later.
Now, go here.
On the first page click on “Yes, I’m sure”.
Agree to Sony’s legal terms and then hit “I accept”.
On the next page enter your name, email and your device’s IMEI number and click on “Submit”.
An unlock code will now be offered; note it down.
Turn off your device and connect the same with the computer by pressing on the POWER BUTTON +vol down
Install the drivers on the path mentioned above (c:\android-sdk\extras\google\usb_driver).
Now, on your computer open command prompt: “start -> run -> type cmd”.
On the cmd window enter the following commands (one at a time): cd C:\android-sdk\platform-tools; fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version; fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY (replace key with the code obtained before).
That’s all, now the bootloader will be unlocked.
In the end, remove the USB cable and reboot your smartphone.
NOW OK WITH BOOT LOADER UNLOCKED ............
Firmware...............
it is best to roll back via flashtool to 20.1.A.0.47 firmware its more compatible with the custom recovery ...
download firmware..https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B1oU0...xport=download
download flashtool...https://github.com/Androxyde/Flashto...ive/master.zip
place firmware in in firmware folder in flashtool directory connect phone holding powerand vol down and flash
NOW THE HEAD ACHE ROOTING BUT STICK WITH IT AND WE'LL DO IT
download http://www.mgyun.com/en/getvroot ( ok i understand people are sceptical of this but trust me it works it wins half the battle)
it will root xperia e1 alas! you will only have limited root privleges ((and it will install 2 apps easily uninstalled))) and it will install its own su app which does work but a bit annoying soo...
you can remove this via a delete system apps app, you do have enough privelages to do this....
install root checker it will say you dont have full root priveleges but su installed ? ok dont panic
CUSTOM RECOVERY
THIS WILL GET THEM FULL ROOT PRIVELEGES WE HAVE BEEN LONGING FOR ...
OK DOWN LOAD THIS RECOVERY IMAGE ...http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...3&d=1417104506
NOW
1. extract zip to somewhere on your computer & place img in the directory of fastboot.exe
2. Connect your phone in fastboot mode press vol + button while connecting to USB
3. Flash via fastboot ON FASHTOOL note to enter fast boot mode HOLD POWER AND VOL UP BLUE LIGHT SHOULD BE SOLID...
4.REBOOT..
OK NOW FINALLY
REBOOT INTO RECOVERY ....HOLD POWER AND VOL DOWN
NOW NAVIGATE TO ...ADVANCED MENU
OK NOW GO TO RE-ROOT SYSTEM (superSU) PRESS THIS REBOOT PHONE GO TO PLAY STORE RE-INSTALL SUPER USER APP
ROOTED...........................WHOOOOOOOO ps Check this with root checker
ALL COMMENTS WELCOME ...................................

But any explanation about why d the phone reboots?
And it's looking like rhe phone is a D2004 with the D2005 ROM will that recovery work?

Installing TWRP?

I'm very new to all this, so if this is a stupid please forgive me.
I have a z3c with Android 4.4.4, I believe last night I've unlocked the bootloader via Sony's process. Phone rebooked and reset (and did see the green android doing stuff).
I want to install TWRP and then CM12.
Firstly, I can't seem to get into the standard (if there is one) bootloader by holding the volume button down.
Also, Is there a step by step guide to installing TWRP and some way of confirming I have actually unlocked the stock bootloader?
Regards.

use this code in the same way if you go to call *#*#7378423#*#* and check it on Service info configuration you should see something like this :
1 - bootloader unlock allowed: No
2- bootloader unlock allowed : Yes
3 -bootloader unlock: Yes
But for root the phone you don´t need unlock bootloader I don´t know in your country but here you lost warranty if you open it. You just need dowgrade to kitkat using flashtool, root with one script and you should to make a copy of TA partiton with other script and install dual recovery.
You have a lot of tutorials and videos arround.

Thank you for the information. I have used *#*#7378423#*#* and get:
3 -bootloader unlock: Yes
I'm now following a post (DoomLord's) and trying to install CWM.
With the phone powered up and connected to PC, I can use adb and see a connection
I have tried getting into fastboot mode using two ways:
1. From adb and reboot in fastboot
2. Hold volume-up and connect usb....
I get a BLUE LED, but when using Android platform tools, "fastboot devices", none are shown....
I'm assuming blue LED means fastboot?
Note: I've turned on anti-virus / firewall... etc.
Basically, can't connect to phone via fastboot command....
Any ideas?

For some reason my windows machine didn't work but my mac did.
Managed to fastboot cwm:
&&&&&-MacBook-Prolatform-tools &&&&&&$ /Users/me/Library/Android/sdk/platform-tools/fastboot flash boot Z3c_DooMLoRD_AdvStkKernel_v01_FW-105.img
sending 'boot' (13014 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.410s]
writing 'boot'...
OKAY [ 0.867s]
finished. total time: 1.277s
&&&&&&-MacBook-Prolatform-tools me$ /Users/me/Library/Android/sdk/platform-tools/fastboot reboot
rebooting...
finished. total time: 0.002s
After reboot - NEW PROBLEM:
Trying to switch on wifi, the switch moves across and turns light blue (and shaded out).... and no wifi.
Have i broken it?

Men try basics, wipe cache davlink, if doesn't work you should try factory reset. If doesn't work you should try other Rom now you have recovery try any rom.

Thanks for your reply.
I've tried:
Clearing clearing the Dalvik Cache.
Factor reset
> Still the same; no wifi (light blue and shaded out)
I then:
Flashed Sony 4.4.4 stock ROM (D5803_23.0.1.A.5.77_RU.ftf)
> Got phone working again.
Then fastboot loaded CWM as per:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-...58xx-cwm-based-recovery-6-0-4-7-root-t2890231
And again have the same issue, wifi will not turn on and is blue / shaded out.
Any ideas?
Is it worth trying TWRP? If so, is there a version for z3c?
Regards,
Rowland

Can anyone help me how to unlock the bootloader via fastboot since I cannot get in the software as I have a bootloop. I greatly appreciate it as I have been figuring out this for the past 5 hours. Thank you.

Any other phone if you don't flick oem unlock first in developer ootions it's a hardbrick. The Asus unlock tool apk does this. Did you install that first and unlock first? Hope you can recover

You're FUBAR for now, nobody has figured out a way to flash the phone without an unlocked bootloader. Just use it as a brick until someone finds out QDL9008 or other ways to flash it.
Your's ROG 2 can be boot into recovery mode?
If you can -- "adb sideload software.zip"

Yes. Is lock
Your only option is to go to ASUS service center in your area and ask them to repair it. If they accept to service it they will of course charge you for it which is better than having a bricked phone. Other than that your only option is to send the phone back to China there you can claim that the phone got a bootloop and since you didn't unlock the bootloader you are still covered by warranty meaning you will only pay shipping fees.
Thank you Rashad83. I just sent it to Asus Service Center with a fee.
Did you guys changing the Boot Slot?
Check your current boot slot by hitting -
fastboot oem device-info
Then change the slot to "B" if you're currently in "A"
Slot change command -
fastboot set_active_b

Guys, Please obtain an ASUS Raw firmware to recover your devices. Do not fall for tricks by various users around which asks to pay for them.
Just use Google and find yourself the correct RAW firmware for your model.

Hi, I've managed to unbrick my ROG Phone II Tencent Edition 8/128 with a locked bootloader having "slot _a" error. Link to other thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/rog-phone-2/how-to/repair-rog2-phone-edl-modeofficial-t4012175
My equipment for flashing, for sure you already have ADB installed in your computer, my computer is an x64 Intel Windows 10 laptop, I used USB 2.0 not USB 3.0
Credit to @johnny886 for the sharing the tool,
"If your phone can only enter EDL mode (9008 mode)
this firmware is glad to help you. It can be flashed in through
the QPST tool, or it can be flashed in through the Xiaomi miflash tool.
To use the QPST tool, you must change the EMMC to UFS. No matter which tool you use, -(I personally did not use this, I just downloaded the file and followed grewookie's instruction below)
you must restore the factory settings after the phone is turned on, otherwise the storage
of the phone will recognize the error! !! !!
Factory settings must be restored after booting! !! !!
The firmware is made through the official package UL-ASUS_I001_1-ASUS-16.0631.1910.35-1.1.207-user.zip
without any modification, Suitable for repairing phones that can only enter edl mode(9008 mode).
File Downlaod link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Pk...Sf6cDq7SuJiBBu"
Credits to @greywookiee for the super clear instruction:
"Here's some instructions I put together that would have helped save me a lot of time. Please correct anything I missed:
After you have downloaded the zip file, here are the step-by-step instructions:
1. Extract the zipped folder wherever you want on your PC.
2. Open a CMD window.
3. cd /d <whatever path it is to the "\ASUS_ROG2_ZS660KL_QPST_Firmware\images" folder> e.g., "cd /d D:\RogPhoneII\ASUS_ROG2_ZS660KL_QPST_Firmware\imag es"
4. Make sure your PC is connected to the side port of your phone and the phone is in fastboot mode (Volume UP button + Power button).
5. Check and make sure your PC is connected properly by entering "fastboot devices" in the command window. You should see the ID of your device.
6. Then enter "fastboot oem enter-dload" in the command window. This will put the phone in emergency download mode (EDL). My phone went all black.
7. Open "\ASUS_ROG2_ZS660KL_QPST_Firmware\MiFlash2018-5-28-0" folder. Launch "XiaoMiFlash.exe".
8. Click "refresh". You should see a device in the list.
9. Click "select" and navigate to the "\ASUS_ROG2_ZS660KL_QPST_Firmware\images" folder.
10. Click "flash". Wait until it says "success".
11. After it's done, you'll hold down the UP button, Down button, and Power button on the phone at the same time until it shuts down.
12. Hold Up button and Power button at same to boot into fastboot mode again. Select Recovery mode by using the Up/Down buttons on the phone. Press the Power button to select.
13. Select "wipe data" from the drop down list. Go down the list of "no" until you get to the "yes" and press the Power button.
14. Select "reboot now".
15. Done."
