Official JB is not yet released by Samsung. There are TW leaks in Dev Forum, try it out. IMHO Official CM 10.1 is the best.
I hope you are aware of the super-brick bug.

Official jellynean not ready there are many leaks in the android development forum
Keep going to samfirmware.com > firmware and files > choose your setting and keep checking for updates

official jb is not avialable in india yet ............. u can try custom roms ,,,,,,,,,,,if u like touchwiz then go for angry v3 its the best rom with multiple dpi avialable otherwise you ca use panaroidandroid ro its good

Whatever the hell you do,do it from recovery
Why you all think odin is needed???!!!
Go for ultimate jb v5.1
Easy flashing steps are included in its thread

Not a single official stock jb ROM released from samsung to n7000 try alliance or ultimate
And like the guy said what the hell you need odin for rooting needs recovery only

It is worth upgrading to 404 as battery life is better, transitions and window animations are smoother than 403.
I'm using CF Root 5.6 LRG kernel and stock odex rom with some bloatware removed.
Well its my personal experience.
You'll sure hear some people advise you to downgrade to GB :silly:
You can download 404 with Check Fus Downlaoder.
Is that kernal safe???

No ICS Kernel is 100% safe.
When performing a Full wipe (Data/Cache), always flash the Abyss 4.2 Kernel first And reboot back into recovery!!!, and then wipe.
and what's the relevance between you going away and the urgent itch to upgrade?
No reason to upgrade lol....i just a flashaholic

Regarding CF Root 5.6 kernels. Samsung has released new sources but we still do not know if brick bug is fixed.
Better safe than sorry - always use GB kernels to be 102% sure and safe.

I do not know if CF Root is compatible with MIUI.
Flash CFR 5.6 with mobile odin.
use only the kernel that came with the firmware, i doubt also that other kernels will work with MIUI.

My note with android 4.0.3 and i cant find an update . Is there any update or somthin???and how cause i dont find any update
Sent from my HTC One S Special Edition using xda app-developers app
Check in samfirmware.com for the latest version of your rom.
You can download that and flash it via odin to upgrade. Do not wipe while on stock ics kernel.
If you are on unrooted stock rom check for software update in about device in setting.

Depends on your current firmware.
But as stated above, you can choose to flash a rom through odin/cwm.
Otherwise you can only wait... and wait.... and..............wait
Important: DON'T WIPE if you're still on stock ICS kernel.
Yes just keep waiting, youll receive 4.0.4 soon enough

Well,
Samsung has published the service
manual for the Android 4.1.2 Jelly
Bean update on its own website
recently , where this update is
tipped to arrive either this month
at best, or in February. In fact, this
time frame would also be when the
Samsung Galaxy S2 picks up the
Jelly Bean update, too.

there is for different csc, regionalization means no worldwide update of same possible.
root phone (warrantee void)
backup efs on and off phone,
backup pictures/movies, rest sync with gmail.
install mobile odin,
flash safe kernel
reboot recovery
wipe everything, including dalvik,
format everything (take out sd card before) except efs
reboot download mode
flash via pc odin the jb out there
dont like it, follow same steps but with original rom flash. Restore original rom for your csc, via pc odin, root, safe kernel again, restore efs, reboot, flash original zimage from original rom without root option, uninstall mobile odin voila.
all own risk. do on safe kernel always
ps never restore apps or data for best experience.

Question about rom

Hey guys,
A friend of me asked me if I can flash a custom rom on his i9000.
As you can see I have the i9001 so I dont know what the best rom is etc.
So whats the fastest and battery friendly rom for the i9000?
And flashing CWM must be done trough Odin right? Because with the i9001 we can instaal cwm through stock recovery.
Thanks in advance

Check my How to Guide at my signature (below)
Jumping from one Rom to another usually consists of flashing JVU then rooting > flashing your new Rom
So whats the fastest and battery friendly rom for the i9000

This depends on your area , what you use the most... example....internet, wifi, games etc...
Sometimes depends on Modem and Kernel also...
There are many stable Roms out there it all depends on your preference
Installing Jelly Bean 4.1 on Galaxy S GT-I9000
Installing Ice-cream Sandwich 4.0.4 On Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000
Okay thanks!
So I dont need to update the phone from GB(it has it now installed stock) to ICS an then jelly bean or can I just flash jellybean without going to ICS first?

Cant use odin ... Need another way

I bought a new white n7000 with gingerbread installed on it , so i updated hoping that itll be jelly bean after that but nope , it got 4.0.4 ics instead , now i read that i must not wipe or else ill get super brick and i will need mobo replacement. I read a couple of guides to install jelly bean thru odin but my macbook is sent for repair and is back within 2 weeks. Is it possible way to upgrade with that update with zip option i saw in recovery ? And can someone recommend me a good jelly bean build cause i read that each build is different , one is better than the other with performance

You could flash the corresponding PhilZ kernel from Original Development which is brickbug safe. Then you could get Mobile Odin Pro from the Playstore and use it to flash a rom that comes as a .tar file. Or you could get a custom rom that comes as a flashable .zip file and flash it through cwm.
I recommend you either the latest stock rom LT4 or Joosh3s Ultimate JB based on LT4. The stock rom can be downloaded from Sammobile and Ultimate JB from the corresponding thread in the Development forum (not Original Development). I hope this helps.

PhilZ kernel is flashed in recovery (either stock or cwm, download the zip version). There are versions for all roms, just use the one that matches your rom.

Ill attempt the stock recovery method , no chances of bricking?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
Hi.
I had a problem with Odin too, but my way of getting out of the trouble was using Philz Kernel and then standard CWM Recovery, which I find the easiest way to pimp my Notey Note after leaving my old LG Optimus Black Since then, I never went back to trying to use ODIN in anything. Also as far as I know (but I might be wrong), using CWM doesn't raise the counter (famous yellow triangle indicator).
Hope I've help in any way
hi , actually I update my note gt-n7000 to gellybean but its worse update I ever had....i want to degrade me phone to gingerbread which I had previously used. but I had didn't find any single update available for my phone ON INTERNET which had same baseband i.e N7000DDLR1 , Build number i.e IMM76D.DDLRB, Android version 4.0.4 and kernel 3.0.15-1163394 [email protected] dell171 #3 SMP PREEMPT Mon Nov 5 17:29:14 KST 2012.......AND I had tried so many update from Sammobile.com by using Odin 3.0.4 but every time its useless for me.... can u help me to go to previous update..please help me...thank you.
