[Q] 128GB SD Card + MicroSD Card Adapter = 128GB Nook? - Nook HD, HD+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I was thinking of buying a 128GB SD card and this SD to MicroSD adapter http://dx.com/p/sd-to-microsd-transflash-card-converter-module-27001 and hooking it up to my Nook HD 7" for use with all those awesome emulators and the recent CM builds. Question is, will this work? Does the Nook even support SD cards that big? I don't want to buy something and find out it doesn't work the way I wanted.

Hi,
I have read both on XDA and on the official Barnes and Noble support site that people successfully tested and used 64gb micro SDXC cards. But for 128gb I am afraid none tried or reported yet.
If you do try it let us know it if works.

You would want that big thing hanging out of the bottom of your Nook?

Nobody report it because 128GB microSD doesn't exist.

No, he was talking about a 128GB SD, not microSD. That's why I said it would be a big thing hanging out of the bottom.

My Nook HD (8gig) can't seem to recognise my Samsung 32gig but can for my SanDisk 8gig. Is there some limit for the 8gig model? Should I just try buying a 32gig Sandisk one?

You should be able to see up to 64GB. Is the 32GB one you tried formatted properly. Try formatting it in the nook under settings, storage.

Yea, why would you want that hanging off the bottom of your Nook? And why do you need 128GB of storage for a Nook?

You could tape it to the back and out of the way.

I have

i have one of these, it doesnt work in the galaxy note, but it does work with my S3, there is also a post on you tube , its a rubbish review but you can see it working http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaQIkAHbHoE this should be great with the galaxy mega 6.3, and yes I'd just tape it to the back i dont care if it looks ugly, its only me that will really see it. Im confident it will also take the 256SD card but havent tried,
i also have the little adapter which is in the you tube video which works brilliant on my s3 and it sadly doesnt work on the note, it might work on the note 2 but havent tried it yet...

[Q] MicroSD support up to 32GB?

I have noted that everywhere I see Droid 3's specs I see text: "with memory card, storage is expandable up to 32GB."
Is this correct? Did this phone support only max. 16GB cards?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
The SDcard slot supports a 32GB micro SD. I have the 32GB that came with my Tbolt in mine.
using 32gb in mine too.
Anybody have suggestions for a good high-class 32gb microSD card to purchase? Currently have a 16gb class-2 from my Original Droid so I'm definitely looking to upgrade.
Was looking at this ADATA one on NewEgg. Model #AUSDH32GCL10-RA1. Any ideas? Thanks!

What do you mean by "Class 10 incompatibilities"?
Would the suggestion be to go with a Class 6 until the 10s are better?

SDXC in the HTC Velocity

Can anyone confirm that microSDXC cards work in these phones before I buy a 64GB card?
And if you are using one, would you recommend the brand you have? I tend to just stick with SanDisk but the SDXC cards are pretty pricey

Hi,david
Did you ever find out if the 64gb card worked?
After we ran the news of the new cards we quickly learned that many smartphones including the Samsung Galaxy S II, HTC Sensation 4G, ASUS Transformer tablet and more all work with 64GB MicroSDXC cards.

If they work for those then why not the Velocity.

I have not tried yet, money was tied up, but from what I have read they should work... I have no concrete knowledge yet though, it would be nice if it just said microSDXC on the htc site.

From what I have read, the default format won't work, but will after formatting to fat32.
sdxc works!
okay just so everyone knows..i purchased a sandisk 64gb micro sdxc card and my htc raider reads it just fine. when i first booted up the phone it gave me an sd error, then asked me if id like to format the card, and voila! i think the card came unformatted, thats all. ive got music, videos, files, and games all on it now and havent had a single issue. so yes, sdxc definitely works in this phone.

64gb micro sd - will it work and which is the best

I am looking to up my memory card to 64gb all data for the note relates to 32gb being compatible will a 64gb card work ?
if it will , can anyone suggest a suitable card I am in the uk so will likely use amazon
thanks in advance
I just ordered the sandisk 64gb from amazon uk. It works so head over to the accessories thread to find out more.
got a 64gb sanddisk it works on my s2,note and tab 7.7 ,wish they have 128gb now
Been using it in my Note for quite a few months now.
I got my SanDisk 64GB class 6 card from Amazon for £75, it seems the price have raised to £79. You have to format the card to FAT32 to work in the Note, the is a method to get NTFS working as well.
Here is a screen shoot, I swapped my internal and external sd around so I now have the 64GB card as internal storage.
Man i want one bad. 100 usd is not too bad. Soon as best buy has another sale I'm getting one. How did uu swap memory?

I second the 64gb Sandisk from Amazon. I paid $110 a few weeks ago but it's gone up to $139 unfortunately. The one thing I did have to do, because for some reason it kept disconnecting the card from my Win7 machine during a heavy copy, was to have it in the phone rather then a card reader during copying. I'm thinking that's due to the inexpensive card reader, but in case it happens to you, that's how I solved it!
just checked and they are 79 euro with free shipping I believe which is around 110 usd...

It's better than paying $219 at the SanDisk website.

[Q] max size sd card using cm10.1

Hi
Ok reading over and over and have not seen this one asked.
If I use cm10.1.3 can I use a larger sd card say 64g or can it only still use a 32g? Also what specs of card do I need over my head since I never use sd cards for anything. This is the hd+

You can use any size you want, even 64GB. The best SD to use with the HD+ is a SanDisk class 4.

Hmm, any reason you recommend a class 4 card? I was going to purchase a 64 GB microSDXC class 10 card from Amazon; I don't want to get it if there's some sort of problem though. Please advise; thank you

Yes, there is a reason. Some have reported i/o errors with class 10. But some work ok. But I don't think you can get 64GB in class 4, so you may want to try it. But be warned the 64GB will be mounted as ext_sdcard so is not very useful. All of your apps will use internal storage by default unless you use my swap from my HD/HD+ CWM thread linked in my signature.

You're right, I should have thought to do a quick search for error class 10 and I would have seen a slew of reports. I don't want to risk it so I went ahead and ordered a 32 GB class 4 microSDHC. Thank you again for your advice!
I've been using a Kingston 64GB class10 for almost a year without any issue.
It got it for my original TF101 then moved to the Nook HD+ (formatted it to FAT32 from the start).
I use it mainly for movies, ROMs, TWRP backups.
I actually have many class10, class6 cards from many vendors (many Kingston)... never a problem.
I also use Sandisk 64GB without any problem. I have pics and mp3s in my sd card. No apps.

Yeah, if you can swing it, make sure to get one that is minimum of UHS1 (which is equal to or better than Class 10). The IO pathways appear to be _MUCH_ better on this model. If it can swing USB3, it can handle the IO throughput of a higher rated card. I would imagine with a better kernel we might eventually be able to handle larger SD and Micro SD cards.

The TF700 can so I suppose the TF701 will support it also.
you can install the application on the sd card with android 4.3 version. thank you
I feel stupid posting to a thread that's 4+ yrs old but I need to know. Does the dock have issues reading a micro SD Card with adapter? I bought this device last year used. All is good except I prefer to watch movies from the dock SD card port. The card goes it great and a firm push it clicks into place, but no response from the device. Does not show up in ASUS File Manager app. Completely stock and locked bootloader running v4.4.2 and 11.4.1.29 with DEC 18 2014 kernel. Every thing else on dock works well except for the wobble. I cut two pieces of credit card like strips to tighten the fit and it work well. My micro SD Card w/ adapter is good and works fine in my Win7 PC. That's how I put movies/music on the card. Card and adapter are SanDisk micro SD XC I Ultra Plus .
