[XXBLL5-V8] Ripper Rom no Themes ? - Galaxy S III I9305 (4G LTE + 2GB RAM) Q&A, Help &

Hi im using [XXBLL5-V8] Ripper Rom with Perseus Kernel and 23 toggles .. i tried to install the Moto theme and the Alexander one but they don't change anything .. i tried to install a theme for multi-window but that don't change anything either .. what i`m doing wrong ?
1) installed the rom with factory restore and format sistem and wipe all
2) install Perseus kernel
3) make rom little with apk from updateme
4) install 23 toggles
5) install alexander theme ( no change )
6) install moto theme (no change )
7) install theme for multi window (no change )

What recovery are you using. The themes are VR Themes and are not compatible with TWRP recovery but should work for CWM recovery. If you are using CWM is there free space on the internal storage as the zip has to extract the files and mod them on the storage and then sends puts them into the system. If you have an external sd you could try to move the theme zip file from the internal storage to external and see that lets you flash it

will this work on a GT93005t
Thanks
Simon

i9305T, yes.

I using TWRP recovery so this is the culprit , will the touch CWM work ? I really don't like the normal one with the volume keys and all :crying:

If you want a touch CWM then I recommend using Philz.
Check this thread out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2091223
Has link to original thread with download links

Will the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1995320&page=129 work with your rom , i want the normal icons and the mod for transparent bar and notification .. cant make it work
Do we have a custom SystemUI that we can flash so the mods for 23 toggles and Drop Down Mods will work ,or do they have to be made specific for the 9305 ?
The Motomoto theme say it install a new bootanimation , but i have the original animation still

hey saw your situation and thought i had a very similar one that could be note worthy. i have been using pandariam for awhile now and absolutely love it. thats besides the fact, i had followed his instrutions on installing the cwm recovery 5.5 because of everyone having problems with the touch versions. now whenever the 5.7 release came out i just recently updated to TWRP which cause all themes that were availiable in his pacage to prove unworkable. i had tried probably about 7-8 times before backdating to CWM recovery 5.5 until the kinks are worked out. the touch is nice and user friendly but not when ever it doesnt work with the user's wishes. hope this helped a little and if u run into a problem connecting to your pc or flashing back to cwm 5.5 PM me because i ran into a data network hiccup and a one whenever i tried to flash back to the older version.

My device is a P990h, wich is the same P990 but fabricated here in Brazil
I installed the LG v28G Stock ROM this weekend on my app, coming from a CM7.2. At that time I had CWM 5.5.1.5 and CWM Recovery Touch 6.0.1.5 (payed with paypal) with plenty of backups.
But now CWM doesn't detect the Recovery, prompting me to install it. When I chose to do so, it doesn't detect my device saying that it is not supported:
LG-P990 does not have an officially supported ClockworkMod Recovery yet. Have you installed a ClockworkMod based recovery manually?

As I was concerned with a possible irregular functioning, I said that I did have it and chosed the second option (v3 and higher). Now I have CWM Recovery v5.0.2.8d on my phone and can't find the old backups and stuff anymore!
What should I do? Is it happenning because CWM really doesn't support P990's ICS? How can I upgrade the recovery tool to the newest one?
I'm thinking of installing a v30a stock ROM on my device, since v28G isn't matching my expectations, but I can't put it on with this issue bugging me

You have the steps right there in the first post. I'll leave some explanations
You need cwm (clockwordmod recovery) first. The easiest way to install it is via rommanager https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.rommanager&hl=en. Use rommanager to flash cwm.
Once cwm is installed. Then proceed.
1. Place cm-10.1-20130416-NIGHTLY-p880.zip and gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip in to your internal sdcard
- Download cm http://get.cm/get/jenkins/25315/cm-10.1-20130417-NIGHTLY-p880.zip
- Download gapps http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip
- Move the files to your internal sdcard
You need to be in cwm recovery for the next steps. To do this you need to power off your phone, Hold VolUp and Power Button at the same time to power on your phone. Wait till you get to cwm recovery console.
2. BACKUP ALL YOUR DATA with CWM Recovery
- In cwm console select backup. use vol+/vol- to navigate through the menus and use power button to select the option.
3. In CWM Recovery make wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache, format system
- These options can also be found in cwm
4. Flashcm-10.1-20130416-NIGHTLY-p880.zip from sdcard
- Still in cwm. Select Install zip from sdcard -> choose zip from sdcard -> navigate to where you put cm-10.1-20130416-NIGHTLY-p880.zip
5. Gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip from sdcard
- Still in cwm. Select Install zip from sdcard -> choose zip from sdcard -> gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip
6. Done
- Reboot
I'm not an expert, but that is how I did it.

Actually, the first thing you must do is unlock the bootloader. For now, the only sure versions are EUR-XXX (and to be clear, it's not enough that you installed the Euro-Open FW, your phone must have the software identified as EUR-XXX - for instance, german sim-free phones will be identified as 262-000, even if they install Euro-Open FW, and they don't seem to be unlockable as of yet).
So, check the software version (at system settings -> phone info -> software information -> software version) and, if it's Eur-XXX or something similar, you can unlock the bootloader.
If you're using the all-in-one tool, you just have to follow the instructions on it's thread to unlock the bootloader.
Only then can you install CM with the method akosierwin provided.
Okay i followed the steps and installed clockwork mod via the rom manager...BUT!
If i boot into recovery it says: LG Security,ERROR boot image signature, 5 seconds shut down something something...
Whats that all about? thanks for the fast reply's!
you need to unlock your bootloader first
Yep, unlock your bootloader first.
Here are the steps for that
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224020
Okay i unlocked the bootloader ( when im in the S/W upgrade screen it says unlocked at the top..) i have clockworkmod installed but i cant install anything... All the zips give: assert failed, status 7.. Now im in a bootloop. I can go into clockword mod but thats about it. I have tried other zips than the Nightlys from cyanogen but nothing works. WTF

In the general section there's a thread callled flashable CM 10.1 FIX P880 (or similar).
The status 7 error occurs because of a little line (p880 instead of x3 for device recognition).
Install the CM from there or try to reinstall CWM through ROM Manager (should be latest and working)
And don't forget the GApps (from goo.im or the thread with the fixed CM)

In the steps for installing CM, there is the advice to do a nandroid backup of the existing system!
Is it possible, after wiping and installing CM 10.1, to restore only data, so I would have all my Apps and Userdata back, or would this cause problems with CM 10.1 settings?
Has someone tried this already?
Is CWM after wiping and installing still present?

CWM ist still installed after CM 10.1 flash.
If you want to have your apps + data back install titanium,
though I don't really know about restoring a backup on CM
(but it's a different android so I think it wouldn't work)

Thanks, but I tried with Titanium Backup on V20a (after wiping and installing V20a over V10h) and not all Apps was correctly restored, settings of system, all the screens of Nova Launcher, the Widgets and their settings and many more was wrong or not restored, so I tried with restoring only "data" from CWM-Backup and it works perfectly...
Anyone tried this on CM 10.1?
Glad that it worked

Im a total novice when it comes to rooting. i did manage to root my N7000, but after a few hours my phone became quite muggy...i rebooted it and on reboot it said "upgrading".
Since then it has been unusable, i did the volume up/home/power button and tried a wipe data....phone still wont respond well. keyboard doesn't work, cant get a signal, and its generally so groggy, its pretty much unusable. i managed a factory reset with phone switched on, still no better.

Hey
Hey well ..
You need to publish some information like how you rooted your phone and which firmware you installed after rooting. ??
Please use CM .. and any of its mod its smooth and safe with less bugs in it .. first publish all these information and i may be able to tell you how exactly you can proceed.

Ok ..
First of all if you have properly rooted your android device with (clockwordmod recovery) or any other recoveries etc you need to have a Rom to flash it through this recovery
It is recommend that you must have safe kernel before flashing any ROM. Please download any of CM10.1 ROM from the link below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1789397
Now Get the ROM for your appropriate device from the link below. Select the device and download the ROM. Use any Stable or Nightly version.
http://www.cyanogenmod.org/
Next thing you need to download Google Apps package called GAPPS. Its latest version corresponding to CM10.1 android version 4.2.2 is on the top of the screen. (20130301) using link below
http://goo.im/gapps
Put all the files to micro SD Card. Since your operating system is not working so you may have to take out SD card and put these downloaded zip files to SD card using jacket or your laptop SD card slot.
Now Switch ON your android device to Recovery Mode by Holding Volume Up+ Power and Home Button together
Do following:-
Wipe data/Factory reset.
Wipe Cache.
Wipe Delvik Cache in Advanced Options ..
Fix permissions.
then go to your SD card and flash all these files in order
Flash the Kernel first and after flashing Reboot Your Recovery.
Now Flash
1. CM 10.1
2. GAPPS
Reboot .. n enjoy your new rooted phone
If you still face difficulty let me know ..

Although i haven't reached the 'recovery mode' part yet, i can tell you that the only options are:
reboot system now
apply update for external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apply update from cache
the delvik cache & fix permissions are not options
Adam
Here ur options
Two options with you

Download clockword mod recovery from here.
Again I recommend using Chasmado Kernel and it will automatically install safe recovery files. TWRC or CMD Recovery

LG P990 - blocked in CNW menu

Hello guys, I have a problem with my LG P990 , I tried to upgrade the android version using only the phone(looking automitaclly for updates) [Everything started from 2.2 version] , nothing found, I tried with lg mobile support and I did to 2.3.4 or something after that when I tried to update again it failed so what I did ? I had used the AIO-toolkit without knowing anything, anyway -/+ went in CWM recovery menu , did some scarry things there after I saw that its not any chance with all that options I went to youtube and saw what should I do ...
So.. I used usb storage, I dwnd ROM, gapps and supersu , installed them in that order , reboot system now, everything was fine and then again to CNW menu , then again .. and again CNW menu , and yes, I'm blocked there ,in the menu. What should I do ? I tried a lot of things, taking out the battery , used another rom , using - and + again doesnt work so im done.
If anyone has any idea would be great to hear your ideas, thanks and have a good day.
CNW-based Recovery v6.0.2.5 , btw.
You could still be on old bl while flashing new bootloader Roms. More info needed, such as rom you tried to flash, your current bootloader (pink or white lg logo at startup).
Sent from my LG-P990
I tried cm 10.1 , after that I tried cm-10.1-20140112-NIGHTLY-p990.zip , which is the last one but didnt worked , supersu v1.25 . about logo .. its not pink , its just a normal LG logo ( that rounded logo((its kinda red, not pink)) in the left and LG near it ) .
If you want more info let me know, I dont know many details about phones and systems.
btw, after I'm installing rom, gapps and supersu ( I tried without supersu too) , I go for reboot system now it says S/W Upgrading and after restart its back on cwm menu
Ok, firstly you should try flashing never recovery (latest twrp or latest cwm by misjudged (both could be found on xda)) then you can try flashing roms. Are you sure you have p990 not p999 or su660?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Yes I'm sure I have P990 , what about never recovery? should I download cwm or latest twrp ?
It's up to you really, both do the jog
Sent from my LG-P990
yea , but I don't know exactly what you saying about never recovery ? It's something to install from cwm menu ? or its an option in menu( in advanced options or something) . I'm noob.
Well, you have to install new recovery. You could do that by installing newer recoverys zip in the using the old recovery (just flashing the zip like you would flash the ROM or gapps) būt i can't say whether your version of recovery supports other recovery flashing. The other way iš using aio toolkit, option 2.
Sent from my LG-P990
Anyway it worked to change the version but from this version I can't install any rom , cause of Error Status (7) or something like this, I'll still trying and edit my message.
btw, I cant use option 2 with nvflash , just with ADB , cause now my phone not working when I press + , - when its without battery and plugged in , yesterday it worked when I started to ''destroy'' it.
It worked ! I did it with SlimBean rom and gapps from this forum , 4.3 version . I don't think I wanna try again and change to new one, dont like this one , its nice but not perfect, but its ok, its working. Thanks for all your help.

I think I bricked my phone...

2- I have the drivers since 2013!! I instaled a newer version but , not works.
1- I have these( CWM and Root) because i get this phone with CM 8 and i upgrade it to CM 10.2, the same with CWM.
3- I download the version from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2609021
updates:
I miraculously managed to open the recovery mode and so I again installed CM 10.2.
But I was thinking of installing the stock ROM to see if I could make the system be lighter as a great fact that this phone is not have much larger interior space. Now the question is another: Will settle the stock and cleared with the root, it would be lighter? Or should I look for another rom? And I still can not make the computer recognize the phone.

Wooow! Great!
If you have access to recovery mode, you have all you need (download mode is NOT necessary at all if you can boot into recovery mode ) There's some light CUSTOM STOCK ROMS as Stock Lite, Adrenalin, Spacecaker's roms... they are based in stock firmwares and use custom kernels and mods. are light and smooth, have a great stablility and battery life
Do a back up from your current rom (just in case) and flash one of them
