Is it possible to change the build.prop on kindle fire hd without bricking ? I need it for the google play store.

I have a thread too, its like all the phones, i edited it and it fly ( have init.d tweaks snd seeder too)

I wouldnt say it's like all phones bc I tried to edit the build.prop to download Modern Warfare to bypass the checking device capability and now my kindle is stuck on "updating applications" and it wont boot.

not like that, I DINT CHANGE ANYTHING only added, i only changed the secure things and never got a bootloop. i dindt get anything bad with seeder, what it make, i downloaded the latest one

what it make that i never see any bad, i see my tab smooth, but i think is because i downgraded to 7.2.1 and edited the build.prop and used some init.d tweaks.. the antutu benchmark isnt the best form of testing a device, it can run very smooth all and i got 7780

Just ran this script on my CM9'd 8.9.
It's amazing. Scrolling lag is gone, 'sticky' scrolling is gone. I can load up engadget and the whole website is loaded from top to bottom, can scroll up and down it without waiting for anything to load it's so smooth.
Best of all, press the home button and it doesn't keep having to redraw widgets.
Go install V6 Supercharger now people.

There you go mate, make sure you follow the ics only instructions on post #2 as well!
Its very simple, just make sure to install busy box 1.18.2. Any other version won't work.

As long as I know you need init.d access. Only a custom rom does that.

Ah OK...well there are a plethora of them in the dev section. And overcome is a stock based rom that this would work great on.

What'd you mean? I'm running Cyanogenmod 9 ROM, and the V6 supercharger script has definitely worked.
You do need to edit the services.jar tho but its all explained in the thread.

Shame it doesn't work on the stock rom, I love the Samsung stuff and TouchWiz needs speeding up more than anything, I don't wanna lose the social hub though.

As nice as the hubs are, I'd use a custom rom over the stock any day of the week. The stock roms just too slow and laggy, makes the hubs useless. I'd rather have a smooth device...yeah it means using crappy apps like plume and friendcaster, but gets the job done...

Sweet. Someday when I have an extra hour I'll read all the install instructions and give it a go. I've never seen such a long OP for installing a mere script. This looks more complex than unlocking my Wildfire S's bootloader and rooting!

When i upgraded to ics official i see that gameloft games like order and chaos etc.. is hidden or said unsupported device.
If you want to play here is the fix:
Install Build.prop Editor
Go to Build.prop Editor and change this:
ro.product.model=Optimus 2X

I installed this app to try it, "Xperia_Launcher_2.apk" and I do not want to use it and want to remove it.
when I go to installed applications it only gives me the option to force stop.
I not sure how to uninstall the app?

You need a root uninstall app or use a root file explorer to manually remove it.

Firstly thanks to Cyanogenmod Team and the AOKP Team for the Roms that im using to Port.
The Rom is based on the cyanogenmod nightly release date 2013-05-17 the kernel is dated on 2013-05-25. The AOKP nightly rom are dated 2013-05-18.
About the port:
The Rom is usually and works correct without forced closings or something! If you are an Hardcore-Gamer or Benchmarker dont use it.
What is not working:
Nfc don't work I'll try to fix it. NFC is fixed
All things working well! If u find some bugs tell me about it and i try to resolve it.
I did some edits on the framework to make internal, external-sd and telephony working.

For me I don't need much power. If its just smooth its enough.
But how is the battery? Other roms tend to run out fast.
Also: nice work and thank you very much. I love the AOKP rom.
Maybe i will update the rom but priority for me has to resolve bugs on the rom...and porting other roms... Everybody fell free to optimize the rom!

Try to use "cleanup for reinstallation from Google play" and see if it helps, I've had this issue before. Also check the binary is up to date

Yes, even a total format, reinstall, fix persmission...trying to install busybox/supersu/su by hand.

I´m on it... i think i can solve it! I haven´t recognized the SU prob... i restored my data partition an they have Su because from other Rom... I do Update the Rom...

It's mainly because of the policy, the system partition is mounted RO, nothing can be written to it, it's the same in Mokee and CM-11.
