Flash a v20 do a factory reset in recovery, cache wipe, dalvik wipe, flash superuser.zip (http://androidsu.com/superuser/) reboot and it should be done. If it doesnt work, flash an UNPATCHED (without cwm) V30 version.
you cannot install cwm on official ics release...
fixing is very simple
install any bin and fls files with smart flash tool (if ics, dont inject cwm)
your phone will work great...
you can find detailed info in general section noob guide.
good luck.

I can help but there is a risk you might brick your phone but if you know how to recover from a bricked optimus 2x then youll be fine.
what you have to do first is download a p990 nvflash rom to wipe and repartition your phone into P990 configuration.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1715272
after installing the NVFlash rom, install a P990 CWM recovery; make sure its 5.0.2.8 for P990. Find it in the forums.
then place this zip file on your phone via CWM then install it via CWM.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27912487&postcount=31
after that, open /system/build.prop using a nice file manager like Astro file manager or Root explorer and edit
Code:
user.feature.lgdrm=true
into
Code:
user.feature.lgdrm=false
to enable media and stuff.
NOTE: There may be some times that your phone will suddenly black out, not work, or stuff. all you have to do is remove battery -> boot into CWM -> advanced -> reboot recovery and it will reboot normally.
So far, everything works with this method including STK (Sim tool Kit) BUT FM WILL NOT WORK because the SU660 does not have analog FM hardware.
ALSO: accelerometer seems glitched or inverted in some games. quite annoying. very hard to find a fix so if you can find a fix then maybe you can post here and help the SU660 community.

because the custom rom only replaces the system folder. the CWM recovery automatically checks all the patitrions to find out where to put the rom. that's why we need unique recovery for every kind of phone!
hi i have a lg optimus 2x korea and i cant boot into custom rom.i installed cwm recovery and clear cache, data and successfully installed my custom rom but when i rebooted the phone i was stuck with the lg logo.can someone fix this.thanks also i forgot to backup.so how is their a method to return to stock
Try wiping everything and flashing ROM again. Give it a 2nd chance. Else you can download another ROM (in pc etc), put it in micro sdcard and flash it.
You can go to stock by using smartflash(search in Development section), but believe me its more pain n the ass to do that!! besides you lose you root and recovery too.

Use LG update tool to update to the latest country ROM and then you can get back root, custom ROM and so on....best always is the LG update tool which wipes all in a safe and best way
Try and try as I might, I can't get the LG software to recognize the phone no matter what I do.

in this link all orignal roms are there and installing method....
I had rooted my Optimus Black right from the first week i had bought in May 2012. Tried all the possible custom ROM's out there. Huexx's Zeus ROM was my favourite. But due to power problems (abrupt restarts and excessive heating during charging) I had to give my Black to service center for repair. I made sure that I switched back to stock ROM before I give it back to the service center.
Since then, I have been unable to ROOT it !!
Tried all the possible methods to root it:
CWM Injection, Smartflash resulted into BOOTLOOP's when i tried to flash older V10 and V20 firmwares. Only firmwares that worked were V20 F and V20 G.
This got me really frustrated as I just couldnt ROOT IT.
Today I flashed European V30 with the intention of ROOTING it with Unlockroot.
This time i was successful in ROOTING.
I installed Rom Manager, Flashed CLockwordmod Recovery. Rebooted into recovery and was greeted with a "LG Security Error" !!!! The phone just wont start.
What is going on ?? Is my bootloader locked ?? I dont know ??
Can someone please help me ??
Official ICS has bootloader locked.
lg putted a "crc check" on the bootloader so if its modified like your case, it gives a security error

Does that mean I am stuck on STOCK firmware from now on ?? This sucks.
I also came across things like for the Optimus G and Nitro.
Cant anything be done regarding this matter for the Black ?
Removing the very essence of andriod OS by LG by resorting to such stupidity really DISGUSTS me.
Please Dev's, come up with something. STOCK LG roms suck ass.
yes you cannot have cwm with that rom (atleast this easy)
flash another rom with smartflashtool
Download THIS and use THIS tutorial .. you`ll get Gingerbread rooted. After this install rom manager and you can install custom rom.

Tried it but FAILED.
STUCK on LG logo with the bottom lights blinking. Waited for more than 10 mins but just stuck there.
As I had mentioned earlier, can boot successfully through only stock firmwares like V20 F, V20 G and V30. Cannot flash patched roms and neither can I flash old V10 firmware as it results in BOOTLOOP.

A lot of people flash a patched V20 and they forget to flash the Superuser and that results in a bootloop. At least it happened to me when I first rooted my OB in ancient times.Maybe this is the case.

IT WONT BOOT AFTER FLASHING PATCHED FIRMWARE. STUCK ON LG logo with blinking bottom lights (strange but true).
Tried Rom Converter 2 and 2.1, Injection Method, everything.

also CANNOT boot succesfully throuh a Stock V10 (so that it becomes easy to root).

Did you start smartflash as admin? Disable anti virus program and firewall maybe?
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda app-developers app
Hi
This happens if you flash original v30b with smart flash and the only way to go back to GB is flash a patched v20 version....
And it directly first boots into CWM...now dont restart....just flash your backup from your memcard, this will bring your phone back alive....
You can try copy any other zip version in your memory card if u dont have backup....
The problem is original v30 formats the phone in some diff format.....
Flashing it back with CWM...brings it back alive....
If you already flashed patched version then u can try to enter CWM by console...adb reboot recovery......else do as mentioned above....

Use the AIO tool to flash a recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34809475
You should install the APX drivers (if you haven't already, of course) , then use option 2 to install a recovery via nvflash. Just follow the instructions on the tool.

1 Download whatever ROM you want to use
2 Download SmartFlash Tool (password: bluedreams)
3 Download [PATCHED]V20S_00.7z
4 Unzip SmartFlash Tool and use it to flash unzipped V20S
5 When SmartFlash Tool will finish, your phone will reboot into recovery.
6 Wipe data, format system, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache and flash the ROM you downloaded during first step.
This whole process has been tested by me and it worked as expected.
I hope that you don't encounter issues, but if you do so, ask here for help.

To root it, flash superuser.zip in recovery (search it on the internet). If you are on Gingerbread (V20), you don't need to unlock the bootloader.

I'm sorry, I misunderstood your question. The right answer is: no, you don't need to root your phone or unlock its bootloader. SmartFlash Tool works with rooted and unrooted phones, unlocked and locked bootloaders.
