NY Times app loses full access ONLY on N7 - Nexus 7 General

I'm a NYT subscriber. Yesterday the NYT app on my Nexus 7 started telling me I don't have access to the subscriber-only articles, even though I'm still signed in. (Tried logging in and out to no avail.) I still have access on my GS3.
I checked the Play store and it seems others have been having this problem over the last few days. Anyone else experiencing this? What gives?

[Q] Google Chrome error for XDA

I suddenly am getting errors from Google Chrome saying that this site (XDA) has been infected with malware that could damage my PC. It gives me the choice to close it or continue. I took a chance and continued, but it has me bothered. Anyone else getting this error?:fingers-crossed:
Just tried on mine, and it was completely normal. No warnings.

Same here.
(As in yes, getting the malware notice)

As I said in the OP, this is happening on my laptop (PC), not on the Nexus 7.
If you look in the general xda thread, there are some conversations going on about it. Hopefully it will get resolved shortly.

I ran Malwarebytes and it found nothing, but if it is too new for the scan update it won't be found. I hope it isn't anything to worry about. I'd hate to think I got something bad from XDA of all places.
I think it has to do with some people's signatures.

Anybody unable to play Plague Inc?

I played this game a lot on my LTE, but it crashes on startup on this phone. I even tried going back to previous versions. None work. I'm running ViperROM, but I'm wondering if anybody has been able to play this.

I've had this issue before when I tried playing on a new phone. I emailed the app dev and they eventually fixed it. It took a few weeks though. It's most likely because it's a new phone and they need to update it.
Works fine on mine but I'm stock/not rooted so maybe the Rom.

Same thing happened to me. GPS couldn't lock on a signal and after a while it randomly locked on one.
Same here. I got a lock using the 'GPS test' app and it seems okay now.

Same happened to me. I updated to 4.3 and I've never had a phone with faster GPS. I know its not am answer, but I'd imagine everyone will be on 4.3 soon enough. The GPS and Bluetooth are amazing now.

Mine crapped out a while back (didn't coincide with any update) but impacted more than just Google Maps. My running app also stopped working. I used the GPS test app and it kind of worked but was still very unreliable.
Called Google, told them I already did the requisite reset, and they shipped me a new phone in two days with a call tag for the old one. Been working since.
I had this issue once and found that there was an issue with the Location settings permissions. So I cleared map cache and data and then restarted. Turned on permissions for locations and it worked. Just a thought.

Hangout Notifications

Is anyone experiencing any issues not getting notifications in Hangouts? I only get them 10% of the time, no sound or icon in taskbar. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it didn't help.
I am using hangouts for my Google Voice number, so I don't know if that makes a difference.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Fabio

Ya, I noticed this morning it was doing the same thing. It might be a google issue also. Going to so if it clears up by later today.
I have the same.
I have the same on a Samsung Galaxy Alpha. No messages are coming in unless I actually open the app, then everything comes flooding in all of a sudden.
Push notifications are working fine for all of my other apps.
Hopefully this gets fixed soon

It seems to be working fine for me now. Must have been fixed on google's side.
I use hangouts for 8-10 hours per day constantly for work. During that time period I am signed in on my work laptop and for about 4 hours of that time, I am also signed in on my home laptop, and of course my phone is always signed in. The only times I ever miss notifications is when I am in very poor coverage with my phone AND I am actively using hangouts on one of my laptops. I experienced the same behavior on my S3, Incredible 2, and Eris. I have never not received a notification when I was not signed in to 2 or more devices in nearly 5 years of using gtalk/hangouts for 5 or more days per week.

It was a pretty widespread issue last week and was well reported online..so you must have just not noticed that they were coming in delayed.

Last week I took Tuesday - Friday off so I hardly used hangouts at all other than for some SMS so I must have missed that.

Yeah I think OP just assumed it was turbo specific.

XDA app and Amazon app get stuck?

Has anyone else noticed that the XDA app sometimes loads a thread immediately and then other times it gets "stuck" where it can take a very long time to load? When it gets stuck, I can click back and then click the same thread again, which sometimes will load it quickly. I notice the exact same behavior in the Amazon app when clicking a product. It happens on both WiFi and LTE and has happened with every version of android so far on the N6.
I use XDA and Amazon all the time so this is a particularly frustrating issue for me.
UPDATE: here is a video demonstrating the problem with the Amazon app:

Which XDA app? Theres like a million of them. One of the tapatalk versions?
I'm using the XDA premium app.
I'm not convinced that it's an issue specific to the app though because I didn't notice this on my Nexus 4 and the exact same issue happens in the Amazon app.

XDA premium is based on Tapatalk and Tapatalk has problems on this forum. Its specific to this forum too, because taptalk works fine on other forums I use. I think the API on XDA for Tapatalk is outdated and since XDA are working on their own new XDA app (XDA One), they're probably not going to be too bothered to fix it.
Not sure about Amazon
Tapatalk has gone into the toilet over the years at this point I would honestly pay to go back to an old version. The iOS version is such a monstrosity and just so horrible its at the point of being unusable. if the thread I want actually comes up and displays I feel like I've won something.

Thanks for the replies. Seems like this might be something a new XDA app could fix.
Here is a quick video I made showing the Amazon issue:
Amazon App getting stuck on Nexus 6: https://youtu.be/bjDayQJVV3g
The first 2 products open fast and then the third gets stuck. I click back and re try 5 times and on the last try, it opens fast like the first 2 did. Anyone else have this issue with Amazon?
Yes you are correct ..Those are the worse two apps to get "stuck".. Only other app is WWE SUPERCARD..Every other app is fine..I do believe it is app issues not phone related.
