Samsung was giving out Flip Cases for the Galaxy Note II and the SIII at CES 2013 show in Las Vegas. I decided to go orange. Didn't think I would like the orange color after getting it, as the day went by I really like the orange color. Here is a quick video of the flip case.
looks great! I'll take it if you want to off load it
i guess it's an acquired taste. like coffee. however, it does look very nice.

Thanks for the review. I ordered the orange one when Samsung was having the free flip case promotion and I was wondering what it would actually look like. A co-worker has the light blue one and that one was really pretty too.
So sad watching the video and seeing the crack on the screen. Such a bummer.
I tried an orange case but found myself growing breasts so I returned it.

You would have to view it on a regular browser, I believe if you are viewing from the iPhone it won't load. I could be wrong but will look into maybe adding a mobile link.

:crying: Yes, first week of having the G'Note II it slipped out of my hand and landed on the corner and weird part was it didn't crack on the spot. The corner was scratched up and later I went to use the phone and the crack showed up. More likely it put pressure on the corner and cracked afterwards. I'm going to replace the whole screen and LCD, but will wait for the price to come down from $300.00 for the parts.
The orange color reminds me of the Dodge Charger car.

Hey guys.
For those of us who prefer the OEM flip case but want some drop protection, consider buying a cheap lariat and feeding it through the speaker hole on the back. Wear the lariat around your wrist when using the phone and if you drop it the phone never hits the ground.
The lariat also helps you to pull it our of your pocket if you are wearing tighter jeans.

I have the orange as well. I got it for 50% for registering my phone via Facebook. The orange is very odd. It's almost peach in bright lights. I find that the flip cover gets in the way most of the time. It is nice though. If you use a car mount.... get ready to hate the cover.

I wouldn't recommend you keep it on like that, I did that for awhile and eventually the piece started to bend. Instead feed it through the hole and tape the lanyard to the inside of the back cover, You won't see the tape when the cover is closed . Don't put too much though or the cover won't close. It's kept my phone from hitting the ground thus far. This was the lanyard I used http://www.ebay.com/itm/4X-NEW-T-MO...368729?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item336ab1ca99

I have a case with a weird issue. Its grabbing my nexus 7 so tight that its squeezing the power button internally or something so screen goes off immediately after unlocking. It doesn't happen at all without case on. Gonna return it to amazon and grab a new one since I've been super clumsy lately and don't want to break my new toy. Any suggestions? Edit screen turning on and off appears to have something to do with light any ideas what it might be?

What kind of case is it? Many cases have a magnet in the lid, that should shut down the screen when the lid is put over the screen.
Some cheap cases also seem to have a bit too powerful magnet, so even if the lid is turned behind the screen, nexus 7 still detects it and shuts down the screen.
Does your case have a magnet?

Sorry, I didn't see this at first.
The Nexus 7 has a wake/sleep sensor, which is activated by the presence/absence of a magnet. As noted in the last post, if your case is compatible with the sensor, then when you open the case's cover, the N7 wakes up. When you close the cover, it will go to sleep.
(I wish I would go to sleep that easily!)

ah weird thought it had something to do with the lighting. then why was i able to duplicate the result by moving the camera around the ceiling fan light bulb? couldn't do it without the case on though so that has to be part of the cause. anyway i can't see a magnet but doesn't mean it's not embedded in there. this is the case by the way http://www.amazon.com/MoKo-Slim-fit...=1356622879&sr=8-1&keywords=moko+nexus+7+case
Alot of those cheaper cases use magnets that are too strong and flipping the lid over turns off the screen from the back. I owned a Blurex case just like that one and I liked it alot actually. Because of the design, I can't imagine it has anything to do with the power button.
Play with the lid, as I suspect that is your problem. You may be able to put a piece of tin-foil behind the N7 so the magnet's effect is tainted from behind. That or pick up a new case. I really liked that style of case as it felt very protected. I eventually moved to the Poetic slim case (iPad style) but the quality was disturbing. After a few weeks the plastic started to buckle and tear.
I ended up with a Portenzo Book Case that I like very much. It has a great feel to it, doesn't add bulk, and looks very nice. Overall it is holding up very well. The tablet is held in by 2 3M sticky pads. The top, bottom, and button-sides are exposed. The magnets were adjusted during initial releases and working perfectly.

tried with a fridge magnet no luck. oh well got a leather pouch laying around that i think i'll just store the thing in when not using it and carrying it around. it's not like i'm gonna go walking around using the thing and not paying attention to where i'm going like i might with my phone.
Wow they sent me another one for free without me even asking and it works great. Definitely go ahead and order one if you are interested. Must have read my review

Okay well I ride a bike a lot so it's expected that I get caught up in a thunderstorm sometimes...
IDC About the screen or buttons being visible when this happens, just so as long as the case snaps tightly shut and prevents any water from seeping through.
Any good suggestions, a best buy repeat suggested an otterbox defender but I don't think that is waterproof is it?

There are a few companies that make small dry bags. Seems a bit extreme to me, but that would definitely keep it dry.

I've got a nice lil jewelery shop zip lock baggy that the note 2 fits in perfectly, it measures out to 4x7" but the if it's a really heavy down pour I got a small dvd sized store plastic shopping bag that I double layer it up in just in case.

Used on a 200 mile kayak trip to keep phone and money safe and dry. Excellent water protection. Difficult to use all phone features through thick plastic case. Much better than a ziplock bag, durable.

Bought this to use our little point-and-shoot while water rafting. It keeps the water out quite well but the pictures are not as clear as they should be. The plastic film leave quite a bit a haze on the pictures. Also wasn't the easiest accessing the controls, including the shutter button. Still, probably better than having to deal with buying a waterproof disposable and having to then go and (ewww!) develop the pictures. Certainly cheaper than buying a waterproof digital camera. All in all, not a totally horrible trade off.

But neither of those can be submerged. I think a lot of people define "waterproof" as in being able to be submerged/dunked/dropped in water. Not just splashed.

Yea right I know what ya mean... But in that case I'd just leave my ziplock baggy I have right now and keep it inside that case, and if it got to be too much of a down pour, I'd double it up in protection. Or one of those other 2 thick plastic cases and use it in that as well as the bike mount case.
But I doubt I'll be getting that submerged in rain water, unless I accidentally rode my bike off into a swimming pool full of water. haha!

Guys,
I got myself an Xperia SP a couple of days back and as part of the promotional offer by Sony, I got a free "Made For Xperia" flipcover case with it. Its supposedly worth 1,899INR (says so on the box) but while the covers texture feels nice, the quality doesn't feel that good. Anyways- quality aside, the phone is a tight tight fit but that doesn't bother me as much as the cover not closing shut properly.
I have a Transformer Infinity and my mom has a Note 2 and both of our flip covers lie flat on the screen instead of awkwardly resting like this. So I wanted to ask- is this normal? Not just for the SP but do all Made For Xperia cases rest like this? Even if I push it down, it pops back up. The only way I can get it to rest slightly is by pulling the case outwards to the right side of the phone and even then it still pops up by a millimetre.

even though i bought my phone on 10th dec 2013

it still managed to happen i wonder why
i did get my board replaced though
it was giving me camera crashing and heating problems as well
but this makes me wonder how can fungus pop up on my motherboard so fast.
Moisture attracts fungi... Make sure you keep the phone away from water and let it not get damped...

If you shower with your phone next to you it can be possible that the steam from a hot shower can cause fungus to grow.

i just got my dot view case in the mail and don't care what some of you may think about this case, but it's amazing. it doesn't add that much bulk like other flip cases do and yes it is a little pricey but i think it's worth it, plus if you have a discount through verizon depending on where you work, you could save some money on it. mine came to $32 after tax which is what i expected to pay for a case anyways. the sides, top, and bottom are not covered at all but the corners are. i'm sure if you drop the phone with this case there will be some sort of damage to the phone depending on how it's dropped. please keep your negative comments to yourself as nobody wants to hear them.
all i've got for now

they have it at the vzw store
I received my Dot View case in the mail today and I'm disappointed with it not sitting flush on the screen when laying flat on a surface. Do all of yours lay completely flat with the front flap closed? Maybe it needs to loosen up a bit but I find it quite annoying to double tap on the screen because it doesn't sit flush.
Seen one in person at a Verizon store and fell in love immediately with it. Looked really cool and didn't add much thickness to the phone. Went up to the rep and ordered one to be shipped to the house as they were out of stock pretty much everywhere in my area.

Mine sits flat no issues here and I haven't had it for a full 24hrs so you may have gotten a defective case or try just folding it backwards for a little and see if that loosens it up some.

i just got my dot view case in the mail and don't care what some of you may think about this case, but it's amazing. it doesn't add that much bulk like other flip cases do and yes it is a little pricey but i think it's worth it, plus if you have a discount through verizon depending on where you work, you could save some money on it. mine came to $32 after tax which is what i expected to pay for a case anyways. the sides, top, and bottom are not covered at all but the corners are. i'm sure if you drop the phone with this case there will be some sort of damage to the phone depending on how it's dropped. please keep your negative comments to yourself as nobody wants to hear them.
all i've got for now

wrong. some of us like to hear the negatives to balance the gushing over it. i almost got one until i went into the store and actually felt it. Id pay like 20 for it,
I been using the HTC Dot View Case all week.
I like how it feels around the phone. I wish the hinge had a bit of give in regards to folding it back. Having to hold it back sucks sometimes.
I did do a review on it if you guys want to check out.

Picked up the commuter today to hold me over until i can find the dot view case.
One of the display models in the VZW store had a dot view case on it so I got some hands on with it. While it is kind of neat I don't feel it is worth the price even with my employee discount. I feel that the "holes" will fill with dirt and lint which would be difficult to clean out. If I found one for $20 or less I might pick one up to have but otherwise wouldn't buy it.
are you guys buying it from the verizon store or from somwhere else? bestbuy is all sold out everywhere it seems...
