Okay well I ride a bike a lot so it's expected that I get caught up in a thunderstorm sometimes...
IDC About the screen or buttons being visible when this happens, just so as long as the case snaps tightly shut and prevents any water from seeping through.
Any good suggestions, a best buy repeat suggested an otterbox defender but I don't think that is waterproof is it?

Ziplock bag is as close as you're going to get. No one makes one.

There are a few companies that make small dry bags. Seems a bit extreme to me, but that would definitely keep it dry.
I have a dicapac waterproof case for divers.
They say up to 10 meters, I never had any problems. It's very durable
In your case it will be good enough.

Very. I use them when I go for runs! hehe. I put my phone in my pocket in a case, and then in a ziplock bag. The case for any bumps and the bag for sweat .

I've got a nice lil jewelery shop zip lock baggy that the note 2 fits in perfectly, it measures out to 4x7" but the if it's a really heavy down pour I got a small dvd sized store plastic shopping bag that I double layer it up in just in case.

Used on a 200 mile kayak trip to keep phone and money safe and dry. Excellent water protection. Difficult to use all phone features through thick plastic case. Much better than a ziplock bag, durable.

Bought this to use our little point-and-shoot while water rafting. It keeps the water out quite well but the pictures are not as clear as they should be. The plastic film leave quite a bit a haze on the pictures. Also wasn't the easiest accessing the controls, including the shutter button. Still, probably better than having to deal with buying a waterproof disposable and having to then go and (ewww!) develop the pictures. Certainly cheaper than buying a waterproof digital camera. All in all, not a totally horrible trade off.

But neither of those can be submerged. I think a lot of people define "waterproof" as in being able to be submerged/dunked/dropped in water. Not just splashed.

Yea right I know what ya mean... But in that case I'd just leave my ziplock baggy I have right now and keep it inside that case, and if it got to be too much of a down pour, I'd double it up in protection. Or one of those other 2 thick plastic cases and use it in that as well as the bike mount case.
But I doubt I'll be getting that submerged in rain water, unless I accidentally rode my bike off into a swimming pool full of water. haha!

Samsung was giving out Flip Cases for the Galaxy Note II and the SIII at CES 2013 show in Las Vegas. I decided to go orange. Didn't think I would like the orange color after getting it, as the day went by I really like the orange color. Here is a quick video of the flip case.
looks great! I'll take it if you want to off load it

Thanks for the review. I ordered the orange one when Samsung was having the free flip case promotion and I was wondering what it would actually look like. A co-worker has the light blue one and that one was really pretty too.
So sad watching the video and seeing the crack on the screen. Such a bummer.
I tried an orange case but found myself growing breasts so I returned it.

:crying: Yes, first week of having the G'Note II it slipped out of my hand and landed on the corner and weird part was it didn't crack on the spot. The corner was scratched up and later I went to use the phone and the crack showed up. More likely it put pressure on the corner and cracked afterwards. I'm going to replace the whole screen and LCD, but will wait for the price to come down from $300.00 for the parts.
The orange color reminds me of the Dodge Charger car.

Hey guys.
For those of us who prefer the OEM flip case but want some drop protection, consider buying a cheap lariat and feeding it through the speaker hole on the back. Wear the lariat around your wrist when using the phone and if you drop it the phone never hits the ground.
The lariat also helps you to pull it our of your pocket if you are wearing tighter jeans.

I have the orange as well. I got it for 50% for registering my phone via Facebook. The orange is very odd. It's almost peach in bright lights. I find that the flip cover gets in the way most of the time. It is nice though. If you use a car mount.... get ready to hate the cover.

I wouldn't recommend you keep it on like that, I did that for awhile and eventually the piece started to bend. Instead feed it through the hole and tape the lanyard to the inside of the back cover, You won't see the tape when the cover is closed . Don't put too much though or the cover won't close. It's kept my phone from hitting the ground thus far. This was the lanyard I used http://www.ebay.com/itm/4X-NEW-T-MO...368729?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item336ab1ca99
Guys,
I got myself an Xperia SP a couple of days back and as part of the promotional offer by Sony, I got a free "Made For Xperia" flipcover case with it. Its supposedly worth 1,899INR (says so on the box) but while the covers texture feels nice, the quality doesn't feel that good. Anyways- quality aside, the phone is a tight tight fit but that doesn't bother me as much as the cover not closing shut properly.
I have a Transformer Infinity and my mom has a Note 2 and both of our flip covers lie flat on the screen instead of awkwardly resting like this. So I wanted to ask- is this normal? Not just for the SP but do all Made For Xperia cases rest like this? Even if I push it down, it pops back up. The only way I can get it to rest slightly is by pulling the case outwards to the right side of the phone and even then it still pops up by a millimetre.

hello,
so last night i just noticed that something was wrong with my jack
left side was louder than the right
i tried alot of things
and finally went to LG service
and they opened my phone up
and saw there was small fungus on the motherboard
even though i bought my phone on 10th dec 2013
and used a cover all along "THE ARMOR CASE!"
it still managed to happen i wonder why
i did get my board replaced though
it was giving me camera crashing and heating problems as well
but this makes me wonder how can fungus pop up on my motherboard so fast.
Moisture attracts fungi... Make sure you keep the phone away from water and let it not get damped...

If you shower with your phone next to you it can be possible that the steam from a hot shower can cause fungus to grow.
Also I noticed that you said the left side is louder than the right. I'm assuming that you're talking about the speaker? The speaker is only located on the left side and the right side is for the mic.

One of those really cheap screen pens of Amazon.com. They have a plastic 3.5 jack on a string to plug in the jack, to keep it with the phone. Cut the thread and use it to block the hole. Cost a dollar or less

I think you should run with it and see what you can harvest down the line. Might be worth more than the phone itself.
I got mine from Tmobile, there is no case included in the package, i saw this video and there was a case included. I like it 'coz it has a plug / cover for the usb. Or is there any variant of that?
pretty sure that this case only comes with the international htc ones, so if you are in the United States you will not get it, which is ridiculous
I think it's because we don't the replacement screen in first six months over here, so they give us a free case instead...
Guys, the case delivered with the international version sucks big time. I am using it since release 04.04.14
- It is not close to perfect fit. The handset could come out anytime easily.
- The part for micro-usb and phone jack doesn't close all the way after 3-4 days. I decided to cut that piece to avoid hassle.
- The ruber looks already worn just from putting in my jeans pocket.

Yeah it's not great, definitely not worth paying money for but I'm still glad they included it. I'm still using mine until I can figure out which third party case I want.
Just sold mine on Ebay. Offered to someone on here but the postage to US was around $15 - obviously you can buy a case for that.
On the flip side, had mine since release day and used as a daily driver and not a mark on it.

I'm sorry to disappoint but my case starts wearing off on the edges too. I only wear jeans and not the tightest ones at that. I never dropped my Phone and i do not have a car. Hence i didn't even leave the phone and case in bright sunlight to heat up or something.
Made a picture if mine few days ago. Here it is.
The case was included in the box for me, as a temporary case, it's fine, but I'd strongly suggest buying a different case if you're going to order one.
I, myself, have ordered a Dot View case, but I'd suggest getting a Spigen or something if you're ordering one.
Here's mine, been in use for a since 27/4, I usually take care of my devices so I'm not sure how it was scratched this much, but that shows how scratch prone it is:

I've had mine as long as you have and... what the heck do you do with your device? Either your jeans are too tight and caused all that scuffing or you're doing something else with it because mine looks pretty much the same as it did the day I got it -- and the flap still closes properly.
I've got it on my M8, and its scratched, port covers doesn't close properly, and doesn't slide in and out of pockets very well. Good for a case that comes with the phone but wouldn't recommend buying it if you didn't get it with your phone.

Just a heads up guys, I bought a aluminium frame bumper for my edge...it looks great but it totally screws up my gps. The phone really struggles to maintain a gps lock, and drops often. As soon as I take it off, the gps is fine again and it works fine with a plastic case.

be careful with this. put something similar on my iphone5 and it kinda caused rubbed marks on the aluminium on the phone when I removed it. when manufacturers make these kind of bumpers, they need to line the inside with rubber or plastic because it doesnt take a scientist to know metal on metal is not good...
edit: also looked online and apparently you can use metal wool to buff the marks out
Uhh since this post is on top again. I bought this thing and posted pics in the "post your case" thread.
Overall good case with slightly off manufacturer tolerances(based of the one I recieved). Some extra bits of paper here and there, and it fixed the problem for me.
To address the above issue. The back of the case is lined with a cloth material, and the sides are lined with foam. It wouldn't scratch your phone.
How about the GPS issues mentioned earlier?
GPS works fine.
My experience wit metallic bumper can´t be worse. I used it only once, with the HTC M9, and it scratched the corners while decreases the signal quality... A real mess that I would´t advise at all.

try search online and you can buff out the metal on metal scratches/marks
I bought it, pretty much same one. Cost $15 on eBay. Comes in a fancy metal tin, with extra screws and screw driver. The signal loss was barely noticeable if at all. Definitely excellent quality.

I already have one from ebay. And it works great with my s6 edge. You can search the item ID 121649023539 on ebay for more information. Here is the one
I ordered.
I take my comments back about these bumpers. It's effecting my cell/data signal.
Don't buy metal bumpers.

bad times…! I think the signal is distorted by the metal. even my DAB radio goes a bit weird when my laptop or S6E is too close to it
Interesting, I wonder why there are so many of these metal bumper threads and why so many people keep saying they're great and don't affect the signal. Separately, I would think that there could be a market for just simple rubber or plastic bumpers.
