Hi all,
I have yet another question...
As I saw thus far, the only possible languages to use with the NOOK are English (US) or English (UK). Is there any possibility to use other languages? maybe something from play google store?
Thank you in advance

Long press on zeam's screen and select shortcut. Then select AnyCut and activity. Scroll to the first "language" you see and say ok. Then there will be a shortcut on the screen. Select it and your language choices will be there. There are several "language" choices in the AnyCut scroll, I am not sure which one controls the attribute you want. Experiment.

Just press your finger on a blank spot on the zeam main screen and a dialog box will pop up.

You are long pressing on the stock home screen, not zeam's. These directions were assuming you had flashed my Universal Root which adds the apps Zeam and Anycut.

It's not just you; it's one of the features that isn't here now. Remember this ROM was designed for an eReader (the great thing is, with all the development, it's easy to forget). There are a couple apps in the market that try to replicate copy/paste using OCR, they might be worth trying until we get a custom ROM.
We need a custom rom like yesterday!!

"jaydon34 We need a custom ronn like yesterday!! Sent from my book color using XDA App"
The above was copied and pasted from your post on my NookColor. It turned rom into ronn, but that can easily be corrected.
I got the Copy Paste It app from the market (on mine, I had to check the setting to rotate screen clockwise or it would rotate it). It keeps an option to open it in the notification bar. Click on it when you need it and copy the text you want (it processes it as an image and uses OCR text recognition). There's a trial version of the app.
Now there's no way to paste natively, so you're going to need to be using a keyboard with a paste function. I'm using SlideIT, which has an option to paste on the special characters layout. Press paste and it's there!
Obviously this is clunkier than Android copy/ paste, but it's a working solution while we're on the stock NookColor ROM.
Anyone know how to remove the "recent apps" section in the notification menu?
I dont use/want it and its just a big waste of space.
Running GingerX gingerbread sense rom =D.
Thanks ~MM20
Go into /system/customize (using root explorer or something similar) and scroll down untill you find notification_config.txt,
tap it, then menu then open it in a text editor and just delete where it says recent apps, then hit menu - save and close. Then reboot the phone and you're sorted.

I just think its bulky and I never use it and it rely limits the actual notification space.

you cant remove them. unless you install an external task killer.. which is not recommended.
Let me assure you that its not a waste of space, the apps are dormant after a while anyway...
Re-boot will get rid of all of them.
You can get rid of them if you're rooted.
You have to find the notification.config, txt of whatever rom you're using, and edit it. It's normally in the /data folder. Try searching for it.
That will sort it out

Not sure if anyone else found this or if it is in other ROMs but in 2.3.4 HKTW ROM you can customize the app launched by double tapping the home button to whatever you want. You just need to change the line 'double_tap" in the settings storage (com.motorola.blur.providers.settings) settings.db. It requires you to put in the <full app name>/<full app process> (not sure the way I said that is right) like com.yahoo.mobile.client.android.im/com.yahoo.mobile.client.android.im.YahooMessenger
Just realized I probally should have put this in general not Dev....sorry. Dev's if you can put this into an app or something that be sweet too.
I thought you can change that in settings in froyo.. Can you not in gb?
Xda app via atrix
In stock froyo for ATRIX there was a limited number of options for double tapping home

Yes, but this trick work also on froyo..
In settings storage->settings.db->settings->double_tap
I think it would be good to be part of atrix mods app!! NFH should add this!

sorry, i don't want to be the bad guy, but i have seen this on all stock firmwares...nothing new, just another great "dev" post, like the haptick feedback one...
please let keep this forum clean for real developing mods. Use general for discovered little things.

Yea thank you for explaining to me that which I already mentioned in my own post (That it should have went in General).
what is the string if i want to set phone wakeup/sleep if double tap
I don't think you can. Problem is two fold.
1) you need an app to call
2) the touchscreen turns off when the screen is off and if this did not happen then it would cost a lot of battery life.

This seems like a dumb question but I haven't figured it out yet.
,
As you install appz, they get dropped into the appz menu in chronological order. Also the pages aren't full, before the next page gets added.
How do you fill in the open spots and get them in alphabetical order?
Open your applications, press menu button and then edit. You will be able to arrange your applications any way you like. There is also an option to create folders.

There's no way to do this automagically?
I have a ton of appz and want them to be alphabetical and every new app to be alphabetical.
The GSII Skyrocket does this??
I had the same problem too. Was a pain in the rear end. Until I found appzorter from the market. Works like a charm!!

You should ask the swype team. They probably haven't set up the app to be compatible with the screen res properly.
I think most people have moved onto swiftkey these days.

I've used Kii Keyboard on this and on my 700. It allows you to customize the size of the keyboard in many ways. For example, the amount of space to the left of the keyboard, or to the right, the size of the keys, whether or not the arrow keys are displayed.
:good:

As far as I'm aware, they don't use the tablet version any more, Swiftkey have consolidated the app into just 'Swiftkey Keyboard'. I'm not sure if this means you'd have to buy it again, but that version works fine on my TF701. Have a read through the description on Play Store and it'll explain better than me.

The numbers on top has the stock ASUS keyboard.
Swiftkey for tablets you can't purchase anymore, only currrent users who bought it will get updates.
But the ASUS keyboard you can swipe on also.

That's what I was wondering too. I did mess with my res settings and after I set them back to default my keyboard was overly large. I force closed the keyboard (thumb keyboard in my case) and then went back into language settings and reset it as the default. Everything was groovy after that.
How do I change res setting
