What is it showing as baseband in about phone settings?
if it is showing unknown then you need to flash a different modem
even if it is showing some baseband version still flashing a different modem may resolve the problem

@dev need help to build your custom rom for P version

Hi dev´s,
i come from mobile hd2. now i have the p version of galaxy advance s. i can´t test any of your roms. but i would like to.
the problem of the p version is the different baseband version. right?
how can ich change the baseband. compile from source?
if someone of you would help me to customize one of your roms for the p version it would be very nice. i´m a beginner developing.
perhaps it would be helpful for you too.
i hope you agree and like to help me?

The Problem is, tested on supressed rom, no sim card would be detected. because of wrong baseband i think. csc is the region info. i think only change this would not solve the sim card problem.

Hi CallMeVentus,
thx. changed only the ril files? solution might be to change baseband and ril.i think change the files in filesystem only would be enough or? build up new from source with correct ril and baseband could solve it.
how can i merge them? custom rom with the related files?

[Q] Missing Baseband - Xperia Z- FreeXperia Project

After flashing to cm-10.1-20130407-UNOFFICIAL-yuga from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2156919&page=34 CM10.1 - Android 4.2.2 the phone does not get a phone signal. In system it shows as baseband version unknown.
I have followed some tips in the above forum for turning on wifi and areoplane mode but to no avail. Any idea how to install a missing baseband?
Thanks.
I don't think it's a missing Baseband, maybe something with ril files, the devs will find a way to fix it.
If you have stock ftf file you can try to flash the baseband separately with flashtool.

Hi gm007, thanks for the reply.
Having used Samsung for years was not sure the best way forward to Sony.
I have downloaded a C6603_Generic_Uk_No_Branding.ftf and will look into how the flashtool option works.

I tried CM and i had the same issue, baseband unknown cause my phone is c6602,so i flashed c6603 baseband and it's fixed.
So if you have c6602 do the same.

Hi robdevil & gm007,
I did not manage to get it sorted last night, unfortunately I was running low on time.
I tried loading a .ftf in flashtool but got a bit lost, could not seem to load it.
I have currently re-loaded a recovery image I took earlier in the day and will look at trying to load CM10.1 in a few weeks, give some time for the RIL issue to be resolved.
The version of phone is model C6603.
Baseband shows currently as 9x15A-ACEFWMAZQzz-30110017-06.
I think I will also try and find a guide on how to use flashtool, which I am sure will be handy to know before I look at re-flashing CM10.1 in a few weeks. The flashtool I used was this one: http://androxyde.github.io/ Flashtool Version 0.9.10.2beta4 built on 2013-03-21 19:00:00
Thanks.
Update: Seems that the no network issue is currently resolved for some and not others in the latest build by codeworkx http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2156919&page=39
I send my phone for repair. Problem is I don't know what is happen as someone bought it from me and after 2 weeks said it has sim issue and send it back. Will see what Sony says.
I have the same problem with Xperia Z, european unlocked model.
With original Sony rom it works fine, with any CM10 there's "unknown" baseband.
Tested both FXP and the CM10.1 "nightly" - no gsm network support in both roms.
Interesting to hear racht that the issue still exists and seems to be related to FXP & CM10/10.1 roms. Hopefully a fix will be implemented by the devs of the roms in due course.
I had the same problem, however rebooting several times and turning flight mode on and off solved it.

I had this too. There are methods to fix it, but I just installed the first version by codeworkx, the 0407 build didn't work for me with the baseband. Install the first one by codeworkx, then see if baseband works. If it does, then update and cell will still work. At least for me.

So what you're trying to say is that if I have a C6602 model and I've installed CM10.1 and if I'm having an unknown baseband issue then I should flash baseband from C6603 model firmware?

Yes. Download a ftf file and load it in flashtool then just exclude everything but the baseband and flash it. I had this problem when I installed AOKP it takes a couple of minutes to get signal after the phone boots

Which version should I download? Is there any ftf which has only baseband? It is very difficult to download a 700MB file just for flashing baseband.

Phone Reboots

Just got this issue yesterday out of nowhere.
I can't make a call. Each i try to do so, it only stays at calling but the receiver is receiving my call and when they answer my call, my phone still stays in calling so without being able to do anything, i end call. Phone will then lose the network, no bars no nothing and it will reboot. It happens to any call i make, even pressing any random number, as soon as i hang up, it will lose all network and then restart.
when receiving a call, i can accept it but hear nothing. and again, after i hang up, my network will disappear and phone will reboot by itself. I really need help
My phone is i9305

Warning, the link @Irwenzhao posted is a thread for S3 i9300, @JohnBonchie has a i9305 !
If you JohnBonchie wants to flash modem and test if it fixes your "no network" issue, try to flash one of those 2 modems :

Did you check your networks APN settings ?
If no luck, may your SIM is the culprit...

EDIT : Sorry, I've just read that you run L DROID : if those 2 KK modems modems doesn't work (I think it will be the case because L-Droid is not from stock KK firmware but from AOSP sources) try to flash another Android 4.3 JB modem for i9305. Also could you provide us your modem firmware version in About phone settings ?

What I'm asking is what carrier are you using your device on and if the device is branded by a different carrier. Most times flashed devices won't be officially supported by another carrier flashed devices are different from unlocked devices as some flashing requires a "donor phone" for an IMEI and this can be problematic for data etc.

Post this thread under Galaxy S4 Forum and I promise you vill get help... It´s not that hard
There you can get help to flash back the stock firmware for your phone and to get everything to work again. Thankfully the Samsung phones are quite easy to restore.
Probably you will get help to get the right IMEI too... unless there´s something else behind the fact that it differs from the label. Perhaps a new motherboard on the phone after a repair?
Still... post it in the right forum and I promise you will get help
i'm really confused

Lets suppose they changer the motherboard ....So why do i still get an imei that starts with 4457.......... IN the status
and the one under the battery starts with 35...........
Strange... I agree...
However... if you restore to Stock firmware via ODIN the you will probably be ok.
Again... take a look at the S4 Forum, you will se that you are not the only one with this problem. So your motherboard is probably the original one, the flashed firmware is probably at fault.
When you flash firmware for ANY phone, stock or modified, it´s very important to get the right firmware for the right model, or a fimware that is tested for your phone. If you want totally stock it´s very important that you get the carrierversion of the firmware (for example Verizon or At & T)
Stock firmwares can be found at Sammobile.com. There you can also find the tool you use to flash it... it´s called ODIN. Very easy to use if you make sure you follow the instructions and have the correct drivers installed on the PC
