I decided to use the android 2.3.6 stock rom GB.JVKT1 while waiting for a stable working CM9. The stock ROM didn't have a YouTube app so I decided to download it. Problem now is that it keeps foreclosing and it just won't work. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Its working fine with me.. My phone is not rooted.
Hi, i was going to update my SGS to firmware 2.3.6 xxjw4 from 2.3.5 xxjvt (via kies) and was wondering if the semaphore jvt_1.9.1 kernel would be ok or is there a better or specific one?? Thx
I flashed 2.3.6 with the latest semaphore kernel(2.5) and it went well.you should be okay
Well yeah it would work, but I don't see why you'd stick to gingerbread or any stock rom while you can try custom ICS Rom ... my SGS is rocking one of those now and it's totally great
Thx
Updated it and works well...but now in the process of installing ICS so thx for the help
It was easy and good before ics. When someone says LA3 we got everyinformation we need but what about ics LPY wtf???

Well, there isn't a fix for the brick bug in 4.0.4 and there is roughly a 5% (I think that was the statistic) chance of bricking your phone if your phone is affected.
Yes you can upgrade but yes there is a little risk
But dont worry you have your warranty
And i think its the risk worth taking bcoz 4.0.4 is more stable than 4.0.3
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Go for it! 4.0.4 is really good
Classic ROM v1 LRG , Mod Pack 1 , Green Theme with SpeedMod K3-9 kernel.
go 4 it....its really more smoother than 4.0.3 update...!!!:good:

So far as I know, upgrading your stock ICS to 4.0.4, through Kies, should not lead to any brick issue. Worst Case, if anything does happen, U do have warranty for the same.

There are many lockscreen apps available for free in market which will allow you to simulate jelly bean lockscreen on your GB phone..
