Hi. I´ve used motofail2go from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1928509 to root. I haven´t noticed a problem with mi RAZR i sound so, I need to take it to waranty but there´s the problem that the waranty is "avoided" with the root. So I need to unroot my phone. I haven´t unlocked the bootloader, thats why I used motofail2go. Is there any way to unroot?
My firmware is 871.110.13009.XT890.AmericaMovil.en.MX.

Simply reflash any firm with RSD Lite (Use the newer versions, like 6.14)
You can search a firm here

Hi Guys, i'm noob to this and would appreciate if someone could give me some advise.
If my phone is bought in China, called MT788 here, is it possible and safe to root it and flash the firmware with a retail GB?
The original firmware is IRPMTD_6_02.47.00RPS, IFWI version is 05.A8, Baseband version is L1713-MSA_1.10.05.P01.
Does anyone knows if this AIO works? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2026031
Thanks in advice

Ok, so pretty everyone here has heard of the supposedly upcoming jellybean update as well as an incoming bootloader unlock for euro open O4Xs. I bought this phone unlocked from amazon. Bottom line- it has a Taiwan branded stock rom on it. Does anyone think there'll possibly be a chance I will have my bootloader unlocked too or should I just not get my hopes up?
Anyone?

you'll just have to flash the EU-open firmware before unlocking the bootloader. that's it.

Just flash an euro open firm...
Hello.
I bought my phone from amazon too, and i just flashed the newest firmware via kdz because the update wasn't available via OTA. My phone is also branded TW but it is just working great. You won't have problems.
This is for my curiosity and many other users who I know are wondering the same thing, I've searched for this, but can't really find anything that answers it to my satisfaction.
So I'm running 4.3, with build number .290
I want to root my phone, but I know I need to flash .534 back to my phone. As far as I know, THIS will stop my sim being recognised by the phone. Do I then need to ROOT the phone, and then flash .290 again for the sim to work again.
So which .290 flash will I use? Just the normal FTF file for .290?
Thank you, I'm an active contributor to the forum, but I like to be super sure about what I'm doing before I do it, and I gather many other users do. The reason I'm asking in such detail is because my phone was rooted before, I updated (by mistake) to 4.3 and then flashed back to .290 where it stopped my sim working. Took me a few hours to work out how to fix it, as the pccompanion wasn't working for me!
Thank you!

If you want to flash the firmware you have, follow this guide from part B to part C, then you will have a ftf copy of your current firmware.
About the root thing, downgrade to .257 then .534 so you don't have the IMEI and signal issues. Then root and OTA to .257 and then, if you get OTA update to .290 go for it, but some people said that you will only get partial root access.
So you will have to either flash a prerooted firmware or unlock bootloader and turn off Sony's RIC and then root the normal way.
To unlock bootloader, just follow the instructions here but don't forget to backup the TA partition using this guide.

Hey everyone,
I spend a lot of time trying to root my wonderful new Xperia Z1, the problem is that I want to make a TA backup before I unlock the bootloader but I can´t find a method anywhere to root the phone without unlocking the bootloader. And as far as I know you can only backup TA with root access...
Do you have any good idea how I can solve this problem?
Thanks in advance
Edit: I´m running android 4.3 /.290
You didn't search very well. You can root your phone with Locked Bootlader with this method only, by NUT .
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2572988
then go with this one

I found that aswell, but I was a little confused because the requirements say
Current rooted FW version: 14.1.G.1.534 and 14.1.G.2.257 .

So I guess it already has to be rooted with another firmware, but how I´m supposed to get that version on my phone without unlocked bootloader or root?

Sorry, i can't understand how you can miss all this stuff. Did you saw the Video Tutorial? There Shem explain everything, you have just to read carefully. Downgrade to .534 FW provided by NUT to not lost IMEI, Root with Bin4ry, update to .290 like the instruction saying then the same for .136.
Ok it worked now, sorry, I just had no idea how that should work, the video explained a lot.
Thanks for answering anyway
when you think that it could be possible to root our Xperia T with 4.3 update?:fingers-crossed:
Downgrade to 4.1, root, upgrade with root to 4.3, this is the best way currently.
I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get a direct root method for 4.3 since we can do what I said above

That's the method if bootloader is unlocked, there's a few of us not willing to unlock it yet.
Use flashtool to roll back to 4.1.2, doomlord's rooting technique for rooting that firmware, jump to the development forum to grab the touch recovery by peetr, and then use darklord's deodexed stuff to get rooted 295 - did it today and the steps are relatively well mapped out for you - I can vouch that it works for locked bootloaders on stock firmware :good:

you can downgrade with an ftf, I'm a non-unlockable bootloader so know the stuff.

Yes, you can downgrade, but you can't upgrade using Sony Update or Companion, you can flash rooted rom via recovery. If you upgrade with Sony tool you'll loose root.

Yeah, so obviously when I say downgrade and root, I then mean you can have the intention of flashing one of the stock rooted 4.3 ROMs

What, rooting fresh installed 4.3, not flashing 4.3 custom rom?
I have locked bootloader, I only went back to 4.1.2 with flashtools, then installed root and CWM, after that flashed Dark Lord's 4.3 stock (the Bond one) and the SuperSU zip in recovery.
Everything running correctly.
Somebody will try to root it once the Z2 is launched: you can't downgrade that, but if a working root exploit is found it will probably also work on previous xperias.

// 2 weeks ago, i upgrade from 4.1.2 (rooted using doomlord v17) to 4.3 (singapore version using flashtool)
with 4.1.2 i have root and how all we know with original update the root permission were lost.i don't want to unlock again my bootloader.i prefer that it will be locked, for keep it most possible original, because i like the sony software.i want the root only for xposed and his modules.
Hi all,
I know it's a known issue on Android. But my question is another.
I've a Moto Maxx from Brasil with locked bootloader. Is there anyway for me to maybe downgrade and afterwars upgrade again ?
I don't know if this can help with my problem, but maybe worth the risk. My battery is not lasting one day with normal use.
There's a way, but you need to unlock the bootloader.
You'll be re-flashing all of Kitkat EXCEPT for gpt.bin. (That part cannot be downgraded.) You will then have KitKat back. You can also then upgrade back to Lollipop.
But if you mess up the flash, you can brick your phone if the bootloader is not unlocked.
IF your bootloader is UNLOCKED, then you just go back into recovery and re-flash again. Everything can be fixed if your bootloader is unlocked. If you try flashing with a locked bootloader, it's much harder to fix mistakes, if they can be fixed at all.
Go here and read. Be sure to thank @Jaocagomez for writing the tutorial...
