Root denied - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!, I have a problem with the root, when i try enable "widgets in drawer" in Nova Launcher. When i select this option and put the widget on the screen, appears a message that say: "Root unavailable or denied, disabling Widgets-in-drawer". I try to install SuperSu and also change the rom, but the problem continues. This problem only happen on Nova Launcher, in Apex Launcher this option works.
Sorry for my English

Go to SU app and change permission from deny to allow to nova app

I think there is a problem with root, you have to go back to stock and root it again

How i change the default launcher?

Hello, i need to change my default launcher, in my rom its comes with Launcher Pro by default, and i want to integrate with Go Launcher instead, but, to be used to default when i install the by Open Recovery, and i removed the Launcher Pro. Any file i need to change to make the Go Launcher the default launcher ?
Thanks
I'm not sure I understand what you did. But if you installed GO Launcher and then removed Launcher Pro, as soon as you reboot GO Launcher will be the home app.
Or, if you have both installed, you could go into Settings->Applications->Manage Applications->All->LauncherPro and then hit "Clear defaults" in the "Launch by default" section. Reboot and when phone comes up it will ask you to select which launcher to use (you can mark the checkbox to make it default).
no, i want to make these change directly from the zipped rom. Not when i install this ROM.

Just remove launcherpro.apk ( or whatever it is called ) from /system/app and replace it with the go launcher.apk
Thanks. I will try this.
You know how i can set too the configurations of apps and system by default too. For example, set by default to accept install of unknow sources, Jit disabled, etc. ?

Try removing it through Applications > All. If not, remove it from system/app using Root Explorer.

default launcher

I downloaded & installed the ADW launcher ex from the playstore.
I am having a problem setting it as the default app.
the stock kindle launcher is set as default, but when I go to the application menu and scroll down to were it says "launch by default",it says "no defaults set".
I have tried using several different home switcher apps, but they do not recognize that the ADW launcher is installed.

Did you try installing the launcher as a system app? Reboot, then it will upgrade and you should be able to select the default.

this wont matter. All you have to do is make it a system app. you can do this several ways. The easiest way for me is to download ROM toolbox, App Manager>HOLD down on ADWLauncher EX>Convert to system app. then when you press the home button itll ask to set default launcher. select adw and BOOM! Default Launcher = ADW . hope this helps ya.

Install Go Launcher HD Without Root?

I just can't figure out the whole rooting thing. But I hate the KFHD's interface. Can I change it, if so, how?
Go to the Amazon App Store, download Easy Installer. Then go to Google and search for a Go Launcher HD .apk file of any version. Transfer that apk file to your storage on the tablet, load Easy Installer and install the launcher. Afterwards, go to your apps and initialize the launcher.

Didn't work for me....
That tells me nothing. WHAT didn't work for you?
I downloaded Easy Installer, got the apk and installed the package. After Go Launcher installs nothing happens. The option to "open" is geryed-out, my only choice is to click "done". After that, Go Launcher doesn't appear in my app list.
Then that launcher isn't compatible with Android 4.0, or at least with Amazon's OS. Apex, Nova, and ADW works fine.

I just wanted to confirm that this method creates an icon where I actually boot the launcher? I've considered the non-root methods to install an alternate launcher but it looks like they all are kind of a "soft" install where hitting the home button actually takes you back to the Amazon OS (requiring you to re-open the alt. launcher.)
You can set it inside the launchers. Nova, for example, allows you to change the function of the home button, when you press it, it asks what launcher is your main one, and when you select Nova, every time you hit the home it will return to Nova.
And yes, it does create an icon in your app drawer.

Direct Dial Widgets don't work with marshmallow

It says "App not installed" when I select a direct dial icon.
Do I need to adjust permissions for this to work?
using nova launcher, it asked me to give the widget permission and then worked.
stock launcher does not ask for permission and does not allow widget to work.
how do I give widget permission in stock launcher?

Question Can't uninstall Nova Launcher? Help!

Hi everyone,
I've just flashed a new Mi 11 with the EU rom running MIUI 12 & android 11.
I've installed Nova and now I can't remove it!
The normal method of long press in the icon gives the menu 'share /app info/uninstall' but hitting uninstall just removes the icon for second and then it's back.
In settings I've force stopped it and cleared all data but there's no uninstall option.
I've gone the Store route and that just says is has to be deactivated but the option isn't in settings!
I've checked under Security > Authorization and Nova not listed (if that's the right place to look?)
I've tried to uninstall it with adb and that fails with 'Delete_failed_device_policy_manager'.
The main problem I have with it, is it's dock won't disable. The toggle to switch it on/off in setting doesn't do anything, so it's there on every launcher I install and on the stock launcher.
can anyone please suggest how I get rid of it?
Many thanks.
OK, finally fixed it.
Needed to disable it's admin access.
