Flashing ROM via stock recovery is a bad idea... And Odin will only recognise your phone if it's started in download mode. Try following tutorial. Somewhy it works for others...

Do u have cwm installed ? If not then u have to first get cwm and then flash a rom ...
If u have cwm then .. Go to recovery
Wipe data and cache
And try flashing a different rom ....
Or re download the rom ...may be file is corrupted ...

Galaxy Ace S5830 not booting up.

Hello. I tried installing xperiatized v13 rom. I followed the procedure..did all wipes, but then after choosing "install zip from sd card" it doesnt show the zip file. I very well remember that i pasted the zip file in the sd card, but it is not showing. and then phone is in boot loop. Then, i tried to flash official 2.3.6 DDKQ8 rom using odin. An hour went by, it was stuck and nothing happened. I tried again opening the download mode and it shows emergency dload mode or ramdump mode. I try going in recovery mode, it shows a phone icon - an error icon - a pc icon. Please help !! Need to get the phone back alive asap. :crying:
Are you sure you have the Ace S5830?

[Q] tried to install TWRP on galaxy ace now wont boot

Hey. Im not sure if there is a thread similar to this or not, I tried looking around and cant see any. The one i did see, was for a tablet.
Here goes....
I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i. It has gingerbread on. I rooted it 2 days ago as eventually I want to install JB onto it. I Tried to install TWRP (TWRP-2.4.1.0-cooper) onto my device, then rebooted after a 'successful' install. Only when I reboot, even now, it doesnt boot up. It gets to the Samsung screen, then stays there. Left it all night ( 12 hours or so ) and checked this morning, still the same.
HERE IS HOW I DID IT:
1. Rebooted into Recovery ( by holding Volume Up + Home + Power )
2. Apply update from sdcard
3. Scrolled to the file (TWRP-2.4.1.0-cooper)
4. Said successfully installed and rebooted.
I then swapped SD Card with another phone so i could remove this file of the Samsung phone, and replace with with recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.6-galaxyace-fix then put the SD Card back into samsung.
SOOO, today I tried the same procedure, but with another custom recovery (recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.6-galaxyace-fix) and now I get this messages:
E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
I have even used ODIN, and tried to flash that way, BUT IT SAYS MY PHONE IS NOT CONNECTED.
All I want to do now is be able to boot, NORMALLY so i can access my phone again. My phone is on contract, so I cant send it back as it has been rooted.
PLEASE HELP.
thanks in advance.
P.S ON THE ACTUAL RECOVERY PAGE, I GET THIS ERROR MESSAGE:
E:failed to mount /system (Invalid argument)
AW: [Q] tried to install TWRP on galaxy ace now wont boot

[Q]SGS I9000[ 2.3.3 to 4.2.2] looping to Recovery mode

Dear Friends,
Please help , have spent 48 hours struggling to get SGS I9000 (initial version 2.3.3 , Gingerbread XXJVO) . Long story short ,
1) Copied JB 4.2.2 , Gapps to SD card
2) Backed up SMS, Contacts, Apps , Calls
3) Installed ClockWorkMod v3.0.0.5
4) Downloaded Rom manager and booted in backup mode, took back up.
5) Removed Sim card Installed JB 4.2.2 , found No Network , not sure what happened ,So thought will go back to my initial version (2.3.3)
6) Started in recovery mode and tried to get back to old version , selected the version and tried , then phone restarted.
7) Now comes the problem , Phone was on startup screen , with "S" . So removed battery and tried to go to the recovery mode again and tried to see the contents in SD card , but its showing as Can't mount /sdcard,
All the time its going directly to CWM recovery...where I cannot load Files from SD card (as its not mounted) or if I reboot again its coming to the same screen...
8) Tried all the ways , formatted SSD card , flashed 2.3.3 again , but nothing working.
Now I need to get my phone up and running , as soon as possible . I am looking for jobs and without the phone and my contact details , I will be really struck , Please help me ..
Kind regards
Raj
Hey,
Seems like you didn't flash in another file.
Search for a file called dbsdata.rfs.tar. Its needed when you go from ICS/JB back to GB. Flash it through Odin.

If you can get to cownload mode, flash this: http://www.darkyrom.com/index.php?threads/odin-darkyrom-10-2-resurrection-gt-i9000.4272/
Then upgrade to cm10.1 by following this guide: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_galaxysmtd
This is imho the best way to upgrade.

[Q] Rooted my phone, then by mistake i formated the sd card

Hi guys, can you help me...
I had my phone rooted, but had some bugs with my rom so i wanned to change it. I found a S3 rom and the guy that posted that thread sayd to do format and not wipe, before installing. So...i accidentaly formated my sd card dont ask how...i know...it was dumb, because of that no no no no no no etc options befor the yes option. but i got distracted and i hit yes.
Now, even tho i tryed installed that rom, and it does say instal complete...my phone isnt starting. I press the power button...samsung logo...and it loops there.
On the recovery screen...on my sd card, there is only a folder with S3 wallpapers.
What do i have to do now ? can i even do anything ?
P.S...i have to mention...i did format the data and the cache...before the sd

So you wanted to flash a new rom and before you flashed it, you formated your sd card? Then just take the micro SD and put another or a backup of your current rom on the SD card again and flash/restore it.

You don't need another SD card. Just take your old one and connect it with the sd adapter with your PC. Then you copy a new rom into your sd card and flash it via CWM.

Did you followed the installation procedure from the OP of your rom? How lobg did you waited on this Samsung logo?
Do you have the galaxy ace drivers installed on your PC?
I actually don't think that this would work

It sayd pass ( after completion )...but here's what i get : the first black screen with samsung logo and website...the black screen with Galaxy Ace s5830 logo...and then...the blue screen...with another samsung logo...that gets stucked. And trust me...i waited ) counted 10 min...and a bit more, but nothing.
I flashed CWM 5...and now ill try to install another rom ( not the S3 rom ) and see what happens.
wish me luck )
so i did...installed The Ultimatum...after the reboot...i stayd like 7 min with the Samsung Galaxy Cooper logo...and then a black screen....and its still there... even tho its way past 10 min...

first revert to stock rom and have a fresh installation
in cwm wipe everything and format
1 cache
2 data
3 system
4 sd ext
then you might install the rom successfully

yep...so...here's what i've done :
downloaded a stock firmware from my country...downloaded a cooper v1 file...
i put them in odin...and flashed them. It worked...sayd passed...but i got this : first black samsung logo from the start - ok...second Sams. Galaxy Ace logo - ok...the third animated blue screen logo with samsung...keeps looping. I left it like that for like 20 min and nothin happend...keep looping.
So i did what u sayd....got into recovery...flashed CWM 5 ( cos i was on stock )...wiped and formated all u sayd...and flashed the S3 ultimate zip.
It works ( i guess....im still on the wellcome tutorial screen...setting up google ).
The problem is...i've done this 3 times last night and didnt worked.... Same thing...Odin...stock firmware...loop...recovery...flash CWM 5...format ( or wipe....i tryed both )...flashed S3 ( and the ultimatum...). But none of it worked...only CM10.
Anyway...im glad it finnaly worked....U all have my THANKS

you said that your ace looped after stock rom and you wipped and formated everything i said but buddy if you install stock rom after that you just have to wipe cache and factory reset
formatting all things that i posted was only when installation a custom rom from cwm not in stock one
if you had just wiped cache and factory reset you might have been able to boot into stock rom

Galaxy s3 mini GT-I8200 ve

Hello. Looking for some help. Have s3 mini ve 8200. Rooted. When I turn it on it stays stuck on original s3 screen. Will not load any further. Yes, I can get to recovery mode so it's not a total brick. Have tried to clear cache from recovery but get error. Have tried to erase data/reset gives me error.little Android picture has red !. Tried to download original os and flash using SD card. Will not take just resets to s3 screen. What am I missing??
Do I need PC to flash original rom using drivers and Odin?? Or can I download to sd card and flash from there if I can't access PC??
I know this is old phone just want to see if can be fixed before I scrap it. Thank you for any advice or help.
To flash complete stock rom (.tar.md5 file) you need PC with samsung drivers and odin. If it doesn't work, maybe it's a partition error
