ICS update schedule delayed once again

Bad news guys... If this source is right then LG delays the big Android 4.0 update once again. Instead of September it is now said to arrive in October.

Author stated 'the source who provided us with this news was from within LG Indonesia'.
Well, I am not surprised. This surely is the first and last LG phone I bought.

Honestly I'm fine with a new thread if its a significantly update and something we didn't already know.

So much hatred... better concentrate that on LG. There are many other ICS thread in this section and I found this information important enough to deserve an own thread. If mods think otherwise they can simply delete this thread an put my post in the general ICS thread. But you're not a mod, so stop *****ing.

Android 4.2 - OTA/Information/Update/ETAs

As we all know Google officially launched Android 4.2 on Monday the 29th of October, they updated the Android.com Website but there is no ETA for a Android 4.2 Update or Source Release on any of there Sites.
So if there is any you know, post here in this Thread to keep the Forums tidy! :good:

Android 4.2 will be released to AOSP and begin OTA rollout to current devices when the Nexus 4 ships or shortly thereafter.

It will come after the Launch of nov 13th... The announcement was 29th not the launch day. GO read the 29th announcement and read when the new phones will be out..

Thanks to you both for a bit of polite sanity. I think it's great when folks get excited, some may ask obvious, and sometimes slightly pointless questions. But to become the master of the universe, and declare a thread should be shut down, is plain childish.
The only lesson worth learning if you are an ANDROID user is. Buy a NEXUS device. At least then you have a reasonably good chance of getting a timely update. So spare a thought for the folks who don't own a NEXUS device. LG Optimus 2X users (The world's first dual-core phone), are still running Ginger Bread. yikes.

Nexus 7 will get 4.2 between 12-14. And I am sure we will get source of 4.2 on 11th.

Google's Nexus 7 page says the n7 comes with 4.2. Obviously this isn't true and they jumped the gun, but this means it's coming... very soon!

4.2 will probably hit AOSP next week, before or around the release of the Nexus 4, custom ROMs will appear a day or two after and OTA for the factory image will be release a few weeks later.

To be fair you'll probably find if you order one from Google now it will ship with 4.2 on it, but if you buy one from a shop it obviously won't.

No, if you order it from google it still ships with 4.1.2

Has anyone gotten confirmation on when the 3G model will be released? Also, will it be released in stores or just Play Store?
I've read at many sites that it should be out on 11/13, but those sites also said the end of October a month ago. I also read a T-Mobile internal document that said there will be a 'T-Mobile SIM included' version, but that's going to be available only on Play Store. Another site said it will only be available with an AT&T SIM.
So.....a lot of conflicting information. I hope to pick up one a Sams Club on 11/13, but am not sure if that's going to happen.

Madmanepic, if you was the first to get your hands on the N5 then this thread would be some what justified. Half the forum have received theirs so its pretty pointless making a new thread... Plus you can post this in the existing threads.

I saw a thread for photos. and i saw a thread bashing the camera.
Did not see a "I just got my phone thread."
Figured i would help people who had questions about the phone using prepaid service.

Okay so i know this is hot stuff already, but for all you slow people out there, here's a link to geohot's method to rooting. You just click on the A looking thing and download it on your phone and you should be rooted! REMOVED because its already posted VECTUS
