I really love JB, but battery drain on every one i tested is unacceptable (i.e. 30% loss or more overnight). On gb with THE SAME modem - 2%.
In result i always go back to GB immidiately, even if I hate it.
The only good rom besides GB i've had was some old Slim ICS version... Was lasting long as GB.
So, does anyone can point me to the JB rom with no crazy battery drain?
I've even bought new original samsung battery (1650mah), but still with my usage phone lasts half day.

adjust cpu governors .... u have to try every ROM available.... at least one of the ROM will give better battery life.....
@up
it's not that. idle killing battery isn't governor related
well, MesoROM is great gb rom, but ffs, android 2.3 is so ugly and feels like an awkward beta version... damn

I am on Slimbean JB Beta 1, and when it is in standby ( without wifi or 3G ) the battery drain is very low, less than 1% in 6 hours.
But as for Slimbean or any other JB roms I tried, the battery drain very fast when I use the 3G.

i'll try mentioned above. slim bean based on 3.1 was one of the worse in terms of battery though

I'm on CM 10.1 and battery drain is acceptable (about 1.5 days) with quite heavy usage. But it's only possible with:
* network switched to 2G only most of a day
* Google backup and restore disabled (using TB only)
* location services switched off or at least with GPS disabled
* WiFi turned off when not at home (using lama to do automate it).
Try these if you do not need them on all the time and see if your battery lasts longer.

if you want it to have lesser lag try adding some tweaks then OC. but that will cost you battery.
so for me performace = battery.
if you want longer battery life you can't have that performance.
Search Android development for scripts and tweaks.
You can find one in my signature.
Maybe some scripts will work,But battery is a big problem.

Flash a Kernel which have a battery extender then go to setting->Leistung(Excuse me but I dont know what Leistung is in english)->CPU Settings->Max. CPU Frequenzy to 825 MGhz.Because of the Battery extender it won't take tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
much battery life.

Hi mayhem
I believe that good battery life and no lags at the same time, perhaps the samsung stock rom keep it simple
Custom rom's are recommended when you want more than that
Download ds battery saver from play store for battery.

The battery life on my girlfriends note is rather poor, I'm not sure how the kernel work with the note but she's currently running jellybam. Can anyone suggests some energy efficient ROMs ?

I am using SAmsung Stock ICS 4.0.4 with Philz kernel. I have no problems with the battery.
BurtROM LSZ and PhilZ LSZ = PERFORMANCE AND BATTERY PERFECT.:good:
Rightnow my note is running on jellybam it can stand for day with fair usage

It depends on how you define poor.
There's the usual things to do, you can undervolt to help, throttle the top end, get better battery stats to check for wake locks, make sure gps /wifi /bluetooth /sync aren't on when you don't need them. Turn down screen brightness as that probably the biggest drain on battery, so using apps with light background isn't great.
You can use different governor / scheduler combo. Some people say pegasusq /sio is a good one. Some apps help either by turning off services you don't need while your not using your phone or by adding tweaks to help efficiency.
Use search for battery tips as there's a lot of information out there.
That said there's always the old gem of 'new battery' depending on how old her note is. Remember there are larger than 2500mAh batteries out there, although above a certain point the battery gets thick and comes with a new back to help contain it.
Hope that helps.

stock kernel tends to act like that.
root and install custom kernel and it will not drain battery so much (and even improve responsiveness in the process )
when I had stock kernel my phone lasted like 20hours - with thunderzap it is about double battery life for me
Even I am facing similar issue after updating. The phone lags little bit not much but the battery is draining quickly. Today when I unplugged the charger the battery was full. And right now it is 52%. The usage is that I did net surfing and one call and watched few videos on youtube. And in gingerbread the battery was 89% with same usage. So experts please help.

Keep use your phone until it is turn on itself (battery 0%) after that charge your phone with off condition after full DON'T unplug it wait for 3 hours after that you can unplug it
Press Thanks button please if I help you in anyway

Enter recovery mode. Factory reset. Wipe cache too. This should solve the problem provided that you haven't done it yet. If problem persist, root, install custom kernel and rom. Search the threads there are many guides made. Post any problem in that thread.
Hope this helps.
Thnk u soo much... n can u telk me which custom rom should i install?

Well I suggest the one on my signature. One of the most stable lag free rom.
Sent from my GT-I9070 using xda app-developers app
I suggest you to install a custom rom
is it because of the bloatware??
What has CM for advantage above fw or other rom's?

A clear difference is speed. No more lags in opening anything which is the major drawback of official jb.
How about battery performance. I now use dxamd1 with cocore 6.8. And I charge once a day in the nightly hours. And use my phone freqently the whole day

Battery is quite good for me. A good start considering the rom is not optimized yet.
Sent from my GT-I9070 using xda app-developers app
Battery life is amazing, considering cm10.1 is still quite raw. I've just plugged my phone in after 2 days.. 15% battery left. Some whatsapp, some messaging, some browsing, some music... the usual stuff. Wifi on 100% of the time.
So is speed, smooth as butter. The only drawback I was able to find so far is benchmark results... ran antutu and scored 5030 points, while the better stock JB roms are near or at 7000 points. Mind you, if I hadn't run that benchmark, I wouldn't have noticed there was a performance deficiency.. no lags, no hiccups, nothing.
If you don't use video recording, and don't mind turning the volume down then up during a call to solve the low volume problem... then yes, go with CM10.1 as it is right now, it doesn't dissapoint. It can only get better!
So wich cm Rom version comes out best out of the box here. And can i flash it over all fw versions?
Sent from my GT-I9070 using xda app-developers app
I hope that the issue of video playback is resolved soon!!
That's the only reason I don't try cm10.1
I think it will be fixable, I remember the times when g5 cm9 didn't have hq acceleration

http://goo.im/devs/diegoch/janice/cm-10.1/nightly
Well, there are a lot of CM10.1 nightlies... Have a look in the archive, I've personally had excellent results with the 20130621 one. Don't flash the latest 20130627 since it's corrupted (it weights 94 MB and a full rom is about 165-170MB)
From what I've read so far, CM10.1 works just fine if flashed over XXLQE firmware, but could have problems if using another one as base. I used polish XXLQE as base and it worked perfectly, apart from the two or three bugs CM10.1 still has.
I think cm 10.1 and pac 23.0 works well with any other base too. I'm using indian ddulp8 and got no issue at all. But better install from fresh stock firmware to avoid any problems.
