[Q] Can't use non-GO Widgets on Go Launcher EX - Kindle Fire HD 7"

For some reason, every time I click on the "Widget" button on Menu - Add - Widget, it just says "Loading" and nothing appears. I've tried on Go Launcher HD too but nothing works. I wanted to use a Duolingo app widget because is the only way to use it and maybe add a evernote widget but I can't use it either. Any ideas?
I had the same issue, I found a topic on here which gave insight on fixing it, but can't find it because I'm 200 miles away from my computer. But if I remember correctly I think you need Appwidgetpicker in your system folder. I would do a bit of searching just to confirm, though.
Sorry I can't be more helpful
EDIT: Found it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780828
Just download the apk, follow the instructions for "installation".
Once you've done all that, just hit the Add > Widget option in GO Launcher and the widget screen should display

Can you explain what you did to get this to work? I tried both 2.0 and 1.2.3 and still can't get them to work. I followed every instruction but when I click on widget is still says loading then I get nothing. Also what do you have the Permissions set to on the file that you got to work. To be honest I can't figure out why this won't work for me.

I have rw- r-- r-- on properties. Check that you changed the name file so it doesn't have any number on the apk's name.

Tried this and it's still not working for me...I think the problem I'm having is that I accidentally installed it...if that's the case how do I uninstall it? Do I just delete and reboot and it's unstalled or is there another way to erase all traces of the the .apk?
Never mind I had to delete it reboot/reinstall reboot and it works now, thanks for the help.
Glad you got it working. One of the "must have" apps imo.

no, it has a launcher included, it will work with only that... if you want that on any launcher, try the uccw method here (credits - @Youngunn2008) but this will be a little different than the original

5.press and hold till you get the menu bar to open up. down on the bottom right.

I drilled down to the folder listed, but that file is not there.

Yes, it is rooted and es is set to show hidden files.
I just tried to find that file with root browser and that doesn't show it either.

It does not show in that folder (or any other folder doing a complete system search with root explorer) in my phone.
Sorry to hijack the thread although much easier method here guys: refer to my thread.
I figured out an even easier way (I'm not sure why I didn't think of this before)
I have an app in my phone called "app monster pro". It is one of the handiest apps I have ever purchased, I've used it for years.
It backs up every app in your phone (similar to titanium BU), but what's really cool is you can set it to automatically make a "plain style BU" of every app you install.
What this does is save the apk from every app you install to a folder on my external 64 gig card.
I realized I already had the apk's for both the nova prime key & nova launcher. I installed Nova prime with wondershare using those apk's & it works super.
AppMonster is real handy for reinstalling apps after flashing a ROM or factory reset etc.
Yep - same here. I'm gonna do a thorough search and see if I can find it. Using a Galaxy S3 so might be a different directory for some reason.
Look under /data/app paid apps were moved there I believe. At least that is where mine is at.

Use titanium.
Click on app.
Window will popup to backup or uninstall or restore.
Pres on yhe file name which is in yellow color.
It will show you the path of that apk.
Use solid Explorer otr any other one to navigate to that path.
You will find it with the name of pkg. Pkg

cant find the right files
tried all methods of this but cant seem to get the right files.
I am able to get the .apk
but not specifcally the pkg.apk
The file just does not exist
I have torrent files of .apks that work to install other apps through wondershare
but when I try to install nova Launcher prime that way it does not work
cannot uninstall regular nova launcher via wondershare either
also trying to figure out how to uninstall nova launcher from the adb commands

[Q] Kindle fire 2014 launcher??

Hello guys,
I'm looking for the new kindle fire 2014 launcher apk.
I searched everywhere but i can't find it...can you help me?
I'm running the latest kinology Rom so i'm rooted and i have the latest TWRP.
Do you mean the 2013? If so, I can almost assure you that just downloading the launcher and installing it will not work. You will need to find any other libraries needed and install those as well.

No, just editing permissions won't work. You could start a new thread entitled "[REQUEST] 2013 KFHD7 Launcher APK". You'd probably get more attention and someone to upload the file that way.
EDIT: Or just download the update directly from Amazon's servers, extract it, and get the apk from /system/app

[Q] Anyone know a way to bypass the Amazon Appstore External Market Link popup?

NO Amazon, I do not want to open the link/app with your App Store!
So, does anyone know a way to bypass that popup? It's not a big deal, just annoying that I have to back out of what I'm doing, open Google Play, search for the app, find the right one, then finally download it. Thanks to anyone who can help me be even lazier than I am
In case it matters: I'm on a -rooted- Kindle Fire HD 7", running Amazon Firmware version 7.4.8, Root Android 4.0.3, with ADW Launcher EX version 1.3.3.9,

Hmm, it's been a while but I think as long as you're running Amazon OS this will happen.

Nope there's a trick, rename a system app called something like marketintentproxy.apk, it will stop the redirects. Not positive on the filename but it is something like that, I had it disabled myself back before i stopped using amazon os.

So what should I rename the system app? Is there a specific name, or can I just enter whatever and it will stop the redirect?
Thanks, by the way. I had seen that apk name before, but didn't know it was used for this.
Change ".apk" to ".bak" so its not recognized as an app.

How did you get to the .apk file to change it to .bak? Did you use something like ES Explorer? If so, where do I look?
Yes you can use es file explorer, look in /system/app
You have to enable root mode and mount system as read-write, though for some reason on the latest Google play store released version of es file explorer i cant find a option to remount system as RW, only root access. Have to remount it from a terminal on the newer version. Don't let what I said confuse you, I am just rambling.

Already had root access. Somehow when I did so it didn't redirect links leading elsewhere. Thanks a bunch!

That's awesome that it somehow fixed that file for you! It's quite annoying when it gives you no choice but to download from the Amazon App Store.
