I don't have it installed but I was able to find it on the market using my GTAB.
What ROM your on? I can't find it on Vegan. The only one that shoes up is the one for phones and it doesn't recognize that I'm on WiFi.

I'm on VEGAn Beta 5.1
I have full market capability, Ok.. Maybe its more like 98.9% capabilities.. *lol*
Check this video on getting full market, it really worked for me with this ROM.

Edit: I just installed "NYTimes for Android Phones" and it works fine with the GTAB.
I'll try that later, it tells me there's no connection.
P.s. I hate your tab for having it work lol

both the tablet and phone versions work on mine. Both are really slow though. Really annoying and I probably won't be using, but it does work.

You might be interested in checking out Readers Hub and Zinio with it. The combination will let you subscribe to hundreds of newspapers and almost a hundred magazines. It works great on my gTab running VEGAn beta 5.1.

Pardon the newbie, but how do I install this? I tried renaming to an API, but while that brings up the normal install screen with permissions, it then won't install.

Do not rename it. Copy the zip to your gTab (I use my Download directory) and then launch it by selecting it and it will install. You must have set your gTab to allow for installation of "unknown sources" in your Settings --> Application --> Unknown Sources.
If you're going to be doing a lot of sideloading I would highly recommend you sign up for a free Dropbox account which will allow you to move files back and forth from any device that you install Dropbox on.

So, I already had that in settings, but when I go to "select it", ES File Manager does not give me an option to install. If I "double click" it simply navigates into the ZIP file. Obviously some simple step I'm overlooking?
I flashed it in cwm.

Same problem as renaming to an APK. It starts to install, then quits with no message other than "Application not Installed". I'm wondering if it is checking for something that is (or isn't) present on my G-tab.
I'm running Vegan 5.1 with the ClemSyn kernel if that would make a difference.
I would download it again then flash the zip in cwm. Maybe it got corrupt somehow.

Thank you again!

I know this is the Xoom forum but anyone with a transformer want to give the APK a shot? Been interested to see how this app works on other honeycomb devices.
Does it have a .odex file it it too? This doesn't come installed on the Euro XOOM 3G. I tried copying it to /system/app and chmod 775 but no go.
Macbots drool as I XOOM through the Galaxy to my hearts Desire on the back of a Droid
has anyone got this working on a Xoom 3G Euro yet?
wont install on G slate
doesn't work with acer iconia a500 either.
it won't install without the .odex file, and even with it, it doesn't seem to work. Thread is a waste of time since it doesn't provide the "full" application. You think these .odex files are there to look pretty? They contain a lot of the application's functional code.

What steps must be taken to get this to work? I tried it on my transformer but no go; not surprising after reading your comment. Why the hell wasn't this included?
Well you could argue two things, first the op didn't explicitly ask for the odex, or the person who posted it isn't familiar with how this works.
Anyway, odex files contain the pltfirm specific compiled code for an application it is moved into a seperate file for the sake of performance.
I have experimented with this and it seems there are some certificates or something, possibly even libs missing. It wont install so forget about it for now until it can be deodexed.
I look forward to that day and think it's a shame rest of us didn't get it

Pretty sure you need root to modify /system partition, sorry.
The app needs to be in /system or it won't have proper permissions and will FC

it launches, but when I try to add a movieclip (3gp/mp4) or picture it tells me "cannot add this file to project" on my transformer.
I have successfully installed adwlauncher EX, but want to know if its possible to put you own picture as a wallpaper?
I must also add that is unrooted

What I would like to do, is replace the systemui.apk of my rooted kindle fire hd 7 (7.3.0) with the stock ics one. I was just wondering if this was possible to make my UI look like the stock android. I read that you can edit you previous systemui.apk to replace the .png files with you own, but would replacing the entire thing cause problems? And if so, is there another file that is linked to it be modified to get it running?

I'm guessing a force close a at boot...but no I don't know either, you should probably have a fast boot cable and create a backup before attempting this

I don't follow what you're asking?
With the UOT kitchen, you upload your own framework-res,apk & SystemUI,apk
and customize it from a menu of various batteries, icon packs, etc...

Yeah but have you tried this before? And if you have tried it on this device, do you have any screenshots of your device after applying?
I've tried uploading my systemui.apk and it gives a security error. :/

Yes in fact I have, on my KFHD 8.9 4g/LTE
did you not see the attachment in my post? that was from a screenshot.
I pulled /system/framework/framework-res.apk and /system/app/SystemUI,apk to pc first & uploaded to UOTKitchen from there. No issues.
I should note, though, I had to modify the UOT zip file's update-binary to flash w/TWRP.
(you could also extract the files & install manually, I suppose)
edit: oh, and kudos to jmar8124 for the softkeybar mod (see this thread)
Now that is what I call a homepage! Changing systemui to stock sounds kinda scary though???

I would try it but I haven't installed a 2nd bootloader and TWRP, mainly because some of the risk of permanently bricking my device. (Plus I don't have a fastboot cable).
NO Amazon, I do not want to open the link/app with your App Store!
So, does anyone know a way to bypass that popup? It's not a big deal, just annoying that I have to back out of what I'm doing, open Google Play, search for the app, find the right one, then finally download it. Thanks to anyone who can help me be even lazier than I am
In case it matters: I'm on a -rooted- Kindle Fire HD 7", running Amazon Firmware version 7.4.8, Root Android 4.0.3, with ADW Launcher EX version 1.3.3.9,

Nope there's a trick, rename a system app called something like marketintentproxy.apk, it will stop the redirects. Not positive on the filename but it is something like that, I had it disabled myself back before i stopped using amazon os.

So what should I rename the system app? Is there a specific name, or can I just enter whatever and it will stop the redirect?
Thanks, by the way. I had seen that apk name before, but didn't know it was used for this.

How did you get to the .apk file to change it to .bak? Did you use something like ES Explorer? If so, where do I look?
Yes you can use es file explorer, look in /system/app
You have to enable root mode and mount system as read-write, though for some reason on the latest Google play store released version of es file explorer i cant find a option to remount system as RW, only root access. Have to remount it from a terminal on the newer version. Don't let what I said confuse you, I am just rambling.

That's awesome that it somehow fixed that file for you! It's quite annoying when it gives you no choice but to download from the Amazon App Store.
