[Q] Bluetooth car problem - baseband issue? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I am trying to solve a problem on a i9000 running:
Baseband i9000xxjvs
Buildnumber: Gingerbread.xxjvs
Stock ROM
Unrooted
It won't work correctly with the BMW 5 series in built Bluetooth. Generally it will connect when paired but only for a few minutes and then it unpairs itself from the car for some reason which isn't ideal when driving. I have already ruled out the car as being an issue.
Do you think a new flashing a later/better baseband will sort out this problem? Is the bluetooth module in the phone controlled by the baseband firmware, and if so what is a reliable/latest one to use?
Thanks in advance

[Q] Reset bluetooth only? AVRCP not working!

Hi! On my I9000, the bluetooth commands for pause track, next track etc. don't work anymore. It's not a problem with the headset, it works on other phones. The problem started on 2.2 and I thought a firmware update might fix it, so I have already updated my firmware to XXJPY via Kies - no success. So my question would be the following: Is there a way to "reset" only the bluetooth functions to get the avrcp commands back without having to do a full wipe? Thanks for your help. T.

Bluetooth Connection problems-

I've been having problems with my phone not staying connected to my Parrot mki9200 in car handsfree kit.. It will pair fine, then will connect ok but then at any random moment will just disconnect for no reason. I then have to reboot to reconnect.
I am currently on 2.2.1 roms kitchen with ZSJPG modem. I have flashed different modems and tried multiple firmwares on my parrot.
I have also tried the bluetooth fix app from the market.
Is the firmware for the bluetooth in the modem?
Any suggestions anyone?
TIA
From what I can find, and not being a dev myself, it appears that the Bluetooth stack is part of the Kernel, not the Modem in Android. That would make sense as the Kernel is where the hardware drivers are located.
Which Kernel are you using with your ROM? Perhaps you may want to try a different one and see if that solves the problem.
Yeah i'm currently on Hardcores kernal before that just stock froyo 2.1 then 2.2
Maybe try to swap to another kernel, such as Damian's or SOK, just to see if it changes the situation.
Remember to disable any lagfixes before flashing.
Thanks I'll give that a shot and see if anything changes.

[9001] Wifi and Bluetooth issues

hello everyone, I just registered here for a couple issues with my girlfriend's i9001, it basically can't find Wifi connections, once you click the button to activate the wifi, it shows a green check for few mins while looking for connections and suddenly it deactivates by itself...
I read around about a file to remove via terminal emulator, the bcm_supp.conf one, but I can't find that file...
does anyone have any idea/solution for it? currently she uses internet via 3g (monthly charges) but it would be cool to be able to use the home wifi...
about bluetooth instead, it just can't find other bluetooth devices and vice versa, my nokia 5800 can't find it even if the "visible" option is activated.
ideas?
I'm going crazy about it, I already tried several hard resets and flashed the phone first with 2.3.5 and then with 2.3.6 firmwares... nothing fixed the issues...
thanks in advance for any response
ps: sorry for my english, I'm italian >_<
i had exactly the same wifi issue but flashing a new rom solved the problem. reset and reflashing the same rom didn't help. you tried several 2.3.6 versions?
you might try flashing another modem.

it had the official 2.3.5 (italy), I flashed it with the same firmware and nothing happened, re-flashed it with 2.3.6 (Baltic 13th June 2012) and nothing happened...
noone knows?

Rooted and flashed a custom rom on my Ace, now call audio wont come through bluetooth

SOLVED! See next post.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi,
I flashed a custom rom (Imaginary ICS Final) on my Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 and now the in-call audio wont play over the bluetooth stereo in my Toyota Yaris.
Music plays fine through the speakers, but the actual call audio occurs solely on my phone speaker in headset mode.
I have tried:
- removing the existing "GT-S5830" from the paired devices and re-pairing them on the stereo OSD.
- pairing the phone as "audio/phone" and then as just "phone" following the stereo manual to the tee.
- restoring my nandroid backups in CWM, but they don't work.
- flashing some different custom and stock roms with CWM, but the issue persists.
- flashing an official stock firmware from samfirmware.com with odin, but the issue persists.
Can anyone suggest further avenues of troubleshooting for me to try?
See next post.
So I did some more research and there were a few people talking about how the wireless and bluetooth radios operate according to the baseband version.
Then there were also people talking about how flashing the firmware for a different region often fixes issues with the wireless/bluetooth.
Anyway, I went back to the samfirmware page and downloaded the latest firmware for Vietnam (version 2.3.6 PDA: S5830DXKT7) and flashed it via odin. (The baseband with this firmware is S5830DXKT5)
Audio now goes through my stereo again!

[Q] Issue on CM 10.0 Wi-Fi (Not authenticating/obtaining ip adress)

Hi, sorry if there's already a topic about this specific issue, couldn't find any.
Now, as the title says, I'm having problem to connect on Wi-Fi network. I have a Galaxy S (GT-I9000B) running on CyanogenMod 10.0 (ICS 4.1.2) since 3 weeks.
Everything was fine when it started, 3 days ago. I can find the network but can't connect into it. It keeps looping on "Authenticating/Obtaining IP Adress".
Today morning I checked my phone and it was connected on Wi-Fi, so I thought the problem was solved, now it is not working anymore.
So far I tried: restarting; "forgetting" the wi-fi and connecting manually/by wps; wipe cache..
Anyone have an idea on how can I fix it?
Model Number: GT-I9000B
Baseband Version: I9000XXJVK
Kernel version: [email protected] #1
Thanks in advance
