[Q] CyanogenMod 9.1.0 on P1000 not showing network - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I am new to flashing and ROM installing but I did learn few things so far, I only had my phone rooted before flashing no more
I download cm-9.1.0-p1.zip from get.cm / device=p1
Placed it on the sd card, rebooted in recovery mood, installed from zip file typically as follows
Download the prebuilt release of CyanogenMod you wish to install
Place the CyanogenMod rom .zip file on the root of the SD card
Boot to recovery mode on the Galaxy Tab (GSM)
Select the option to wipe data/factory reset.
Select Install zip from sdcard.
Select Choose zip from sdcard
Select the CyanogenMod file you placed on the sdcard
Once the installation has finished, rebooted system
Click to collapse
then added GApps gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip from goo.im / gapps to have google apps on my Tab
The problem now that My tab won't connect to Mobile Network, saying "Error searching for networks" and showing attached new screenshot
while it was showing this baseband on original old rom as attached
what can I do to fix this ?
and if there is a better ICS/JellyBean ROM that fits into the P1000 without missing features, plz guide me to it

I tried Modem flashing too
note that I already tried different modems flashing, fist got the one from cyanogenmod wiki matching my baseband :
JXJP4 ,md5: 8bbc850a0c1bc8b5db68bff3838ebabf
and then another two from different forums, but none of them did work
flashed all of them in recovery mode, still network not showing

Get a JPZ/JP4 modem zip.
Unzip it.
Copy the modem.bin to /radio/modem.bin
There is a modem thread in development, in the stickies section.

tried both not working
thanks priyana for your reply,

and tried installing on recovery !
any ideas

Can`t install any ICS ROM

I tried to install several ICS ROMs on my Galaxy s, but none of them worked. I did all wipes like 3 times before any rom install... I only managed to boot up SGS2 ICS rom, wich was extremely laggy and etc:L Any advices of what i can do?
Flash back to gb with this kit (unzip, read .txt first)
http://db.tt/MOGZx01S
Then go to slim website and read the installation instructions(use a nightly, not a kernel where you see the choice)
Re read, make sure you are clear what to do, make sure you have all that you need on your internal sd (nightly/i9000 file/ common file/ modem from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1158783
[CM7/MIUI/ICS/CM9][06.01.12] Modems + Bootloaders(MD5)
Proceed, take your time, be near a computer, breath deeply, don't panic of things go wrong, post on thread of they do.
Try this.
Download the latest CM9 nightly (you will find it if you Google it)
Go to recovery
Wipe
Format system (mount and storage)
Flash in this order
CM9
Reboot recovery
Modelxxx.xxx
Slim common
Reboot.
Then enjoy

Unless the ROM you are installing is specifically telling you to "mount everything", do not do it. Try it again, but this time do not mount anything manually, installing from Zip should do it automatically. If it still doesn't work, make sure the ROM you are trying to install is supposed to be installed from Recovery, some do also provide files for flashing through Odin/Heimdall
EDIT: I do recommend flashing CM9 first, get the newest nightly from here: http://get.cm/?device=galaxysmtd and google apps (if you want them) from here: http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip which is the recommended one for usage with CM9 ICS.

Help, please: Boot loop during Cyanogenmod zip install

Hello,
I'm not gonna panic, as I think Ive not bricked my phone YET.
Here is what I have done, I have a GALAXY S I9000.
Have been using it for quite some time now. 2 years ago, I have flashed it with - hardcore's kernel with the ClockworkMod Recovery - using Odin.
Today I decided to give Cyanogenmod a go, followed the steps here. - http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S:_Full_Update_Guide
Since I have the hardoce's kernel, I skipped this Installing the ClockworkMod Recovery - and moved on to - Flashing CyanogenMod.
I will go step by step from here.
Download the latest version of CyanogenMod.
Optional: Download the Google Apps for the device.
Place the CyanogenMod update.zip file on the root of the internal memory.
Optional: Place the Google Apps .zip on the root of the internal memory also.
Boot into the ClockworkMod Recovery.
Once the device boots into the ClockworkMod Recovery, use the side volume buttons to move around, and either the power button or the trackball to select.
Select the option to Wipe data/factory reset.
Then select the option to Wipe cache partition.
Select Install zip from sdcard.
done these, no problem so far.
[*]Select Choose zip from sdcard.
when I chose this, phone rebooted, it was so fast something may have come up and I didnt see.
Now I am stuck in a boot loop:
- Galaxy S I9000 samsung screen comes up, goes away for a second, comes up again.
- A page with code appearing from the bottom comes up really fast ( logo in the middle changes quickly) then it disappears.
- whole thing starts again.
UPDATE: I got a picture of the fast screen that comes up. : http://localhostr.com/files/b5NzFRy/2012-08-27 05.07.32.jpg
Some observations.
- I can go into download mode when opening it with the key combo.
- loop only stops when I unplug the battery
I need advice on what caused this and how to fix this, please help me.

are you not able to get into recovery? If only download than you need to get back to GB and than do a progressive update from GB to ICS to JB
Flash it again. From what I've heard, it only flashes the kernel the first time.
I had the same problem today with CM7 today. Just reboot in recovery and flash again cm zip, form there on everything is gonna run smooth!

I think this pb is very common
1) DON'T WORRY !
2) Unplug the battery when bootlooping
3) Put the SGS in Recovery Mode (the CWM's version has changed)
4) Select the CM .zip and flash it AGAIN
5) When it's done, reboot system
This time, everything shoot be OK
Just be carefull with your IMEI (always have a backup of EFS folder !)

Anyone have a trick yet for CM 10.1 v.22 Nightly, I keep getting a bootloop on all their versions except the original one. This is so frustrating because I have to keep going back to stock and then update to ICS.

Same here, after the Samsung and CM logos, and splash animation, it says :
"Encryption unsuccessful.
Encryption was interrupted and can't complete. As a result, the data on your phone is no longer accessible.
To resume using your phone, you must perform a factory reset...."
After I tap Reset phone, it goes to CWM recovery.
Do the factory reset and the same thing occured in loop.
I came from JVU and CF root.

How long should the first boot take after following these steps? And does it have to be from SDCARD, because I can't get the rom onto my sd card, I can only do it via usb otg cable

Can't Root Galaxy Mini (GT-S5570)

Hi
I've a Galaxy Mini with XWTN firmware (flashed via ODIN from here )
I had them with the stock recovery and without root, but due to the low memory I wanted to root them for install a sd-ext partition. I did these steps:
- Replaced the stock recovery with this and next with this
-Formatted the sd card using CWM for create a 256 MB sd-ext partition
- Attempted to root the phone flashing Universal_gb_root_v25.zip and Upd_1.zip. The two files failed and CWM show me an error status 7. Also I used SuperOneClick 2.3.3, but doesn't work
- I looked into the updater-script of flashable zips and I noticed that the "Universal_gb_root_v25.zip" updater-script contains a reference to "ro.product.device=GT-S5570L". I looked into the build.prop of my ROM and I noticed that "ro.product.device" is GT-S5570, not GT-S5570L. So, I edited the updater-script into the zip for match "GT-S5570", thinking I could solve the problem, but CWM continues to show me an status 7 error. The other zip I tried, "Upd_1.zip", have the "ro.product.device=GT-S5570" in their updater-script, but CWM show the error anyway.
Considering that these zips are for flash with stock recovery, and I'm using CWM, maybe if I use the stock recovery the zips works? Is there a way to back to stock recovery without flashing the whole rom in ODIN again? (due to data lose)
Thanks.

nightly cyanogen 10.2 rom is getting stuck installing

Hello,
I tried to update my galaxy s via the integrated update screen on cyanogen mod to todays nightly rom update but during the android install animation it got about a third through and then went into quick recovery screen data which i couldnt read and then rebooted but to my existing version...in other words it didnt install properly.
Can anyone guide me through how to get this to update properly?
Thanks

A few nightlies ago there was a bug in the integrated CM-updater...
Have you tested it with download the zip-file ,put it on your device and flash it via CWM-Recovery ??? That`s my favorite way ...

SOLVED
Thanks for your help.
I managed to flash via CWM and now everything is great - and it sorted out my earlier problems which included lack of mobile internet, constant rebooting when turning on and problems with receiving sms texts.
For all those people having similar problem - here are the easy steps to get the new nightly 10.2 rom up and running on your Galaxy S:
1) Download the latest zip file for nightly ROM and latest GAPPS zipp file onto your computer.
2) Connect your mobile to computer and turn on the storage function so that you can see your phone's storage option on my computer.
3) Copy your 2 zip files from above to your phone's storage as zip files without extracting.
4) unplug your phone from the PC, turn off and then go into CWM via volume down/home and power buttons.
5) Select install zip from SD Card and then you should see error message something like 'partition is incorrect/different and you need to wipe data - don't worry about this as you will keep all your apps, ringtones, pictures etc.
6) Install zip from SD card a second time - this should now start the install process. Install the GAPPS file once this is done.
7) Reboot and you should be faced with a Cyanogenmod registration page. Go through the completion process and then your ready to go.
8) check in about phone in your settings to see the latest update in your settings.
I hope this works for you all but as always...this is what worked for me on my Galaxy S and any mod is at your own risk and I wont accept any abuse.

[4.4.x – CM11] Baseband problem : read this for my solution

Hi, few days ago I tried to flash CM11 and was disappointed with the no signal / no IMEI / no SIM problem...
I found a solution that worked perfectly for me :
1) Download and install latest recommended CWM recovery 6.0.4.5, easy to find on XDA
2) Download the latest 4.1 (not 4.3 or you will be stuck with KNOX security) firmware (on Sammobile for example).
3) Download latest CM11 nightly (and/or Paranoid GAPPS if you want them...) and copy the archive files on your SD Card then remove the SD Card from your phone.
4) Download latest modem for GT-I9305 (XXUEMK1).
5) Reboot in Download mode and flash CMW Recovery using Odin, Heimdall (tutorials on XDA...).
6) Reboot into CWM Recovery.
7) Wipe EVERY partition including those in "mounts and storage" section.
8) Reboot in Download mode.
9) Extract the downloaded Samsung package and flash the .tar.md5 file using Odin, Heimdall.
10) Reboot again in Download mode.
11) Flash the latest downloaded modem with Odin or Heimdall.
12) Power off your phone and then put back your SD Card with archive files on it.
13) Boot into CWM Recovery and do a Wipe Data/Factory reset and wipe /system partition in "mounts and storage" section then flash your archive files.
14) Reboot normally.
15) Enjoy.
All of these steps may not be necessary, you may just have to flash the latest ClockworkMod Recovery, wipe everything and try again to flash your CM11 ROM. But this is to be sure that the problem does not comes from somewhere else by restoring the phone at its factory state.
I know this is very long, but I think you could have broken some partitions with previous flashes, this guide helps you to repair bad things and you should flash all 4.4.x stuff using the latest ClockworkMod Recovery version.
I hope this will work for you guys, send feedbacks !
