So the O2X developers have done unbelieveable stuff with this phone but I can't understand why we still don't have working HDMI in JB ROMs? Is this a kernel problem or ROM problem and can only RC fix it?

But how come HDMI work on ICS ROMs when JB and ICS ROMs essentially use the same base?

...fighting with myself not to respond "lol dunno"
But since HDMI "works" in CM10 (90 degree headtilt plz), it's a matter of fixing the rotation of mirroring.
Easy as pie *sarcasrm overload*
If pengus77 says that he's "trying", then the problem must be muy complex. Us, mere mortals, would suffer from brain explosion if we were to try and figure it ourselves...........................

Hi
I know there is no official ICS ROM but i know that people have ported it off other devises so it works on the s+,
I was wondering...
A) is it worth it e.g. are they stable and fast
And B) which is the best, again most stable and fast.
Thanks
As far as I know there are only two stable ics roms - arco's cyanogenmod 9 port and miui v4 which i havent tried, but its based on cm9, so they should have the same bugs. I'm currently using cm9, and its ok for everyday use.
Here are the links:

At this point, why wouldn't you just go with Cyanogenmod 9 nightlies?
Scratch that.

Thanks. cm9 has the option as well, it just doesn't work
Thanks all!
but i was on a s3, and i was wondering is there a port of that because that is slick and has s-talk!!
thanks
P.S. by the looks of it cmod looks the best but was is up with the camera??
Someone must know of an ICS i9000 ROM that supports wifi tethering?!
Update
I have tried a lot of Custom ROMS. I found CM9 Acro the best. Now even Camera is working fine (Front, Back and Video recording @ lower resolution).
MUIU v4 is good, similar to IOS. Lot of bugs. (best part they are reducing everyday).
Paranoid Andriod Ecsatcy is a Tablet like Rom. Can try for a completely different feel.
RemICS is also good with Apex launcher. Need some small fixes though.
Ehndroix is again a good one. Lot of fixes. Can also try it.
Now a days there is lot of work going on so i am happy to see even work progressing on Jelly Bean as well.
hope this helps. Cheers.
I would say the cm9 by arco is the best i've tested.

The best ICS Rom?
In my opinion cyanogenmod 9 is the best ICS Rom and there is a offical "stable" version! I tried the nightly builts for 3 months and had no problems.
Now I'm on cm10 and im missing the stability of cm9.
Aloha!
I'm a newbie here, just registered after a long term consultation of this goldy resource.
I actually have CM7 with [email protected] #1 kernel and I damn love it, but i love to test everything i can (i used MIUI for several months, and i changed to cm after the support removing for this device).
I'm not writing just to introduce myself here and thank everybody for the passive support you gave me through the threads I rode here, but to have infos or rumors about the best CM9 based (official or not) stable ROM released and tested 'cause i'm thinking to have an upgrade
Sorrying for my bad english

I've been using CM9 for almost a month now, and my only complaints are occasional force closes and the need to reboot every once in a while. If you want your phone stable and fast, keep it with CM7. CM9 is very good and also fast, but not as stable. The problem is, once you try it, you'll have a hard time going backwards.
Hard time for what?
Isn't enough to backup anything and flash the phone in order to restore a backup did with cwm??
What's failing with cm9 that make you to do a reboot? And how often?
What version of cm9 are u using ?

Hi.
I think rockaroller says that you need free time to do backups and restores. CM9 is innestable and need reboot frequently. the best of newbe is CM7 or V20q.
When you know what a nandroid, because we have no hardware acceleration in CM9, a kernel and I do not think you should do to get into "beta" as CM9
I'm sorry for my bad english too.

I said you'll have a hard time going backwards because ICS brings a way better user experience than GB or Froyo.
In what comes to backing up your data and restoring it again, there are no problems. And you can flash GB or Froyo anytime you want.
EDIT: typo fixing.
Do those issues apply to every CM9 ROMs?
What are the known issues apart from lack of hw acceleration?

The problems with CM9, at least for me, are related to the camera and enabling or disabling data. About the camera, it's because the lack of media acceleration, so it's completely understandable. When it comes to enabling or disabling data, I do it very often - sometimes when I disable it, I can't enable it back, and that forces me to restart my phone equally often. But, as I said before, the better user experience makes up for it.
I'm trying nova rebuild - a cm9 rom based - to now I think it's the best rom I've tried..
Little drained battery.. But I'm not working on undervolt and similar.. O change kernel..
My 2 cents
Inviato dal mio LG-P990 con Tapatalk 2
so Nova seems stable uhm...
I'alla wait for the cm9 release for my device U.U
Thx anyway ppl

What is the best ICS/JB Rom Out There?
Currently I am on CM7 by Temasek.. would you recommend me to upgrade? are there any ICS/JB roms stable as CM7?

since there was no dev lately.. it been a long time since i visited optimus 2x forums.. it would be kind of you to tell me if it is recommended to upgrade to ICS.. i know that there are bugs still in CM10 like Call audio etc.. but ICS roms i know notting about them..
Thx.
i tried both ics and cm10, and Temasek's cm7 still works best for me...
cm10 is smooth, but until they solve in-call audio bug and wi-fi battery drain - i won't switch to it again...

Thanks for your help
The "best" ROM, is VERY subjective, and you will need to try them to determine that for yourself. Closing thread
Hi!
Since I updated my p990 to Jelly Bean I have the wifi hotspot (nor the bluetooth, or usb) working... I've read there are many ppl who actually have similar problems in JB... Fox Fi says my carrier may have blocked it on Jelly Bean.
I'd like to know if there is any solution or fix that you know. If, there is not, what would be a good rom for my Optimus 2x?
Simply install the kowalski kernel and it will fix your problem.
You can find the thread in development section.

Unfortunately, this also doesn't fix the problem for me. I'm running CM10.1 on a P990. I think it's actually in the ROM, don't know if that's possible? WiFi tethering doesn't seem to be fixed on CM10.1, yet.
It seems tonyp has fixed this issue. Try the search button

CM 10.1 has this issue...tonyp has fixed this apparently but you have to wait for this master's work to come out in real form.
this fix is still not available in public release (saw tony saying about this in Temasek's thread)....so you need to wait for the penguins NEXT BIG THING to be released
Hi all,
Running Asylum build CM10.1 nightly (20130517)
I just got a new MHL cable for my Galaxy Note N7000.
When I plug in the cable the screen on phone rotates to landscape, but nothing else happens on the TV.
Can anyone confirm if they have this working on the above hardware & firmware?

Hello christogouws!
I have managed to get my phone's screen onto my TV by using an MHL cable. Although it does not work on CM ROMs or any ROMs based on CM, it only works on Samsungs stock ROM or other TouchWiz ROMs. My personal favorite has always been RocketRom when it comes to TouchWiz ROMs and it works great for me with this version:
Rocket ROM Reloaded v1 thread on xda
also, Stunner works stunningly well! ;-P
Stunner ROM on xda
I hope that you'll get the MHL working on your phone! Please don't forget to configure your TV to use the right HDMI port you are connecting the phone to, and so on...
Greetings,
Paco.

Great! Thanks so much for the info.
Rocket ROM seems to be GB... I'd prefer not to go there.
Stunner ROM is ICS, but seems to be based on CM, do you have HDMI mirroring working on Stunner ROM?
