If your price range allows I would invest in an s2 otherwise this is still a highly supported phone

In my opinion it's worth buying

You could also consider the i9001 (Galaxy S Plus), which looks exactly the same as the i9000 but has quite different hardware. At least on paper it's quite a bit better and not nearly as expensive as an SII. I've got one of those and am really happy with it
Yes but the i9001 only has slightly faster CPU and slower graphics you can easily set the i9000 to the same clock speed as the i9001

I asked around on the nexus s forums and they told me not to buy. They say its showing its age.
I'm looking at Xperia S now. Probably gonna buy it.

A rooted Galaxy S I9000 is still pretty good, but if you can afford it I recommend you the Xiaomi MI-2.
I personally think that the i9000 is a great phone. It was my first Galaxy class and is still with me
I rooted the phone and switched over to running JellyBean (SlimRom version) and think it is just great. I do prefer the S2 just because it is that much faster, but finding it hard to part with my trusty original
Good all round phone but a little slow on some of the major games (I believe - though cannot vouch for that)

Definately worth it.. Only downside is after using one for a bit you'll think your GNex is too small!
Technology is never an investment. Two, three, six months later the latest hotness is two years old and worth a fraction of what you paid. Don't buy something as an investment and expecting to recover any expenses in the world of Technology.
As far as being worth the expense of being a useful gadget you will enjoy, yes it is very much worth it. If you spend any time browsing the web, youtube, games, or movies on your phone, using the Nexus 7 will make it a more enjoyable experience and not kill your phone in the process. Tablets are still limited to being media consumption devices, i.e. dont expect them to do everything a PC can, but they do have a viable need in the gap between a smart phone and a laptop or desktop.

Anyways, why do people keep thinking that because they already have a Gnex that getting a 7 will be redundant?

im tempted to go buy a nexus 7 today in town for £190
do you guys think its worth its money ? i have a galaxy s2 on cm10.1 jellybean 4.2 so i guess its just a bigger version of my phone
have you been dissappointed with the nexus 7 when you bought it or do you think you have got a goot tablet?
cheers guys!
I bought it for christmas for my wife.
I have a Desire HD and she has a Incredible S as smartphones.
I have a Samsung Tab 10.1.
So as mobile tab or for ebooks it's the best one I think.
And it's a very good price. For a tablet in 10.1 inch you pay 400 £.
If you want to invest 400 £ buy a Galaxy Tab 10.1 otherwise a Nexus.
You wont't be wront.

I have been surprisingly impressed with my nexus 7. I bought it at launch, and I was already heavily involved with the HTC rezound and the Transformer prime tablet. I had also had two iPads so I thought I knew all I needed to know about tablets. Had my local staples not had one in stock aftrer launch or had it been more expensive I wouldn't have tried it.
But I'm so glad I did, because the 7 inch size surprisingly makes it feel, completely different from a 10 inch, and its so handy and convenient. My favorite part is the development. I set my tablet aside for a few weeks, and when I came back to it development had increased instead of slowed, so I get to flash and help work on toms of stuff.
If you have any more questions send them on but I highly recommend trying it.

You'll be glad you bought it! I had a 10" Transformer that I could never get on with let alone take anywhere! For portability nothing beats it and you will appreciate the pure Android experience for sure. I also thought I'd miss the extra few inches but in fact I prefer it because it makes typing and playing games much easier as your not stretching to use the controls all the time nor are you fed up of how heavy it gets in your hands although I appreciate that depends on what 10" you have.
Enjoy it!
I'd say go for it. The Nexus 7 is easily my most used gadget I own.

As a guy who has owned probably half a dozen different android tablets, this guy has said most of what I would have about the n7. At home I use it more than both my laptop and Nexus phone. Out and about I'll always take it with me in preference to my laptop as it's small enough to be very portable yet still large enough to be much more comfortable to use than my phone.

These 'should I buy' threads always make me laugh.
Why not go ask in an ipad mini forum if you should buy a 7 over a mini.
I'm sure they'll all say a 7 :what:

OK how about this just compare all the other tablets to the n7. Then look at what you get for your money. Hands down the n7 is underpriced for what's inside. The only thing that it lacks is a SD slot.
Seriously why did we get the n7. Sure its a nexus but we got it because of the price its cheap and gives you the most bang for your buck.

I need a new phone for work, could someone please tell me if this phone can keep up with:
Typing 3 words a second (quite a few phones can't keep up with my speed unfortunately.)
Slight drops, maybe from 4ft on a floor as hard as rubber tarmac (like in children's playgrounds)
Slight water resistance (a few drops on the screen)
My s2 survived for 4 months of this usage, along with about a year of normal usage.
Can this phone cope? Thank you ever so much !

In that case there are many more cheaper options available. However, if you want a phone of at least this caliber, I suggest you to get an SII again.

I'ts a good phone, and still a valid option with an updated rom (Slimbean or CM) however if you could afford one with more processor/mem I will recomend that
My friends, I'm thinking that I really need a tablet to complement my SGN2. I don't want to close any option before I hear from you. I'm an advance user, and I'm looking for something that really gives me more that my sgn2. I used to have an iPad I sold it because only my children were using it to play around, but since the anounncement that office 365 was out in USA, I'm thinking to get me an iPad mini. Another choice might be an w8 tablet, since I want it only to get my job done (lots of reports and presentation, microsoft dominates my working environment). I was thinking also to let go my SGN2, get an HTC one and buy a note 10'. What do you think?? Please help me out here.

It's a work based tablet. You shouldn't be buying a tablet for work though
I am using galaxy note 8.0 and HTC one. You just can't get wrong with the combination.

well, sadly my nexus 7 has become so slow its almost unusable. So im thinking of upgrading to a larger tablet (8.9 inch or 10) but i am not sure which ones to look at. I want to stay below the 250 price mark so right now im leaning towards the Kindle Fire HD 8.9. Anyone have any other suggestions??? Id love to hear them.
I think you should read up and get what's right for you, in your price range. Asking others is just plain silly. We all have different tastes, needs, funds....etc.
Good luck.
P.s. Under 250 for a 10"tab?? What a dinosaur or no-name junk heap that would be.
Oh....and if you aren't willing to put forth a wee bit of effort to get your tab running like it was new again.....then I gotta suggest you try an ipad. They're neat!

Dude you just have to clean your tablet frequently like I do. Just install advanced system care and power saving apps. Use their widgets and put them on one page of the home screen so you don't have to use the actually apps..... Something so simple some people get rid of their devices because they didn't know it. Lol
